Another race where the outside gates were out of it from the 1st and 2nd bend . Its only been the poles , who had to battle from the back , who have coped from the outside gates . -

Looks like gates 3 + 4 are not going to throw up many race winners . Richardson made a decent enough start , but there was no grip on the outside . -

After reading this in the scottish sun today i wish i was going now - From the tartan armys travel handbook Under the section - women of the world Boozy polish girls score full marks in the availability stakes . The guide says :- "If a bloater like me can get propositioned dailly , then you cannot fail " . The DRUNKS OF THE WORLD section dismisses the notion that scots are the worlds most notorious boozers . A tartan army member reveals :-" Poland must be the drunkest country in europe - fuelled by industrial-strength beer and top-drawer vodka ." So i hope you all enjoy yourselves and return safely and im dead jealous . One footnote for the latvian GP . In the TOILETS OF THE WORLD section a fan revealed :- "Majori station toilets in latvia consisted of a sloping gutter with standing and squatting positions and best of all , a single toilet roll on the opposite wall .If it wasnt for the grizzled babushka charging 15p a go , i would have been in for photos like a shot ." So you have been warned -
Yes have never been away Andy - since 2000 i have saw them in concert at the armadillo in glasgow 3 times Still sound as good as ever - and i will keep my opinion of punk to myself only to add its down there along with rap .

Gb Selection For Play Off And Final
Paulco replied to BOWESIE's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sod off middlo - i dont want the bloody world cup interfering with our season again . We are at rye house on saturday and we need danny for that . The five riders who rode for team GB tonight did very well and deserve to continue - keep the team as it is please -

Wonderful entertainment and well done great britain who more than exceeded any ones expectations . Good to see the sole glasgow tiger kauko neiminen didnt seem overawed by the occasion and always seemed on the pace . Hard to name a british star of the night cause they all did equally as well , but if you had to push me it has to go to sophies cleavage - once again outstanding Dont worry about thursday if britain reproduce tonights form they will qualify no problem . -
Was out on the p1ss with my workmates last night so i never seen it . But i put a fiver each way on hans and with my head thumping this morning i canny make out on this thread how he actually done . Can somebody please tell me cause im having trouble actually thinking this morning .

Ashworth Over Looked Why ?
Paulco replied to Phoenix Nights's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
At the moment we only have nicholls , loram , stead and at a push richardson and harris who can compete at world cup level . Ricky ashworth is a decent enough premier league heat leader , but a long way short of being able to compete at international level . -

Team Gb, Hans Andersen And The Gp's
Paulco replied to Mylor's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Somehow i dont think going down the rune holta / poland road with hans anderson would do britains future prospects any good . We are not that desperate yet , but we could offer jason crump a british license after all he was born in bristol . -
Nobody who spent a sunny saturday in a wonderful city like cardiff would want to lose that experience to wembly . And anyway its almost 30 years since us victorious jocks swung from the crossbars and dug up the pitch and they still havent finished rebuilding it But if they hold a GP in march will our domestic season have to begin in january so as to allow certain riders time to get their set-ups perfected .
-
My first cardiff and it was pretty good , but i took my daughter ( she was the main reason for going ) and she was overwhelmed by it all . She is 11 and her face when the riders came out in the trucks and with all the noise is something i will never forget . £7 for a flag , prog and airhorn (thats each) is a bit steep , but what the hell its only once a year . From where i was sitting , high up in the back straight , it looked like speedway in slow motion although it had its moments . Fireworks were good and poor old tony christie could hardly sing for laughing because of the airhorns . For me though the two highlights were seeing glasgow win at newport the night before and the poles - what a great colourful bunch of people . I was sitting with a few of them and their excitement at being there rubs off on you . I think it is a safe bet i will be back next year and i hope they sit me next to the poles again .

Get Some Practice In....
Paulco replied to Jim Sharman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think it wont take me long to get sick of listening to rod stewart in drag . So it will be turn around and go back to the bar . -
Doesnt really matter about what the weather does on the saturday as pubs and the stadium both have roofs . But we want really nice weather for the real main event of the weekend at newport the night before .
-
In last mondays rained off broadcast on sky when the lovely sophie was interviewing colin meredith i am sure he said him and his team move in on monday . They do this track every year so im sure it will be fine and i for one cant wait as its my first time there .
-
Whether simon is ready or not doesnt matter . He will replace richardson next year as the second brit as lee has had his chance and is evidently not up to it and nobody else is remotely near able to race in this class .

Tips For The Swedish Gp
Paulco replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Trouble is crumpie was the obvious choice , but at 6/4 you have to lump plenty on and then an EF or a fall and your well out of pocket . So were left to try an look for a bit of value for a smaller stake - betcha greggie was decent odds for a each-way bet . -
Watching that tonight you really have to wonder if we are going to have any GP riders next season . Nicholls looked paceless and richardson looks completly out of his depth . Will be interesting to see how simon stead does at cardiff because he might be the only hope for next year .
