  1. When Buster Chapman took over from the Dark Lord , did he not say it was time to rip up the rulebook and start again . Seems to be more confusing than ever now .
  2. I know that , but had this been Redcar v Berwick , Jenga wouldn't even have noticed . But you're right , it sets a dangerous precedent . Awarding a meeting after heat 10 is nonsense enough , mitigating circumstances or not , it's not good starting to award meetings before that .
  3. Agreed , though the opening poster is obsessed with Glasgow/ Peterborough / Somerset and needs no encouragement to let rip .
  4. Stewart Dickson was the man on the grassy knoll apparently
  5. I understand the frustration , a meeting should run 15 heats before a result counts . But promoters have been eroding the value for money factor for years now . You do worry where the sport will be in 5 years time .
  6. Aye I hope there's no lingering bad feeling between our two clubs , I've a lot of good friends among the Bears fans , even stayed at Big Russ' house one year when the Tigers were down , even went for a Parmo lol . Time to draw a line under this meeting now .
  7. Aye back in the day when the Dark Lord was Imperial Wizard at the BSPA Hilton , Glasgow wouldn't have got that decision .
  8. It was moving in the stalls and got put back 15 metres . Since we've been awarded the meeting , better get the tin hat out
  9. Unfortunately second halves were a bit of a waste of time up here Sidney , away riders couldn't wait to get hit the road and either didn't try and got knocked out , or were offski as soon as the league match was over . Would happen regularly a home second string , who hadn't scored much in the actual meeting , would beat the away number 1 in the heats of the rider of the night . Would bring the house down , but seemed pretty false .
  10. Any Bears fan want to make a few bob ? There's a horse called " The McGregornator " running in the 7-25 at Ayr tonight i kid you not
  11. Was an okayish meeting . Any of the races between Nick Morris and our three heat leaders was entertaining , but that was it really . Agreed that Etheridge looked much better than the rider that was so publically slated by his parent club's promotion last season . Another three points safely tucked away , bring on Worky next .
  12. One of the under 21 meetings on the continent I would imagine , didn't ride for Poole last night either .
  13. I hope so too , his average is false due to his mechanical issues earlier in the season . Hope he's not out of action for long
  14. Without being biased , Michael Max at Glasgow is as good as anybody currently doing a centre green . I like Roy Clarke ,who's took over from Dick Barrie at Berwick , he was very good at the PL 4's at Peterborough the last couple of years . And Kevin Long at Ipswich is very good too .
  15. That is the hope , although it is a long and full of patience process . We have Jack Smith at Glasgow , and while nobody is getting on at him and the promotion is full of support for him , I worry about him . He cuts a sad and forlorn figure at times , looking out from the pits during races and on the truck at the end , and you just have concerns that his confidence is being shattered . You mention Ellis Perks , and he has shown a lot of improvement this season , but he has been at it a lot longer than the likes of Smith and the other two pointers and you worry how many more will decide they've had enough before their potential has been fulfilled .
  16. yeah suppose not and Worky were near to hand last night .
