  1. Speedway was the winner tonight , Harris and Ben Cook just wow . Why BSN chose to go 30 miles up the road for a basement battle is beyond me
  2. It would appear not to be the case now . We were told that at the track last week , but now Anders Rowe has been named
  3. Its Eric Riss for Steve Worrall on Friday . Can we cope with Poole's scary heat leader trio ? Did you see how well the lesser Cook rode last night in the telly meeting ? Sam Hagen isn't too shabby round our place either.......God help.us
  4. Happened right in front of me , Mountain turned right on him
  5. Well that's another mid season break almost over and we come back with a new line up . Banished to the speedway abyss are Paul Starke and Ace Pijper and keeping the NHS busy with his ears is Steve Worrall . In come a Slovenian and a 36 year old rising star , plus our guest straight out the bookies , Ben Barker . 20 points to make up for the bonus point , think we can forget that unless messes Howsrth , Palm Tree , Allen etc have off nights . I will happily settle for just winning the meeting , though I think it will be close .
  6. If we were going to sign a Slovenian , could we not have bent the rules to sign Zagar lol
  7. They will have burnt their bridges with the Pijpers and the younger one coming through looks pretty useful . I despair sometimes .
  8. This is bonkers . Ok maybe Ace hadn't progressed as much as we'd hoped this season, but he's still young enough for it all to come together , and looked much better at Scunthorpe last Friday . Suppose it's the last throw of the dice to save this season , but its a gamble and our record with untried Eastern Europeans ( Robert Nagy aside ) isn't good . Alexander Conda was the last one from that neck of the woods and he never lasted long We are now very weak at reserve away from home .
  9. Obviously we were disappointed when we got to the track and discovered Steve Worrall was an absentee . But after a poor start we battled away and the racing wasn't too bad . But we were basically a three man team . But the dust was awful towards the end . Scunthorpe are a solid outfit and the return in a fortnight should be interesting, but I fear the bonus point is gone .
  10. Whether we get pumped or not ,I'm on my way to support my team . C'mon the Stripes
  11. Be good to see young Tate around Ashfield again , he created quite an impression when Workington were here earlier in the season
  12. A good 5 point weekend for us , just what we needed . Both meetings ran a similar course , Berwick in control in the first part of the meeting , then fading out of it when Harris and Worrall took command . Good to see Leon scoring well back on his old stomping ground . Was glad Harris finished second in heat 5 which enabled him to come back out in 6 as a taccy sub That 5-1 with Worrall was the kick start to the win
  13. Every track has them unfortunately. Although since the take over at Glasgow , almost 10 years ago now , some of the newer fans have got that football supporter mentality and it is embarrassing at times
  14. Happiest man in Ashfield last night had to be " the Grand Monarch " . He will have been in his element dishing out all those exclusions in heat 8
  15. Think whoever was in heat 13 , whether it was Etheridge, Hagon or Garrad , there was a good chance they weren't going to beat Harris and Worrall . Hagon would have been more effective in heat 14 .
  16. Regardless who isn't doing what we hoped they would , watching Bomber every home meeting , especially when he misses the gate , is why we love speedway . That meeting was in danger of getting away from us last night as mid meeting Berwick looked the stronger side , but our captain , with some incredible overtaking , inspired us to the win .
  17. Its due to only racing each team once home and away . If we're only going with nine teams then forget the BSN thing and go with two home and away league meetings . We could be racing every week then .
  18. It's like the start of a new season since it seems ages ago since we raced at home . But it is the return of the Bandits and assorted guests as the Bandits keep the NHS overstretched . We should be along normal lines though no Claus Vissing this time , while god only knows who'll be in the Bandits line up . So let's have no anti-speedway weather on Friday please
  19. As was shown at Oxford away in the cup and last night , our bottom end of the side is too weak to enable us to have heat advantages on our travels . The 4-2 in heat 2 and the 3-2 in heat 11 last night were basically gifted to us
  20. I had hoped these kind of Glasgow performances at Armadale were a thing of the past , but clearly not . We made Paco look like Armando and had it not been for mechanical issues the defeat would have been heavier . The last time that many chains broke there was when Ronnie Correy was the master of that happening . We looked a pale shadow of last seasons side , sooner play off Bomber returns the better , though I fear he won't be gracing the play offs this time .
  21. We have the under 21 final and the youth meeting before June 21st
  22. On the Kingston Bridge and its battering down
