  1. Wow what? You said he couldn't pass, but he did.
  2. This is good stuff from Poole. Can they pull it off?
  3. Dunno, but the interesting thing is... Doesn't the rider now have to be clearly sponsored by the club that he is riding for. So, if he IS applying for a visa, then he must have been already signed by someone.
  4. I don't see how you can say Pedersen dominated Rickardsson. Using "the time they rode together" is a bit selective. That's a bit like saying Ole Olsen dominated Barry Briggs. It's not really relevant.
  5. How come AM isn't riding? I thought he was back in the side. (Just kidding)
  6. I suspect Kyle is more at risk due to the doubling up issue.
  7. I'm sure Miedzinski was just asked to turn up tonight to ensure we could redeclare. I remember him riding like this when he was at Oxford. It'll be a shame if we get rid of Howarth or Zengota, but that's the only way Ward will be there. Good from Charles Wright. Deserved his extra ride. It's really odd just how hard it seems to be to pass at Leicester!
  8. He rode at the start of the season. That's when he got injured.
  9. They had 5 people in that race at one point.
  10. It's at 13:40 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGlxKlI59DE I would say that the guy doubling for the actor is Trevor Geer.
  11. I wouldn't go that far but it was a good close match. What is this 'my league's better than your league' nonsense we always get from supporters of lower league sides?
  12. Just looked at the Peterborough offer, and it seems and odd one I agree. I got slightly confused reading it. I was skeptical about the "advance" partof the Swindon offer though, and that worked a treat, so best to see how it works first. Leicester seem to have done a good one, with adverts offering £7.50 admission with the voucher, plus vouchers fro a free hotdog and a free pint. Be interesting to see how many they get in for that. It's clear that people tend to stay away from Sky matches on normal admission, but give them a good offer and they will come. They should use these Sky matches as a form of promoting the sport and get people in for them. And even if only a handful come back, they've made gains.
  13. The way averages have a hold on the port you would expect managers to do this. However, I'm not convinced that all of them do. Although, with the current situation at Swindon and the look for a number one I guess they are more likely to be doing so at the moment than at other times.
  14. TR doesn't need simplifying. It needs getting rid.
  15. To be honest, when Tim Sugar was manager of Reading he was the expert at getting the most out of the rules and I always admired him for it. The only time I've really had a problem with it is when the paying public are cheated by a team just chucking the match away from the start. That's taking things a bit too far. But if rules are there to be taken advantage of then go for it, I say. I'd do it.
  16. Kind of strange that Coventry fans seem to be making most noise on this, when their team is probably more guilty than any about average manipulation over time. Anyway, averages are there to be used to your advantage so if Swindon did do any - which I doubt - then good for them. It's frustrated me in the past when such opportunities have presented themselves and we haven't taken advantage of them. My own feeling is, though, that I don't think rosco is the type of manager to look into the finer points of the averages and work out such small margins as are being spoke about here. In fact, if it wasn't for SCB's original posts I doubt anyone would have even noticed this. Certainly not the local paper that is now reporting it. So if you - the sports self proclaimed stats expert - can't quite work it out, how come Rosco and Troy Bachelor can?
  17. They are still paid the same. Do riders really care about their averages unless specifically told about them for a specific reason. EG - get your average up, you need a work permit. Or, get your average down, we need to strengthen the side. Either way, again, it works both ways. Plusses and minuses on either side.
  18. Except it's generally better to have a lower average rather than a higher one. It's a double edged sword really. Take out the bonus points and you lose out the points like that where you follow a partner home. Then again, you also include the extra points for someone tootling round in third half a lap behind where someone else had an engine failure.
  19. True. But people who know about it in that much detail aren't going to have a problem working out bonus points anyway. On a simple basis 3-2-1-0 works just fine. Can't see a reason to introduce anything that would complicate that. They've already done enough of that with the TR.
  20. I always support British riders in international meetings. I barely notice Troy Bachelor when watching the GPs. I think fans are a lot better at supporting British riders nowadays than they used to be. You used to get quite a lot supporters cheering for the USA against Britain in Test Matches.
  21. Why do you need to work out bonus points these days? they aren't in the averages. I still like to put my little dot in my programme when filling out scores, but its just out of my own interest. You don't need it.
  22. I would think that was more because it was a Grand Prix whereas the Euros are just glorified open meetings. I watched this and must admit that it never really held my interest. There were some good races, which I enjoyed urely as racing, but the outcome didn't mean enough for me to care who won. Hopefully the crowd attendance is an indication that people are recognising that the Grand Prix is the proper championship despite the Russians seeming to put more significance in these meetings than FIM meetings. What a shame that Emil, in particular is not in the GP. He could go down in history as a great rider if he rides in the World Championshis, but if he doesn't he wil never amount to anything in the future no matter how often he wins meetings like this.
