Somehow i think that wont happen anyway . The Friday night thing isn't practical i don't think
-
I mean that the immediate future of Glasgow is safe
-
No idea , are you the spelling police ?
-
Well you dont have to worry about that now
-
I don't see what the problem is either . If Wolves agree about making Monmore Green available , then bring it on . Dudley ( or even better - Cradley ) would be a great addition to the PL
-
No longer having to drag myself into work on a Monday with a hangover is a nice prospect , personally i hope Friday racing becomes a reality , but somehow i cant see it happening
-
Welcome back to our inferior rivals . I look forward to the 7 league points the Scottish derbies will bring us .

Cheers , i'm sure everything will be fine -
Said in this morning's Scottish Sun that there had been a good response to the plea to fans for help , and that the club will make an announcement in two weeks time as to whether they'll run next year or not .

Did nothing new come out at the end of season dance on Friday regarding whether the club will be running ? -
1 Not a vintage season for us , but with a plus nine average it has to be Joe Screen . 2 We didn't have a real improver , but Mason Campton did pretty well in his first season over here . 3 Probably the home draw against Somerset , though the home draw against Workington where we came back from 8 points down with 2 heats to go was special for that reason . 4 The home meeting v Ipswich which was run in constant rain was an awful meeting to watch . Mercifully it only lasted 12 heats . 5 Probably underachieved a bit , always hard when a successful side has to be broken up though . 6 Berwick fans have started travelling in big numbers again and are always welcome visitors 7 The trip to Somerset is always a highlight in my season 8 The amount of meetings spoiled by the rain .

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2012 Premier League Champions
Paulco replied to moorwell's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Scunny , i hope you all partied long and hard into the night . Strangely enough on the day Glasgow clinched the title in 2011 it was a double header against Scunthorpe and Somerset . So maybe next year Rebels . -
Think we should round up the " team that topped the league are the rightful champions " and shove them on their own wee thread , where they can greet and moan till next March . Let me congratulate Scunthorpe , their riders and fans on becoming Premier League Champions . And that's what the record books will show .

Rubbish . (A) I wasn't drunk , and ( I like the Bandits and their followers . Plus it was freezing and it kept my neck warm . This is speedway Shadders , not football -

You will indeed , though the Bandits scarf was returned to it's rightful owner -

I thought it was an entertaining enough meeting on a bitterly cold night . Certainly Berwick threatened to steamroller Rye House in the early stages and quite how Rye managed to accumulate 41 points is down entirely to Cook withdrawing after just 2 rides . Barrett took his final 2 programmed rides , and though he tried hard , was always going to find the likes of heat 13 beyond him . Alden was simply in a class of his own and was backed up by Cook ( before he had to withdraw ) and Bellego who unfortunately missed out on his maximum by completely missing the gate in heat 15 . Aspegren weighed in with a solid performance and Barrett was a capable reserve . Dyer blew hot and cold while the laddie Jacobs struggled to cope with this level . Rye were well served by Mellgren , who has developed into a capable PL heat leader , Doolan was solid without troubling the Bandits heat leaders and the same comments apply to Jason Bunyan . The other three struggled , one or two flashes from Garrity included a determined pass of Barrett on the back straight in heat 14 , but he was too wild looking at times . Lambert had a couple of third place tussles with the lesser Bandits , while young Lykke found the large Shielfield Park track a bit much for him . Great news for Berwick to be awarded an under 21 final round on August 10th next year , hope there's a dry day booked for that one . Great to catch up with my many Berwick friends last night , i had a very enjoyable evening despite the Arctic temperatures . Just make sure the club comes to the tapes in 2013 and good luck for today's 2nd leg . -

I think you might find one or two of us Tiggers getting our final speedway fix before the long cold winter . -
Glasgow V Berwick 21/10/2012
Paulco replied to fairplay1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Berwick , best team on the day . But it was pretty dire stuff . Usual gate and go stuff on a freezing cold day , lets just say i'm not sorry to see the back of that season . Berwick look to have unearthed a good un in Nikki Barrett , a steal on his 3-75 average for next season . -
I don't see how JDC stepping down as promoter means the end of the Monarchs . They have a more than capable board of directors out of which any of them would make a decent job of replacing Campbell should they so wish . And i know they all think too much of the Monarchs to simply just let it die . So i think this thread is making a mountain out of a molehill

Last speedway in 2012 for us , unless we hit 70 which is highly unlikely , and thankfully it's dry . Been a horrible season for most teams this year thanks to the crappy weather and financial turmoil , but i think i'll have a few bevvys today and enjoy the last meeting of the season . It's a bit of a strange looking Glasgow side due to absentees , but this always seems to happen to us at the arse end of the year - remember the Scottish Cup match on Halloween at the dump a few years back lol . Anyway todays PL select sides should be - Glasgow Select 1 Ryan Fisher lol 2 Mr Rider Replacement 3 Kevin Doolan 4 Matthew Wethers 5 One of ours James Grieves 6 James McBain 7 Charles Wright Berwick Select 1 Theo Pijper 2 Austen Powers 3 Robin Aspirin 4 Monsieur Bellego 5 Seb Alden 6 Ben Reade 7 Nikki Barrett I suspect it is more of an important meeting for the Borders Select as they only have to avoid defeat by 11 points to reach the final of this hugely important tournament , and i expect them to achieve that . But let's hope for an entertaining finale . -
Superb mate . I get that too ....." We cant go anywhere on a Sunday cause you're going to that bloody speedway blah , blah , blah . I want to go down the coast blah , blah , blah " . Friday night speedway at Ashfield would save me a lot of earache .
