  1. Bryn has posted an update on the previous page . Thankfully there is no serious injury .
  2. So Holta is defo the winner then Or is it Lindgren or Ove Fundin maybe .
  3. Exactly . I was sure Pearson was just talking crap , but are we now saying the winner of the Grand Final was not the winner of the GP .
  4. Holta did win . The confusion just comes from Pearson and Tatum talking bollocks ........again .
  5. Holder is certainly a more worthy candidate for a wild card than any of the Brits i'm afraid .
  6. Not Gollob bashing , just critisising the actions of a desperate man . He looked over and saw Jonsson coming inside of him and blatently crossed him leaving Andreas nowhere to go . I just hope Andreas isn't seriously injured .
  7. They'll have to do something before someone is seriously hurt . That track is a joke .
  8. I've got a bad feeling about this tonight . That track is dangerous .
  9. And Bonnie gargling with razor blades . Much more enjoyable outside swigging ale in my opinion .
  10. Does anyone actually care or listen to who it is anyway ?
  11. Ah well - i spelt it wrong all those years ago .
  12. All terrific riders . And yes he did score many a maximum . your spelling is quite correct .
  13. My father gave me my first taste of speedway at Glasgow White City in 1968 ( the year before it shut i think ) and Charlie was my first Tigers hero . Always remember being devastated when rider control forced him to move to Sheffield a couple of years later , but i seem to remember he did guest a lot for us in his year away .
  14. Jason Crump £ 50k Hans Andersen £ 40k Andreas Jonsson £ 40k Scott Nicholls £ 35 k Bjarne Pedersen £ 35 k Captain Jason Crump .
  15. Surprisingly it isn't the first time i've heard that conspiricy theory also . Usually accompanied by Sky being desperate for a British winner . Complete and utter tosh though .
  16. Funny you should say that because i'm the same . Newport does come in for some critisism ( unfair in my book ) , but any time i've been there the speedway has been excellent . Ok Newport v Glasgow meetings are usually highly charged events and it's easy to get carried away with it all , but i've been to a couple of Welsh Opens as well and both have been terrific .
  17. I loved Coatbridge . Ok the stadium was probably the worst ever to hold speedway , but the track with the huge bankings was brilliant . As for away tracks - as has been said previously - the Somerset track stands out a mile .
  18. Joe Owen most definently . Also Robert Nagy , who career was ended by that Czechoslovakian nutjob .
  19. Hehe like the Poo boy will qualify anyway . Ex- Monarchs in the GP's whatever next .
  20. I would love to go back to having a series of test matches . Like they do in cricket , with the World rankings decided by how you fair in the test matches . There are too many weak nations in speedway to have a competative World cup .
  21. As regards Denmark . What ever happened to Leon Madsen ? He was supposed to sign for Glasgow a couple of years ago then changed his mind at the last minute. Thought , at the time , he was supposed to be a hot prospect . I know he broke his leg , but that was a while ago and i haven't heard much about him since .

    Coatbridge

What was that meeting Tiger ? I dug out an old Coatbridge v Paisley programme from the 18th of June 1976 , but on the fixture list it just has the 17/9 as an Open meeting .

    Paisley

Canny remember that long ago Kev , but i'll try and find out . It was a big track so i'm thinking about 72 or 73 seconds . Got a feeling it wasn't a Paisley rider that held it though as they weren't very good . I'll have a hunt and see if i've any old programmes in the attic .
  24. You missed out the word " soft " in the above sentence .
