  1. Maybe someone could get them a gramaphone or something so they can play some 45s.
  2. Looks like Belle Vue have solved the problem of poor presentation at speedway by having no presentation whatsoever!
  3. If we had had Klindt tonight he would have scored about 3 points instead. He was fired up because we sacked him, that's all, and still got beat by out fast track reserve in one race. I'd agree. Much prefer Dakota North.
  4. Yes he was. He's top of the averages. The only reason I could see for not using rr was if PK was going to come out again.
  5. Looks like Swindon are trying as hard as they can to chuck this away. Plus no Kildermand in 15 so obviously could have used rr in 13.
  6. I was wondering that. Unless Kildermand just missed 2 minutes.
  7. I remember averages remaining unchanged when Oxford pulled out of the league
  8. I shall probably be going next year. I've got a Hotel booked, anyway. Booked into The Hilton, which was fairly expensive, but I often stay in London Hotels and it's no more expensive than they are. Plus, it seems they didn't put their prices up. I tried for a room in a couple of weeks time, just to see, and that was actually more expensive. One in about 6 months time was about the same. Planning to go mainly because my son has got more into speedway lately, plus t'wife enjoys it. Alo, having a genuine British title contender makes it more appealing too. I think the last time I went was 2007, so first time for a while should I actually make it!
  9. There do seem to be an awful lot of instances this year where a lot comes down to who can get in first with the best guest. Not really great for credibility.
  10. If you had the top riders spread over 18 teams, with number ones having the choice of gates and riding the old 13 heat formula where they raced each other just once and included bonus points in their average you'd get plenty of 10 point plus riders. It's nothing to do with how good they were then and now. I don't see a Mauger or a Neilsen, though, who would consistently average over 11.
  11. It wasn't our team. I was originally thinking of going but once I saw the line ups I lost interest. Nothing to do with whether or not Swindon would or could win. Looks like Leicester messed up the TR, but you have to remember he would have discussed it with the riders. Maybe the manager will learn from this to be stronger with his riders. Steady, after all, is always modest of his own capabilities. Manager should have just told him he wad on the TR and no arguments. Good result for 'Swindon' though. This wasn't a collapse by the Robins. We were always likely to concede heats 13 and 15 so had to get the job done in the other heats.
  12. The first time I saw Tai ride was at Sheffield. I think he was 16 and he just shot out from the start and flew round there, annihilating all the other reserves. I remember thinking he was brilliant and could be a future World Champion. Then I remember thinking a few years later how it's a shame how he never really lived up to that potential. So I'm not sure if I was right or wrong.
  13. Hopefully this will be rerranged. Because I work in London it is difficult for me to get to mostSwindon matches so I was thinking of going to this one as it is on a Saturday. Obviously I won't be going with these line ups.
  14. Another legendary performance by those so mighty. Nobody can chuck away a big lead with the same amount of skill as we can. So people are criticising the choice of Belago as a guest. Kind of ironic seeing as there were calls for us to sign him in the winter.
  15. Seriously? I used to write for Speedway Mail and got nearly all my information from what was said over the tannoy at Reading on a Monday evening. Still, if you prefer that, then thanks for the compliment.
  16. Wow. People talk about gaps between races in the uk but it seems a lot worse in Poland.
  17. It's amazing, reading some of the posts on here and also on the Speedway Facebook groups. You can't help but wonder if some sort of collective insanity has got into the heads of many speedway supporters around the country. So much venom and abuse over a few rain offs, as if there is some sort of conspiracy being run throughout the speedway establishment. It's crazy. I'm sure there was a time when people in speedway used to take notice of this forum, and sometimes opinions and posts on here would have an effect. Not any more though, I suspect. Because there's so much nonsense on here. The world's gone stupid. And as for the stick and abuse aimed at Rosco, let's look at the rain-offs this year. At Coventry, the match should have been called off at heat 9, but they forced through to heat 10 to a result. this is because of the rule that they seem obsessed with on Sky. get to heat 10. get a result. Rosco wasn't happy. Conclusion - Rosco doesn't agree with forcing matches to heat 10 and then calling them off just to get a result. Swindon v Birmingham - the weather became progressively worse throughout the evening. Meeting was abandoned. Rosco said over he PA that it could have possibly been forced through to heat 10 to get a result, but that wouldn't be fair. Conclusion - Rosco doesn't agree with forcing matches to heat 10 and then calling them off just to get a result. At home to Belle Vue. Sky kept on about calling the match at heat 10. Belle Vue's top 2 were clearly unhappy with conditions, as were many Swindon riders. They made a call at heat 10 to give it longer before calling it off. Conclusion - Rosco doesn't agree with forcing matches to heat 10 and then calling them off just to get a result. Last night at Birmingham. Rosco says on TV that he doesn't agree with forcing matches to heat 10 and then calling them off to get a result. Conclusion - Rosco doesn't agree with forcing matches to heat 10 and then calling them off just to get a result. It's the same stance he's taken every time, and it's a sensible one.
  18. It's a non argument isn't it. If what was being said was true Rosco would have wanted it called off after heat 10 last week. JL is contradicting himself. He didn't have a polar view last week.
  19. He wants to go past heat 10 tonight. And he's losing.
  20. I must have missed that one. When did Rosco want to rush a meeting through to heat 10 and then call it off?
  21. Easy win for the mighty Robins, with Gustafsson unbeaten now that Rosco's given him his confidence back.
