It thoroughly enjoyed my beer and burger diet during my weekend road trips . Steak pie , chips at Scunny wasnt too bad either . -
Agreed , I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday after sitting in torrential rain in the car park thinking I wasn't going to see any speedway . So the Redcar trackstaff deserve enormous credit . When Sheffield riders won the PLRC every few years , folk would moan about home track advantage . A home rider wins and thats what you get . Ok I wanted my own team's rider ( Chris Harris ) to win , but when you got racing like we got yesterday , speedway was the real winner, but well done Charles Wright .

Workington Comets v Belle Vue Colts 26/08/23 3pm NDL
Paulco replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
As a neutral I enjoyed the meeting . It's a cracking wide track , would love to see the sports big stars on it . As for today , too many last places for the home side , can't win meetings like that . Funniest part was Jack Smith waving his arms about after Connor Bailey moved him over then kicking the fence on his way back to the pits . Comedy gold . -

Disappointed with the result , but some of the racing was brilliant . Lovely touch by Ben Basso to come over and applaud us travelling fans on the first bend , after he won heat 15 . Big difference of course was getting heavily outscored at reserve -

Took ages to get across the A66 , was tailbacks for miles -
I remember Zetterstrom getting banned for riding in Poland instead of the riders championship one year . How times have changed .

Correct , our new boy is a class above the British journeyman heat leader . Dont you just love a good old fashioned speedway rulebook loophole, I know i do . Will we order in the bunting now or do the decent thing and wait till after the play offs ?

Who knows , not us and possibly not the management committee. They're still trying to come up with an excuse to deny us signing Patryk . Maybe they think we mean Dudek -
Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship
Paulco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Its speedway not football. Surely we as a group of supporters should be better than resorting to name calling when our opinion differs from somebody else's . The jealousy that Poole got aimed at them in the top league has now transferred down to the Championship .Suppose that's the price you pay for being the most successful team -

Looking forward to tomorrow night , a night at Scunny is never a hardship . Hope the meeting is as entertaining as the BSN semi final earlier in the season . -
Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship
Paulco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Anyway , getting away from all the nastiness for a moment . Poole are the best team in the league , that isn't in doubt , year after year they get the team building just about right . So to score 37 points on the best team in the league's home track is nothing to be ashamed of . We are what we are , probably the third best team in the league, which I can live with . If we do get permission to use old Paddy Wobblytoe to replace Marcin , then who knows how interesting that might make the play offs . But as things stand at the moment , you can't see past Poole winning everything again . Right back to the name-calling again -
