  1. Nah , what's the point of that ? It's not as if we're losing home meetings or owt like that , no need to panic .
  2. True , we did manage to get at least a point out of the meeting
  3. That's a blow , but credit Newcastle they must have dug really deep being so understrength . Credit where credit's due , but that should have been a fixture we should have been looking to win .
  4. Think we'll wait and see if it becomes the one league at some point in the future . We have Edinburgh , Berwick , Workington and Newcastle all reasonably close , our EL local derby would be Belle Vue . Let's establish ourselves among the PL big guns for now
  5. Very entertaining afternoon yesterday , Diamonds made a good fight of it thugh we chucked a few points away . Great to see young James being rewarded with heat 15 as his riding deserved it . Though I wish Coventry would rearrange all their fixtures that clash with ours , that would be very helpful
  6. Haven't seen him on here for a while come to think of it , hope he's ok
  7. Well after the usual bright and sunny weather for most of the week , the hope is that the raingod takes a day off on Sunday and graciously allows us some speedway . The Diamonds are the visitors and they seem to be struggling a bit lately . Easily brushed aside at Berwick last Saturday and Smugged last Sunday . The boast young Lewis Kerr at number 1 , decent when he gates , and ex-Smug Stevie Worrall . They will both trouble us , but after that it's anybodies guess . The lesser Lindgren has been poor at Ashfield in the past and Christian Henry seems to be going through a rough patch of form . I'm assuming Rosen is still injured and it will be r/r at 2 and young reserve Lewis Rose is also struggling for points and appears to be going through a crisis of confidence at present . They used guest reserves last weekend , so who knows if Neilsen will be riding or not . We will be itching to get back into action after a catalogue of rain offs either side of our TV spectacular . So fingers crossed we get this on and start putting points on the board to climb up the league table , which has it's usual disjointed appearance at the moment .
  8. You've been there and done it the other way round , it happens and there's nothing anyone can do
  9. Oh well , nothing else that could have been done really . Started raining as soon as I got off the train at Ipswich station at quarter to two and it never stopped thereafter . Still I had a very nice curry with the Morris clan in a place called Ghandi's ( who'd have thought that one up ) so we had a good night out in Ipswich anyway .
  10. I appreciate now that the Panthers promotion are blameless in this instance , our annoyance was the timing and we couldn't believe this clash only came to light 5 days before the scheduled match . And to answer the earlier poster , I am a seasoned speedway traveller and I had used the pay later option with the hotel and was able to cancel . My irritation was only because I wanted to see my team race on one of my favourite tracks and was really looking forward to it
  11. Entertaining enough meeting though Newcastle faded badly . Bandits only had two last places and one of those was when Barker fell while leading . That tells you how easy it was for Berwick . Worrall and Kerr ( when he gated ) were good , but I was really disappointed in Christian . Bandits hadn't a failure . Track looked really good and we had a few decent scraps on it , so all in all nobody had any reason to complain
  12. For the neutral , though we did roar on Theo and Kasper , that was well worth the visit . Some of the racing was absolutely breathtaking . Scunny having no luck at all with injuries and how Alex Davies walked away from his off was amazing , but a relief . Rye would still have won had Auty and Davies been able to continue and Jakobsen had you watching through your fingers at times , but what entertainment . Shame that fantastic racetrack isn't graced with full houses , I for one will certainly be back this season
  13. Just back home from my southern adventures . Decent enough meeting after a processional first few heats . Robert Lambert certainly provided the entertainment , shame he wasn't given heat 15 but I found out he was ill and was touch and go whether to ride at all . Good to see Trees , Jotrez , Gordon Bennett and Superguest there and we had a great hour or so in the bar afterwards chatting with Buster and Rob Lyon and the Lynn faithful . We even had a scarf swap . Really nice people that made our visit really enjoyable
  14. Why ? They have been cruelly robbed of a rider's services . Only fit and proper that they can remain competitive until they can sign an EU dud to replace Procter .
  15. Fair enough , the know alls are right and rules are rules and all that nonsense . But it's morally wrong , are these riders doing a 6 point Brit out a job , of course they're not . So Sheffield , and probably us , will have to draft in some European who wouldn't be able to tie the likes of Proctors laces . Between rain , the ineptitude of the Peterborough promotion and now more red tape nonsense , it's not been a good week so far .
  16. Will Sheffield be allowed to use r/r tonight at least , or are the beaurocrats determined to kill off speedway for good ?
  17. Has Rory Schlein been dropped then ?
  18. See you there Trees , should be an interesting meeting
  19. Deserved or not , they were issued . That should have been the end of it until the nonsense starts again two weeks before next season starts
  20. It really is , you should get your visa for the season and that's the end of it . If you're crap then you've got problems next year . But clubs and riders cant work under these circumstances , it's just daft
  21. That's work done with for the week , despite the Peterborough promotion's best efforts to ruin my week away , the 5 days of speedway starts now ..................................erm weather permitting of course
  22. Losing the will to live with speedway , rain off after rain off , this one's not riding as it's the Tunisian Best Pairs or something equally as trivial . Stadiums being used for the East Anglian tiddlywinks championship and someone just notices that we cant have the speedway 5 days before we're due to roll up . Really losing patience with it all
