  1. The arrogance is breathtaking . We want both teams at full strength for this so there is no excuses
  2. Great day out as usual , wasn't a great meeting but individuals very rarely are . Surprising , but deserved winner . Two Glasgow riders were a bit disappointing , but they usually are in this event , no winner since the great Robert Nagy in 92 . Thought the crowd was a bit down on recent years , the pub certainly was beforehand .
  3. I fear Victor's absence at reserve is going to be the deciding factor in this tie , especially tonight . He's done well on small , tight away tracks and I really cant see Carr and Stichauer doing much at Brough . We did as well as we could today , but whether 6 points will be enough of a lead is questionable . Summers and Lawson were superb again until Richard must have had bike issues prior to heat 13 and just missed the two minutes when he appeared on Aaron's bike . I feel for young James now , he has this reputation as a roller at the starts , and it seems everytime he makes a start now the referees bring the race back . That happened today and I didn't see much wrong with the gate he made and it was noticeable in a couple of his races that he was slowest from the start as if he was over compensating . Anyway we had some incredibly fast times today , either that or Mr M Mouse supplied the stopwatch cause the existing track record was beaten 5 times and Hynek 57.7 in heat 2 !!!! seriously haha
  4. Kus is an enigma , at Ashfield he can be brilliant or dreadful , there's no middle ground . He did suffer from mechanical problems last time , when up with Redcar , so we'll see But it's more about us than the threat Newcastle might provide . None of this throwing away silly points like we have been doing , we need at least a 12 point lead to take down there
  5. Don't think we'll ever get back to the halcyon days when there was well over 20 clubs in the second tier of British speedway , and there was quite a few in the top league . But something has got to change because the doubling up thing has spiralled out of control and nobody knows who's riding for who these days
  6. Was me who was doing the texting and I offered my opinion on the heat 7 incident . The referee's opinion agreed with mine and he excluded Richard Lawson . In a meeting between two sides near the top of the table , at the tickly bit of the season , you're going to get committed racing and sometimes it gets a wee bit too committed , as was the case on a few occasions on Sunday . Likewise , depending on which side you support , certain incidents are going to cause outrage and some are going to be conveniently forgotten about . Every club's supporters do that , even your own moral highground dwellers . Nick Morris was painted the anti-Christ after the Tabaka crash , but numerous acts of naughtiness by Ryan Fisher in a Monarchs racebib were shrugged off . That's just human nature . Can never understand why mechanics always feel they have to get involved when something like this happens . Being a rider's minder shouldn't be in the job description
  7. The BSF has enhanced my enjoyment of speedway . I used to go to the meeting , go home and forget about speedway till the next meeting . I didn't even know what a Monarch looked like and that they didn't really eat their children . Now I can talk about speedway 7 days a week to my hearts content and have a bit of fun with them as well .
  8. Just one of those days when incidents , outwith anyone's control , happens . I had to leave before the end of the meeting myself . I hope that doesn't put you off visiting us again .
  9. Good to see a bit of fisty cuffs at the speedway again , we've not had that since Grievesy retired , well done Richie Worrall
  10. Fair assessment Davy , nice to see you again . And I was there in my role as Scottish tour guide for a visiting Newport Wasp contingent
  11. Sitting in the stand last night , the atmosphere was much like it was at Glasgow two years ago . The apathy seemed to be passed from the terraces to the riders . That was as flat a performance as I've seen all season . I hope there's somebody out there that can breathe new life into Shielfield Park
  12. Well done Somerset , weathered the early Tigers storm and recovered to be worthy winners . Looks like second place might have gone today , but we'll keep fighting . Hope Nick is none the worst after today's tumbles . but 3 hour meetings are a war of attrition
  13. Anyway , back to the topic at hand . My earlier comment about Darcy being naturally talented , what I meant by that was that I don't think there is a rider today more in complete control of his speedway bike during a race than Darcy Ward . It's like he can position the bike , make up ground , overtake an opponent etc almost at will and make it look so easy . Gollob at Bydgoszcz being the closest to that in recent years . I've no doubt that if Darcy cuts out the off track nonsense , he will be the best speedway rider in the world for at least the next 5 years .
  14. I think he's certainty to win one at least . The most naturally gifted rider in the sport at the moment
  15. The forecast never looks too clever , I wouldn't worry too much yet
  16. Me too . Got the Newport crowd up this weekend , so we're doing the dump , Berwick then the Peugeot international Arena . Hope the weather plays nice .
  17. If we can win this , then that should be enough to clinch the runners up spot and direct entry to the play off semi finals . Wont be easy cause as well as Kurtz there's Josh , Richie Worrall and Charles Wright to contend with . Should be a cracker of a meeting
  18. That and all the guesting , must take it's toll . The inexperience reared it's head in the PL pairs final and you wonder if it will in a crunch play off heat . However he is a real talent and a GP rider in the making in 3 or 4 years time
  19. Be an accomplishment and a testimony to their progress if Plymouth could make the play offs , I wish them well , However Edinburgh are looking annoyingly efficient once again at this stage of the season , and it's hard to see anyone beating them over two legs
  20. So is ours , what are you suggesting haha ?
