  1. He trained beside the Grand Monarch for much of his apprenticeship .
  2. For the promoters to actually think about what they're doing and consider all the possible scenarios of any alteration . Clubs not being able to sign anyone after 31st July being the perfect example of a reasonably good idea spoiled by no consideration given to clubs being decimated by injury after that date .
  3. The set race nights is the only way the current doubling up scenario can be accommodated , so I think that's pretty much a done deal for the promoters conference . You would upset too many riders if the doubling up monster was now reined in . But I agree with your point about championship riders signing for Polish clubs . The second tier being affected by that has to stop , I know that only really involves Robert Lambert and Jack Holder at the moment , but like doubling up these things can quickly spiral out of control .
  4. The majority of meetings at this time of the season are . On Friday Glasgow take on Newcastle in the KO Cup , already decimated by injury we now have to go into this meeting without Richard Lawson who is riding for Somerset . Richard is our asset , but still has to ride for the Rebels because their rearranged fixture was rearranged first . Here is the perfect example of how doubling up is ruining team speedway . We couldn't use Bewley last week presumably because Belle Vue didn't want him riding for us before their play off semi , now we cant use Richard in a cup quarter final . How many times must Championship teams roll over and get their tummy tickled by the big leagues ? This nonsense could be the stick that finally breaks the camel's back .
  5. That's irrelevant . As you can see , lack of track success hasn't dulled or diminished the smug levels .
  6. No , if we're riding on the same night , then fair enough - he's their asset , but to miss our meeting to be ready for theirs the following evening just isn't on , I hope Wolves pump them now .
  7. I see Bewley is down to ride at Belle Vue tonight . I know he's just a young lad and is only doing what Belle Vue have told him to do , but it's not on . Exciting talent or not , we can't have that , we want riders commited to the Tigers' cause and his Tigers career should be over .
  8. It is an unfortunate clash , but the riders championship has to be restaged and I assume that was the best available date for the majority of the field .
  9. Hope will do All known form and common sense points to Sheffield coasting into the final , but you just never know . Who'd have thought Rye House would go to Poole and hit 60 , who'd have thought Berwick would have beaten ..........well anybody . So in speedway you just don't know . If we can hit them hard early with a couple of 5-1's , then you just never know .
  10. Also there's another rumour that the Monarchs will be business as usual at Armadale next year , I know which one has more credibility .
  11. He's riding against the same riders whatever tier he's competing in over here
  12. Think we'll all have to wait till after the promoter's conference to see where we all stand as regards next season . Workington have been one of the stalwarts of the second tier for many a season , long may they continue to be so . Whatever malaise has infected speedway at Workington , the hope is that it can be eradicated and the club grows stronger again .
  13. Good luck Edinburgh , an all Scottish final would be nice . Unlikely , but nice .
  14. I hope he's right too , and we can keep this close to give us a fighting chance on Tuesday .
