  1. Got to love Monarch logic , we won 47-43 away from home and should be disappointed . Shame I had to miss this , and it looks as if we got off to a nightmare start , but chipped away and eventually got the win . Another valuable three points to help getting a top 4 finish , beginning to look like Glasgow , Ipswich , Forces of Darkness and a.n . other for the top 4 .
  2. Obviously i'd want either Lawson or R Worrall to win tonight , would love a Glasgow rider to cheer at Cardiff . Schlein would be good too just for the comedy value on here . But no doubt it will probably be Cook .
  3. And they're not going to do that if they think it will work against them , which in this instance moving r/r to 2 would give Newcastle a big advantage in heat 8 . So keep it at 5 thank you .
  4. Second week in a row there's been a good few riders struggling to stay on the bike .
  5. My other half is going with her wee pal . They are going with Travel Plus and they are going to an under 21 meeting on the Sunday .
  6. why did you need to edit that post , did you miss out a couple of mm's ?
  7. Shane Parker , James Grieves , Matthew Wethers , Theo Pijper , George Stancl , David McAllan ( though that was injury prompted ) Simon Lambert . That's just off the top of my head , there's bound to have been more . So it's not that unusual .
  8. I can see Ipswich winning this . Witches have three heat leaders that are capable of scoring 34 or 35 points between them , all they need is Newman or Heeps to find a bit of form and job's done . Masters is very good at home , but Wells is vulnerable and E Riss is inconsistent . M Riss and Clegg aren't as potent out of the reserve berths , and it's not a gimmee that Pickering will start weighing in with a shedload of points now he drops down . No I can see Ipswich coming away with more than just a point tonight .
  9. Was unlucky not to win a PLRC , but his then team mate , Kenni Larsen , did him no favours on the first bend in the final . We loved having him at Glasgow last year , he turned our season around after he got him in to replace Ben Barker .
  10. Or alternatively Richard to go out and win the thing and make Rossiter look stupid .
  11. Older riders on that " bargain average " are usually on that " bargain average " for a reason
  12. You'll have them by the end of the month , it's usually about a month before the event that the tickets start to appear .
  13. Not in Kevin Doolan's case , despite your attitude , he will be rewarded by a large turn out . I saw for myself on Saturday evening just how popular he is at Berwick .
  14. While that may be true , sport tends to be different . You can have a footballer on 50k a week getting a testimonial and crowds flock to it . Is it really such a crime to reward a speedway rider in the same way ?
  15. Utter rubbish . As a sport we can't pay riders , especially second tier riders , what they're worth . So a rider who has given British speedway loyal service for over 15 years , definitely deserves a big night as a thank you .
  16. That's what Roy Clarke said on the mic on Saturday night . And pay no heed to Starman , of course Kevin deserves this night , he's been a great servant to British speedway and every club he's ridden for .
  17. The BSF gets a lot of unfair criticism . It's a normal cross section of life that you have to deal with anywhere . You get the ones " in the know " that get snotty when someone posts something not quite correct . You get the know alls , you get the ones who are always right and have to have the last word in any debate . You get the wind up merchants and the ones who like to stretch the boundaries . But there are some really good posters , some very intelligent posters , and some very funny ones too ( intentionally or not ) . If you develop a thick skin and don't take yourself or the forum too seriously , then it's enjoyable on here . I've enjoyed speedway a lot more since I joined this in 2006 and I've made some very good friends because of this forum .
  18. Nah , it was far too dusty . No covers would have meant the rain would have given the track natural watering and improved the dust problem
  19. This should have been purchased over the winter , but better late than never , even if we're kicking our heels again today .
  20. Will probably be dry all day now . Since the planned giant screen doesn't look like appearing , and wasn't needed in the first place , covers ( even if we're all bored to death with Berwick fans banging on about how good theirs is ) has to be more of a priority .
  21. Interesting meeting last night . Newcastle are really dreadful away from the confines of Brough Park , and it's too early to tell if Berwick have turned the corner as last night's opposition were that ordinary . In saying that Robert Lambert and Steve Worrall were brilliant , Worrall very unlucky to come to a halt when in command of heat 13 , but you can't get anything on the road with two riders no matter how good they are . For instance Lindgren chased and passed by a NL guest reserve really shouldn't happen . For Berwick , Morris was outstanding , the only home rider capable of mixing it with the Diamonds' top two , but the rest of the Berwick side were quite happy filling their boots , and wage packets , mopping points up against the inept remaining five Diamonds . 31-11 to the home side in the heats that didn't involve Lambert and Worrall tells it's own story , and it was only as close as that because Etheridge locked up and came down while leading heat 14 . Etheridge looks a much improved rider at his new home , though he wont have many easier nights to rack up decent points .
  22. Exactly , the introduce a new supporter scheme launched last week ,and to run throughout June , isn't exactly going to be a roaring success if there's no actual speedway to watch .
