  1. It was good to see Olching feature so much. I’ve been there a few times as we are friends with Martin Smolinski. In fact a group of us stayed in Olching a few weeks ago when we visited the Munich Oktoberfest!
  2. I didn’t understand a word of it but thanks for sharing it on here. I really enjoyed it.
  3. The Speedway season at the NSSC never ends. We are delighted to say that Chris Morton will be our next guest at the Brandon Club on Tuesday 5th November. Tapes up at 8pm. There’s obviously plenty to discuss apart from his illustrious career including the mammoth cycle ride from Cardiff to Wrocław and the awarding of the SGP to the National Speedway Stadium. Everyone welcome. Only £4 entry with all proceeds for the GB Young Lions. Venue details; Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW. We will also have a stall at the Speedway Show which is being held at the British Motor Musem at Gaydon on the 2nd November. We have over 1500 Coventry programmes, many books from the 1930’s & 50’s to 80’s and a fine collection of original photos from the 1940’s & 50’s. All for sale with proceeds for the GB Young Lions.
  4. I am just getting stuff together for the Speedway Show which will be at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, on 2nd November 2024. We (the NSSC) have a copy of ‘My Two Lives’ by Erik Gundersen for sale. If anyone is interested in making an offer before the show please email nsscspeedway@gmail.com Please bear in mind that all profits from this sale will go to help Neil Vatcher and the GB Young Lions.
  5. It looks like Oxford have contacted those with tickets via WhatsApp and email but nothing yet on their X account or website. Good job the grapevine works better!
  6. Is this meeting on? There’s no mention of it on their X account and no preview on their website as far as I can see.
  7. Gary Guglielmi at Coventry. When he first arrived he couldn’t finish a second half novices race, he kept falling. It became a standing joke as to which lap and corner he would fall at. Although off track situations blighted his career he became a very good rider.
  8. The NSSC are hosting a special event on Tuesday 7th May at the Brandon Club. Starting at 8pm, Paul Ackroyd, David Norris and Gary Havelock will be discussing the work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Although at times it is a solemn but necessary subject there will be plenty of opportunity for David & Gary to entertain the audience with tales of past adventures. It promises to be a great event with all proceeds for the SRBF. Everyone welcome only £4 entry. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk
  9. Our first Ice Speedway meeting. Amazing, fantastic, terrifying !!! Didn't expect so many close races. Heat 19 and the Final stood out from many others. Also, no practice starts and faffing about at the tapes. So refreshing. Brilliant and going to do it all again tomorrow!
  10. With thanks to Neil Vatcher we have added a full list of British Youth Champions to the NSSC website. There are some familiar names on the list and, sadly, several who are no longer racing. Take a look; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/british-youth-champions/
  11. Thank you so much for your positive comments. I’m really pleased you gave us a try and enjoyed the evening. Completely agree with your comments regarding Dan and Jason. Hopefully we will see you again at future events.
  12. It’s a cold night but a warm welcome awaits anyone who fancies a trip to the Brandon Club for an evening of speedway chatter with Phil Morris. Tapes up at 8pm. It’s only £4 for entry with all proceeds going to help GB Youth Speedway. The Club offers a good range of beers, hot drinks and light snacks. Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW
  13. Happy New Year to everyone!Phil Morris is first out of the traps in 2024, as the NSSC welcomes this hugely respected and influential figure as our first guest on Tuesday 16th January. In addition to his role as FIM SGP Race Director, Phil was appointed as CEO of British Speedway Premiership in March 2023 and it will be fascinating to hear from Phil about what his role entails and his hopes and expectations for the top tier of British Speedway going forward. We hope that you can join us as we extend a warm welcome to Phil. The meeting starts at 8pm and everyone is welcome.Venue: Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, CV8 3HW Entrance fee for members £2.00 Entrance fee for non-members £4.00 All proceeds from the entrance fee and raffle tickets go towards helping British Youth Speedway, through our association with the Young Lions. All details and more events; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk
  14. Apologies if I’ve missed it somewhere but are the Swedish fixtures out yet? I’ve just spent ages stumbling around the internet and can see that the 2023 Elitserien fixtures were announced in November 2022 and the Allsvenskan in mid January 2023. But haven’t found this years fixtures yet. We managed to go to Piraterna and Vargarna last year and will be trying to organise a holiday to take in some or all of Ornarna, Griparna, Solkatterna and Vikingarna this year. We will then have visited all the Swedish tracks …… as they stand.
  15. Chris Van Straaten is the guest at the NSSC tomorrow night. (14th November at 8pm) Everyone is welcome at the Brandon Club (just down the road from the stadium) with £4 for entry. All proceeds go to help GB Youth Speedway and all details are here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk
