Who knows these days But this is a re-arranged fixture which muddies the waters somewhat . It's a nonsense though .
-
I wouldn't be so sure . It's unlikely we'd agreed on that date for an important meeting knowing both those riders would be missing .
-
Seems a couple of the rained off meetings have been rearranged . Thurs Sept 7 Glasgow v Workington Wed Sept 13 Glasgow v Ipswich .
-
Don't tempt fate , remember last season
-
Yeah I suppose he's better on proper speedway tracks
-
You under-estimate the scoring ability of The Swoosh
-
Same with r-r , i'm pretty sure back in the day if both competing clubs were using rider replacement , it cancelled each other out and both teams tracked a novice . Now it's common practice for both clubs to do so .

We had our 1-7 when we got our glorious draw earlier on in the season

The sport is geared too much for the benefit of riders and the fans are no longer considered . Going two and three weeks without a home fixture was unthinkable in the 70's , 80's and 90's , but now it's not an unusual occurrence . I know at one time we did used to shut down for Glasgow Fair fortnight , but that was a time when industry would shut down and people all went on holiday at the same time . Now clubs wonder why they can't get punters through the turnstiles in sufficient numbers , but the riders don't care as they're away riding for their other team . Saturday nights has turned out to be a bit of a mistake , certainly Friday night would be the favoured option , but that opens another can of worms .

I understand your point of view , but maybe it is time to make an example of riders who hold their clubs to ransom and treat that clubs fans with contempt . Ok Chapman's timing was a bit spiteful , but understandable as he's got a business to protect and those two riders , by their actions , were endangering that . How many people who were at Kings Lynn that night had decided enough was enough with speedway after that debacle ? No rider , ex world champion or not , should be bigger than the club .

Sorry canny get time off to make this one guys , wish you had made it Saturday night , then could have had this and the fours on the same weekend . Hope we get at least the same result as last time , maybe see some of you at Peterborough on Sunday . -
That's just knee jerk stuff , I wouldn't worry too much about that . Once things settle down and reality kicks in , he'll get on with it .

Regardless of any bad feeling Sedgmen has towards his employers , he still has a living to earn . So he might not like his situation , but it is what it is and he has to eat .

Riders will be scared to sign for the Blackcat Bandits this season -

That was called promotion , giving away free tickets to new supporters . So the regular fans are full paying , just the newbies get ONE freebie . But yes I agree speedway was the winner last night . -

Who knows what we'll get next year , with many tracks struggling . The repackaging this season was supposed to be a brave new dawn , instead all we got was a weaker product which has got itself into real trouble with doubling up now totally out of control . Is it any wonder fans are deserting the sport in droves . But on the plus side , we occasionally get meetings as good as we witnessed last night . A few more of those on a regular basis might just get British speedway off life support . It still has the ability to thrill and entertain same as it always did . -

Big travelling away support helped swell the gate , I shudder to think what attendances are like some weeks . -

Another blank Saturday night next weekend , we're going to struggle to get our home meetings done by the cut off , and we haven't even raced our KO Cup quarter final yet . KO Cup will be squashed into a week at the end of October probably . -

I'm in Paisley right enough , and nothing until about 10 minutes ago . So frustrating this season , for a few clubs . Something has to be thought up to have us less at the weather's mercy . It's killing our sport more than the BSPA is . -

How we managed to lose that wonderful meeting is beyond me , in control , then out comes the T-R and everything changes . But the real turning point was Summers' exclusion in heat 9 , and then having a strop cause he couldn't get past young Jack , he had started the meeting brilliantly then that seemed to affect him and his final two outings were poor . For us Lawson , Lunna , Bewley and Summers for half a meeting were brilliant . Bewley's high speed overtake of Williamson was a joy to see . For the Comets , Campton , Proctor stood out . Harris was fine once he got his mechanical issues sorted and Tommy the tape toucher took his usual liberties at the tapes , but did look quick in his races . As for the Grand Monarch , well i couldn't really disagree with any of his decisions and i dont really think he ruined a very entertaining evening . Credit the Comets for keeping fighting when the meeting looked to be running away from them early on , but as Julie T says , heat 15 was squeaky bum time , and that's never a bad thing for a speedway meeting . Great to spend the evening with Halifax Tiger and my old drinking buddy Simon Barton , been too long mate . -

This is a different song to what was being sung a few weeks ago when the signing of Richie wasn't exactly to everyone's liking . -

Oh I think you'll be entertained , can see this being a cracker as long as the weather gives it a chance . Plenty talent on both sides to make this a potentially entertaining encounter . -

He's had some good meetings at Ashfield in the past , albeit against much weaker Tigers septets . He's a totally different rider round Ashfield when he gates , poodles around at the back when he doesn't .
