  1. Anyway back to the meeting . After watching Zmarslik heave and elbow another rider into the fence on Saturday night , and as usual get away with it . It was a joy watching Harris and Masters give each other room to race and thrill the crowd with amazing four laps of speedway in heats 13 and 15 .
  2. That was an awesome meeting last night , track was good and the riders , well most of them , put on a great show for the public . For us 1 Chris Harris - sublime 2 Jack Smith - mince 3 Anders Rowe - get him signed for next year 4 Matic Ivacic - utter mince 5 Leon Flint - brilliant 6 James Pearson - brilliant 7 Tom Spencer - did as well as we could expect Redcar 1 Charles Wright - rode well , no match for Harris though 3 Danyon Hume - started well before fading 4 Jason Edwards - very impressive 5 Danny King- past it 6 Ben Trigger - did as well as can be expected 7 Jake Mulford- looked very fast The heat 14 tactical sub put the kibosh on our lingering hopes for the bonus , but it was a cracking encounter .
  3. Canny beat a bit of accuracy , and it was spot on . Decent enough meeting , Pickering was brilliant , had support from Thomson but that was it . For us wee James was the stand out performer . Will 10 points be enough for the bonus point , dont think it really matters now , always good to beat the Monarchs though .
  4. So it is Bomber and Anders tomorrow in the Pairs . As for the argument against Anders , did Craig Watson not make his Tigers debut in the Pairs at Somerset a few years back ? I dont buy into this he must have ridden so many matches nonsense , if he's a signed rider then he can ride .
  5. Riders are basically self employed so you can't stop them an extra earning potential. But it only highlights how ridiculous our sport can be . If in particular Bomber and Flint have good meetings for Workington today , then they severely damage their own club's play off chances
  6. If I knew it was going to be a Workington/Glasgow select side I might have made the journey down
  7. Oh I know , it was nearly a dust off when we were there a few weeks back , I had to leave bend one and retire to the bar
  8. Well since you ask . The tractor racing is actually a very important function during a speedway meeting . They appear at the end of every four heats , well it takes around four heats to savour a pint in its entirety. Ok if there is a couple of reruns one might have to go thirsty for a few minutes . But Ted the tractor man strutting his stuff every four heats gives me just enough time to go for a refill
  9. We coped when there was about 20 teams in our league ,and we had the fours too
  10. I go and get a pint when the tractor racing comes on
  11. Bought my ticket , can't wait for this again , love going to Oxford
  12. He's really improved a lot this season , just a pity he left us , but maybe travelling up here every week was getting a bit much
  13. The score at Workington this afternoon shows what an effort it was by us last night to take the Pirates to a last heat decider
  14. Depends on the league structure next season, but If its the same then it has to be two home and two away
  15. But it is unfortunate that it wasn't filmed because you wouldn't see a better meeting anywhere than what was served up last night . To be honest I was pleasantly surprised we took it to a last heat decider because going to the track I feared the worst for us , but we battled well . Yes the changes haven't improved us any , and I don't think we will make the play offs now , but we have a track which probably produces the most exciting racing in the country , that will do for me . And I dont see how anyone can stop that Pirates side winning everything this season and credit to them , they seem to get their team building spot on every winter .
  16. Speedway was the winner tonight , Harris and Ben Cook just wow . Why BSN chose to go 30 miles up the road for a basement battle is beyond me
  17. It would appear not to be the case now . We were told that at the track last week , but now Anders Rowe has been named
  18. Its Eric Riss for Steve Worrall on Friday . Can we cope with Poole's scary heat leader trio ? Did you see how well the lesser Cook rode last night in the telly meeting ? Sam Hagen isn't too shabby round our place either.......God help.us
  19. Happened right in front of me , Mountain turned right on him
  20. Well that's another mid season break almost over and we come back with a new line up . Banished to the speedway abyss are Paul Starke and Ace Pijper and keeping the NHS busy with his ears is Steve Worrall . In come a Slovenian and a 36 year old rising star , plus our guest straight out the bookies , Ben Barker . 20 points to make up for the bonus point , think we can forget that unless messes Howsrth , Palm Tree , Allen etc have off nights . I will happily settle for just winning the meeting , though I think it will be close .
