  1. He had a legitimate excuse , that was Exeter Anyway , agree with what everyone has said , enjoyable and interesting meeting with solid performances on both sides . For us Aaron was brilliant , Richard messed up his maximum by going too wide on bend 4 in heat 15 , yes Dan and Richie had below par nights , but both still produced important race wins just at the right time . Nike had his best meeting for a long time , and although our two reserves had the bulk of the last places , they still rode above their average and 5-1'd heat 2 . Starke and Ostergaard done their job superbly for the Panthers , while Holder was exciting if a little erratic at times . Wilson Dean and Carr didn't offer much , but Bacon at 7 was solid and got better as the meeting went on , probably the best visiting number 7 that's been to Ashfield this season . R/R for Barker yielded 8 points from the four programmed rides , so not really that much down from what Barker , or even Harris , would have scored .
  2. White powder will aggravate your sinus' I would imagine . And I thought it was an , erm , migraine he had that day lol
  3. Aye they made them tougher back in the day . I remember Danny Bird riding at Glasgow one night , and throwing up in the pits ...................ok bad example
  4. Very true , and since that was a Berwick fan that posted that statement , you would think he'd be watching his own side tonight anyway . It's , of course , very disappointing that any scheduled rider is missing , but it happens and there's enough good riders in the Peterborough side tonight to make it a test for us and make it an entertaining encounter .
  5. Erm number 16 in a wee individual meeting in South Wales the following evening .
  6. Interesting meeting coming up tomorrow night . Panthers the only team to give us a doing , so we want to repay the compliment . We should be at full strength , assuming Aaron comes through his wee bit of overtime tonight unscathed . As for the Panthers , a fine win at Redcar last night keeps their faint play off hopes alive , but no Chris Harris tomorrow as he is away riding in some Mickey Mouse meeting in Poland I believe . Our old friend Ben Barker stands in and he looks back to his best this season . Dunno if Ostergaard is riding tomorrow , as he missed Redcar last night , but they will come here full of confidence . But it's more to do how we perform , and revenge for that blip we had down there should be enough of a spur to get us the three points and stay in touch with Edinburgh and Ipswich .
  7. God Sakes Jenga , you gave me a wee fright when I read the title of the thread . Then it dawned on me you meant Sheffield lol
  8. You all have to keep at it , the alternative doesn't bear thinking about . I remember plenty of seasons like the one youre having , at Glasgow . Have faith you'll come out the other end .
  9. Neither group will be easy to get out of , going to be a cracker of a meeting as usual . The jewel in the crown of the Cardiff weekend .
  10. Because Bridger and his views really isn't that interesting
  11. Deary me , just as well Berwick did book Richard or I shudder to think what the score would have been . Still good practice for our three heat leaders at Brough with the cup match looming , whenever that may be .
  12. Watched this when I got back from the Glasgow v Sheffield meeting , pretty mundane stuff wasn't it ? Apart from the cameraman trying to film up the start girl's skirts , there wasn't much to keep me awake .
  13. That group of Sheffield fans go everywhere to follow their team , if we raced on a Tuesday night at midnight , they'd be there . I know them all well and they're a credit to their club .
  14. Both of them were pretty dreadful , the young lad Stoneman had a lot more fight in him than those two did . Highlight of the night was Dan Bewley going round the outside of Josh Grajczonek ,exiting bend 2 , like he was stood still .
  15. The threat of rain kept the tractors at home , which is a silver lining to all the clouds that were about .
  16. Routine win tonight , Grajczonek and Bjerre apart , Sheffield were very poor . Still another 3 points in the bag .
  17. Shame he's not riding , he would have got a suitable warm welcome . Interesting meeting coming up . Much depends on Bjerre putting in a shift if Sheffield are to have a chance , he's had the odd stinker here in the past .
  18. Yes indeed , and very comfy they are too .
  19. Yeah well , there were extenuating circumstances involved there , but I agree in principal , hopefully that kind of ruling wont be required again .
  20. No you rip into the shortbread eating skinflints
  21. A more acceptable looking table , never realised our friends from along the M8 were looking so precarious in that top 4 .
  22. Even the best have the odd blip along the course of a long season , yes the standards they have set themselves wasn't achieved at Peterborough , but fear not my Monarch supporting friend , we shall return .
  23. But which Tigers ? The ones who so gloriously hammered the Monarchs at home and then oozed class in clinching a deserved draw at the evil lair . Or the Tigers who ceremoniously despatched the Forces of Darkness out of the KO Cup ?
