  1. Yes Starke has been a big miss for us , and he rides Redcar pretty well . Redcar are the team with all the momentum, and i rate them favourites for the title . This meeting will be a guide to what sort of chance we have
  2. Dress rehearsal for the play off semi final I would think. We ran you relatively close in the KO Cup , despite having Ty Proctor instead of Rasser . So it's a useful meeting to have at this stage of the season to get track time before the play offs
  3. Likewise if we had Starke . But without the it's and buts , it was still a very good meeting
  4. After last night I hope Berwick do reach the play offs , if you thought the tension and atmosphere was good last night , can you imagine a play off final
  5. You should have stayed for a proper , competative meeting between two decent sides
  6. On my way on the Choo Choo, this is going to be epic . C'mon the Bandits then c'mon the Tigers
  7. Some of the times were in the 56's , so that doesn't suggest the track was really unfit . And the likes of Jake Allan , Ben Barker and Josh Auty didn't seem phased by it . Obviously it wasn't perfect given the amount of rain that had fallen on it on the days leading up to the meeting , but last week's heavy defeat had more to do with our mindset regarding the track , rather than the condition the track was in
  8. I think if we hadn't had such a backlog , then the meeting last week wouldn't have went ahead . And that's the worry , if the same attitude is apparent tomorrow evening , then we'll be there for the taking
  9. Yes i saw that , Rasser and Claus didn't exactly set the world alight tonight either .
  10. So this is the starter dish before the much awaited Saturday double header . We have to bounce back after last Saturday's lamentable performance and it won't be easy against a Bandits side full of Ashfield specialists . Will THJ remember where Scotland is on a Friday now ? Which Ben Barker will turn up to guest for the Bandits ? And will we show a bit more fight than we did last week . If we get a dry day tomorrow , we'll find out .
  11. Hard to really understand the reasons why . Pickerings injury didn't help, as has Heep's absence . But the two main reasons look like being Lawson's contribution from reserve wasn't what was hoped for and Wells has been poor on the road .
  12. Not so , it's a local dust up . If it were Berwick v Glasgow followed by Berwick against Eastbourne or Birmingham , I could see your point . But on this occasion everybody in attendance will have a team to support in both matches.
  13. I gave yesterday a miss too cause I've seen too many disappointing riders championships at Sheffield . Seems yesterday carried on that tradition . It's a shame cause back in the nineties Sheffield was a great track . It was a damp squib the last time a top league track hosted our riders championship ( Swindon 2006) , but Belle Vue on a Saturday night might just be the thing to breathe new life into it
  14. Yes Sarj wasn't convincing there , but whoever thought Mikkel B Andersen was an improvement needs their head examined
  15. Touch of the Big Time Charlies about us last night . While we moaned and whinged about the track , the Scunny riders got on with it. attacked the track with a purpose and were well worthy of the win . 53-37 didn't flatter them at all . We're coming to the time of year when tracks ate going to be difficult and weather affected , and if we show the attitude we showed last night we'll be winning nothing
  16. Yes there is , but I like to go to the Black and Gold after the speedway and stop in Berwick overnight
  17. Is there something else on in Berwick next Saturday apart from the double header ? Been looking at b&B's and they're all over a hundred quid for the night . Anyone know of one on the speedway track side of the river ?
