  1. I had an email saying they are no longer being sent to the Principality Stadium App, but now being sent to the See Tickets App, which needs to now be installed. I've installed it, but don't have any tickets there yet as far as I can tell. Pain in the backside quite frankly! EDIT - found them now. Just to be awkward, you have to locate them and download them. They don't appear automatically.
  2. Why are peoole wetting their pants over a green light start? This has been the standard procedure for years if the tapes fail. Most motor sports start on lights anyway so it's no big deal. Better than calling it off surely. Not sure about the green flag thing though. Why not put the red lights on for starters orders then riders go when it goes out.
  3. What about Tennis? You win first set 6-0. You are 1-0 up. You win second set 6-0. You are 2-0 up You lose the next 3 sets 6-7. You win 30 games. Your opponent wins 21 games. You lose 3-2. And that's before even going into the number of actual points, which are also immediately wiped out in favour of the number of games.
  4. Exactly. I seem to remember that I wasn't keen when they bought this scoring system in but I like it now. Position in a meeting still counts so they still need to race for every point, and the winner of the meeting gets most points. It does make sense.
  5. I used to go round the pits after a meeting and scrape my autograph book across rear tyres of bikes then write down whose bike the dirt came from and the date.
  6. Boxing is different as women and men don"t compete against each other. Celina was quite a way back in some of her races, but ahe wasn't the only one. She rode better when the track improved and showed that she was at least better than the track reserve. Maybe she did get the spot in the meeting because she is a woman, but it's good to have a female rider and it probably added a bit of interest to the meeting.
  7. It would have been Tommy Jansson's autograph if my mum hadn't had a clear-out of my old bedroom after I left home and chucked out my autograph books.
  8. Natalie covers Moto GP for BT Sport now. I would assume this is a better gig than league speedway on Eurosport.
  9. Another good thing with David Rowe is his analysis of what is going on. He did the European championships on Eurosport and gave an excellent heat-by-heat breakdown of who needed what for final positions and stuff like that.
  10. It was someone called Alize Lim. Definite TILF - but a rubbish presenter.
  11. Considering Nigel and Dave Lanning both did darts, might it be worth looking in the Darts world for someone I wonder? It is very much the Eurosport way to use former participants though. I signed up for Discovery+ during the Australian Open tennis and they had a female former player presenting - presumably because she looked good. She was an absolute disaster. It will be interesting to see if they use her again for the French Open next week.
  12. He's back. Now we know that the clutch cooler cools the clutch down. Love Sam.
  13. I thought to myself when watching his first race that he looked like he was riding the track the same as he would ride Belle Vue.
  14. Looking here: FIM Speedway GP 2022 Ticketing Information - Help Centre (principalitystadium.wales) it would seem that the only option you have is on a phone app. If you don't have that, I guess you need to go to the ticket office upon arrival. What happens if I lose my phone prior to the event? Please visit the WRU Ticket Office which is located between gates 3 & 4 of Principality Stadium on Westgate Street. What happens if my phone battery dies before the event? Please visit the WRU Ticket Office which is located between gates 3 & 4 of Principality Stadium on Westgate Street. It seems that this is a Principality Stadium thing rather than a Speedway GP organisers thing. Welsh Rugby Union | Wales & Regions | Digital Ticketing (wru.wales)
  15. Worth watching for Sam's anslysis moments on Discovery+. Better than Alan Partridge.
  16. I think so, yes. Certainly Chris and Kelvin aren't aware of it if it's true.
  17. Certainly looks like it. If this is true I'm surprised it hasn't been made more widely known. That is quite a big change.
  18. Not arguing. No issue. Just pointing out that the forecast was mentioned as part of the reason for the cancellation, which was why people were talking about meetings being called off as a result of the forecast.
  19. The club statement did say: "This is due to inclement weather with more forecast throughout the day in the city" which is why people are talking about the forecast.
  20. Forecast show rain now until about 11. Then dry until 4pm. Then sunshine and showers until about 7. Then a dry evening. That would not have been a rain-off a few years back. I think these are financial decisions as they feel the crowd might be down.
  21. I'm not in Sheffield, but the forecast seems ok. Just showers and sun in the afternoon with a dry evening.
  22. What is going on with these cancellations? Surely people are going to lose interest if meetings are "rained-off" like this. It seems a bit foolish to me.
