  1. There is a rule that you can be excluded for not making a bonafide effort to race. There is also a rule that you can be excluded for falling off. Is falling off also cheating then? No problem with Bachelor being excluded. I just don't think it's cheating to try and use the joker if it is an option. Otherwise it shouldn't be an option. It's been a rule for a long time. I remember SteveGresham getting excluded at Swindon for not trying.
  2. Whilst it was rather funny watching thevAussies mess up, I don't see why people are saying they were cheating. If there is a rule that enables you to benefit from being behind by a certain amount of points then it's perfectly legitimate to play for it as far as I'm concerned. It's a stupid rule, but as long as It is there it needs to be played for.
  3. I really hope we get to keep riders like Zak and Adam last year. Adam struggled at the start of the year, but had found his feet now. We suffered a bit through his slow start, it would be a shame not to benefit from his improvement. Zak, I think, could be a bit special. Even at the start of the year, as a supposed 2 point struggler, he was scoring. Next year, we could go with 5 or 6 members of this side and have a really good team. If only the sport enabled consistency. The side was chosen with improvement in mind. I just hope it is Swindon who benefit from such improvement next season. With Lakeside in the NL, I don't see why we can't retain these 2 at least, and possibly make them assets.
  4. The races can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFWaxpcNP-s Hilarious. Joker was shown up for what it is, and should have been scrapped right there and then, but instead they decide that the riders are in the wrong. Now they even have a joker race jacket, which says to me they are pretty proud of their joker rule.
  5. Not sure if that's true. My daughter - who has no interest in speedway whatsover - watched the King's Lynn round and got really into it because GB was winning. She even said she wished she was coming to Cardiff with us afterwards and fancied going to speedway sometimes.
  6. It will be interesting to see what does happen if these points are adressed. It certainly seems to be the case regarding nutrition at least! He did, of course, make himself available for the World Games so there is certainly some common ground there, but it remains to be seen. There's no point rying to second guess people I suppose. It's just a shame. With Tai in the side we'd be odds on for a silver medal again I reckon so I wish everyone on all sides would just get together and sort out whatever needs to be sorted out.
  7. It's not irrelevant. It's wishful thinking. And I actually think he is quite keen to represent GB but is frustrated and trying to make a point.
  8. We'd have a much better chance with Tai Woffinden in for Lambert and Lambert at reserve, though.
  9. I wondered that myself, but the point has been made on about 3 different threads so I began to have my doubts. Actually if Woffy is an Aussie, Adam isn't French because they are different scenarios because Adam was born in France. If Adam is French then Jason Crump is British is a better parallel, but nobody seriously considers Crump British, so, therefore, if it is a joke it doesn't work.
  10. There was an Aussie who rode in the 80s. What was his name? Dave... something.... Oh yeah, Dave Cheshire.
  11. To British parents. He's British in the same way that Jason Crump is Australian.
  12. I also saw a picture on social media of the team in a proper restaurant with, like, knives and forks and eveything. Maybe Woffinden is being listened to and maybe these things are being done to help to tempt him back.
  13. Not sure if it was 3 of the 5. Harris, Cook and Lambert weren't part of it I believe. Worrall was at Swindon as a draft rider. Not sure about Ellis. Was he at Poole?
  14. It's a question that I have often asked as it doesn't ever seem to be properly confirmed one way or the other, so SCB was answering a question that I have asked before. And, before you assume it does, no it doesn't bother me.
  15. I really don't understand the mentality of people who go onto social media and start having a go at someone in the public eye. I really do think there is something wrong in their heads, and there seem to be quite a few people who feel the need to do it. I didn't see any of it, because Tai obviously felt later that he should delete his responses after he'd calmed his head, but I don't blame him. Of people really feel the need to have a pop then they can't really be surprised if they get something back. Actually, being insulted back by Tai probably made their days anyway.
  16. I can't see anything on his Twitter that would provoke this comment, although I am incredibly bad at working out Twitter. Perhaps you should tell us what he put that has incensed you so much.
  17. I kind of agree, but, having said that, Suzi Perry is something of a 'name' in motor sport presenting these days so it's a good thing to have her on board.
  18. I asume you mean "wouldn't". In World terms I would agree, but in club terms it's a whole different matter.
  19. You say that as if it is a bad thing.
  20. Completely wrong, as always. The reason Swindon don't want him to ride is so they can have a guest for Nick Morris. If you're going to be a Swindon troll, at least get your trolling correct.
  21. You might make a reassessment of that if you see his most recent match at Berwick on updates. Includes the comment "Gappmaier tailed off well at the back". And that's in division 2. Adam is the man in the bottom of the side for me. Clearly needed to hold back on his scoring in our last home match. He's ready to go, I reckon. As you say, though, no point in just signing someone for the sake of it. After the way we rode against Rye House, a full strength side may well have beaten Wolves tonight. The side we have out, however, has no chance, but that's just bad luck with injuries.
  22. This is the sort of match that will kill speedway off in this country. Not only because Swindon are very much weakened by absences whereas Wolves are strengthened by them, but also this is the third match running where Troy Bachelor is riding at Blunsdon and for the third different team. It is very hard to explain that to casual supporters. The better option is not to take them to this one. Danny King for Kyle Howarth? How does that work? Has King been particularly bad this year or has Howarth been particularly good?
