  1. But it's all in the past now , hopefully that won't be repeated next year . Nice to finally meet you by the way .
  2. You hate our head of state , defender of the faith and head bluenose . To the tower with you boy .
  3. I've not got the Scottish chip on my shoulder in any way shape or form , but even i was getting increasingly irritated by the continual " Come on England " . It was , if i'm not mistaken , the British GP ( and i am proud to be British ) . I'm sure the Welsh people in the crowd must have felt the same as me .
  4. Never seen any trouble whatsover all day . Had a cracking couple of hours at the Prince of Wales with loads of wonderful people , followed by an enjoyable GP watched from the back straight . I just love Cardiff .
  5. Absolutely bonkers Anyway back to reality , i've got an 8 hour nightshift to negotiate - then we're off . Don't fancy the forecast for the Pairs though , so fingers crossed Somerset's track misses those thundery showers .
  6. Probably would be . In my time watching speedway i would place him behind Jim McMillan , George Hunter and Bobby Beaton . But i would put him ahead of the Templetons , Brian Collins and James Grieves . So yes i would have him in the top 5 .
  7. Have a safe and enjoyable journey over Dave , and i'll share a beer or twenty with you at Cardiff , Workington and Glasgow .
  8. I'm behaving myself this year , not much bevvy for me .
  9. Leaving Glasgow at 8 am on Friday . Should make the Pairs in time .
  10. I'm too young to have seen Tommy Miller ride for the Tigers , and Ken McKinley was at the end of his illustrious career when i started going to see speedway at Glasgow's White City as a bright-eyed nine year old . But in my 40 years of watching speedway - it's no contest Jim McMillan is the greatest Scotsman to have ridden a speedway bike . And yes you are correct , i think i would be struggling to name 20 likely candidates from the time i have been going .
  11. No , i'm going to behave myself this year mate We are staying in Bristol this year and will be heading down to Cardiff after breakfast on Saturday morning . See you in the pub around noon
  12. Well playmates that's us into the final week Can't wait for the weekend , especially the Pairs at Somerset .
  13. On the pavement outside the Prince of Wales . Hope it doesn't rain .
  14. Meeting everyone in the pubs before the meeting , i love all that .
  15. We always stop at the Tebay at Westmorland . Great place .
  16. Aye , but watch and learn . We'll get demolished with a bit of style and panache .
  17. It was changed to July 5th for KL's visit . But i've since heard than June 21st might be on the agenda for the KL meeting , but i'm not 100% sure . I'll find out for definite today .
  18. Same here , he's totally barking , but the tears are rolling down my face at this one .
  19. Aye , we're having a dress rehearsal in Newport next Friday .
  20. The ones that aren't still in the pub you mean They'll have to shout " Scaramouche , Scaramouche will you do the fandango " pretty loud for me to hear them .
  21. I think the whole GP series is living on borrowed time to be honest . You are correct though , i fully expect this year's crowd to be a bit down compared to the last 3 or 4 years . I shall be making the pilgrimage once again though .
  22. You need to go mate . Cardiff is a social gathering , sod the racing - the Cardiff track is usually crap anyway .
  23. Erm ................................. Just as well Subedei is banned
