  1. A unique rider for the fact he is loved by both sets of fans on the great divide . Whether people think he is deserving or not , all of us who turn up on the night certainly will think he deserves his big night and he's sure to be rewarded by a big crowd
  2. Except on the 2nd Thursday after lent if a witch dances naked at Stonehenge
  3. True . Speedway is a form of entertainment for many of us , and to deny us of the Aussies is detrimental to that regardless what the immigration law says
  4. I am yes , all sport should be . Sport is worldwide entertainment and shouldn't be bound by normal immigration rules . Surely as a speedway fan you want to watch the best riders our clubs can afford regardless of where they happen to come from . And you're in the PL section now , we don't do condescending in here . Not what you're used to maybe , but the sport is more important to us than the wrongs of red tape strangling it .
  5. I dont see a problem in letting Australians or Americans or whomever in on a 7 point average and given 2 seasons to achieve that . Better a hungry for success Aussie travelling halfway around the world to try and become a successful speedway rider , than some second rate Dane or German trundling round scoring 2 and 3 every meeting . As for the Brit argument , if they're good enough and ambitious enough they'll make it regardless Immigration is being used to cloud the issue . They are speedway riders , not Romanian benefit claimers . If they don't score , they don't eat . Why strangle sport with red tape where there's never been a problem before . If they ain't good enough , they get shipped out and the promotion that took a punt has seen their gamble fail .
  6. Leagues have been won in the past with promotions " taking a punt " . Darcy Ward joined Kings Lynn on a 5 point average when he first came over . Ok he was rumoured to have potential , but you just never know how they'll adjust . Ivan Mauger didn't set the heather on fire on his first try on these shores .
  7. That's a ridiculous statement . Both are extremely exciting riders to watch at PL level
  8. But that's just it , you just don't know what you're going to get . Both Josh Grajczonek and Mitchell Davey joined Glasgow at the same time . One made it , one didn't . If the beaurocrats have their way , Josh wouldn't have had a relatively successful career . Scottish clubs have went down the Australian route for decades , because a lot of British riders don't want to travel north . From that perspective it harms our clubs
  9. Rubbish . Ok we dont live in Elite League land , but over the last few years we have been greatly entertained by the likes of Shane Parker , Rusty Harrison , Kozza Smith etc . Ok they might be second rate to EL supporters , but they have graced our league and entertained us greatly . It would be sad to say goodbye to their like
  10. Maybe this visa nonsense played it's part in us forking out over the odds , still lets hope he turns out to be a successful Glasgow Tiger , he's still young enough to improve
  11. Let's hope common sense prevails and this nonsense is resolved . Our sport would be much the poorer without the Aussies
  12. he had one or two other problems , if it's the same one you're hinting at
  13. How can speedway possibly have a problem with this visa thing with all the know alls on here
  14. According to The Sun this morning John Campbell says the visa thing isn't an issue for Masters and Sedgmen . Everything is cleared . Mind you that is The Sun and not Kinvig in the Smugburgh Evening News
  15. This is such a shame that the visa thing has now escalated to this . Whatever your point of view on the subject , there's no doubt speedway will be all the poorer if this is about the end of the Aussies in speedway over here . They have graced our leagues since league speedway began and it's another nail in the coffin for the sport we all love .
  16. From what i saw of Lewis Blackbird , before his injury , last year . If there's no ill effects he could improve a lot on 6.30 .
  17. Suppose you make a fair argument , but i'm a die hard and the Spring Trophy zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  18. you think , we get sick of the sight of Edinburgh , as they do us
  19. I know , you would have thought they would have went all out to get a really big opening meeting against an EL club . But alas no , the Big Spring in a daud of plywood against the Smugs
  20. Let's get over it , Wolbert has gone . I'm hoping this year Dimitri Berge can stay injury free and put a couple of points on his average . The potential we saw last year certainly suggests that is possible
