Interesting they announced the remaining 2 riders the week after the talk in, what a surprise. Coincidence or to head off at the pass an avalanche of embarrassing why no PK questions? If, as seems a popular opinion on here, it's about money, it would have been interesting to watch CVS try to spin his way out of it because, as is usual, he wouldn't admit the truth. I know which one my money's on and it ain't coincidence. Maybe I'm just a cynical old sod but it's pretty certain Masters & Thorssell were signed prior to the talk in but they were told there's an embargo on the news until after last tuesday. The announcement has been left for a week because to announce it earlier would have been too obvious.

My gob has never been so smacked. As I predicted earlier in the thread the 'gobsmacked' comment wasn't that we'd be happy, it was that we wouldn't believe, especially after last season, that they could screw up again.Masters fine, Thorssell a mistake. What's the team total? C'mon someone, sign PK, please

And that's where it'll get interesting.

Yeah TS, it was 2017 I was getting at. If CVS has signed a new 3 year deal with Laddies has any possible move to Wednesday been factored in? If Chapman gets his way and Wednesday becomes the EL racenight from 2017 & CVS hasn't allowed for this, we must assume he knew this was a possibility prior to signing the new deal, then where does that leave Wolves?
-
Probably putting 2 + 2 together and making 5, wouldn't be the first time , but is it possible that the Cradley thing is to help facilitate a Wolves move to Wednesday in the near future to accommodate the one race night for the EL. Others closer to it than me seem to be indicating that Ladbrokes want to retain Monday speedway and the stadium is not in use on Wednesdays?
-
Gobsmacked as in you daft buggers thought we couldn't get it more wrong than 2015?
-
That's the best dropped R I've ever seen FG Wonderful.
-
Sounds about right however don't be fooled that all is well in PL world. The reserve system in the EL may well have been an abortion but at least they're trying with young Brits unlike the PL who import foreigners at reserve by choice, that's the point he was making. The British U-21 Champion shouldn't get a helping hand? Really?

Cheers for the reports. With PK not being on the HL list he better not surface at another team in 2016 or the Clowns with be dumped on from a great height and totally deserve it. Crowds not declining because the books say different, which book's that? The Ladybird guide to speedway promotion or Speedway promotion for dummies?

I can understand those who would prefer Joel to PK, apart from the age thing & moving on. However history has proven that unless riders new to Britain are absolute superstars eg Ward, then any newbie needs to be in a 'decent' side with his team mates doing enough to keep the team winning while he settles in & realises his potential. IMO up to yet, this Wolves side doesn't seem to be capable of that. PK's forgotten more about British tracks than most will ever know, so there's the conundrum. With regards to the heat leader list, the BSPA have obviously decided that being open with supporters causes to much discussion, most of which is critical, so the way to go is mushroom management, keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em $hit. It will backfire on them, it always does. If CVS is that concerned about his paying customers, here's an idea. When folks walk into the Cleveland Arms tonight and pay their £2 they are given a copy of the list. That's assuming one exists as it may well be the case that non-publication is to allow for more making it up as they go along, in the best interests of Speedway of course.
-
If it's all true I'd happily watch PK rub the 2 idiot's noses right in it. Tomorrow night should be interesting. You really do get the feeling that all this stuff is part of CVS & Adams exit plan. They are taking the pi$$ and don't care who knows it
-
Right CVS. Where's there #1? Over to you.
-
That's been in my mind since CVS said he was only going to do so many years and then handover to someone else (20 or 25, can't remember). He then proceeded to carry on. From my personal point of view I wouldn't trust anything CVS says anymore, which wasn't the case 15 years ago.

The Spoons as a feeder club? I could warm to that
-
Great post BW.
-
And instead of TNT's idea of running a PL team on the non EL Monday (which may or may not have been practical), we end up with a bunch of Spoons
-
Interesting that it's on the Spoon OS but not a dickie on Wolves OS. Anyone would think they're a bit worried about the reaction of Wolves fans to 1 home match a fortnight. Plus this appears to be confirmation that the new deal with Ladbrokes is for Mondays thus excluding Wolves from signing riders who don't want Poland-UK-Sweden on consecutive days.
-
I chuffing hate that phrase, be it admission to speedway or parking in town centres. Folks only want to 'bring prices in line' when there's an increase involved. You never, ever, hear 'We're going to reduce the price to bring it into line with so & so'
-
Gone cool on Joel Andersson then?
-
Something has got to give and in all honesty it'll have to be decided by the folks whose money is involved. They've got to make a decision whether they want: # To lose the fans who can't be doing with a change of racenight. or # To lose the fans that won't attend if the top boys aren't riding and who MAY be enticed back if the racenight is more suitable to their schedule. Stick or twist, it's a toughie.
-
So says the man who, in all probability, won't have to move his racenight. That being said, he's right! Still waiting to see if the new 3 year deal Van Straaten has signed with Ladbrokes takes into account what Chapman's on about. I'm not holding my breathe.
-
While Andersson's doing that, what's Howarth going to be doing?
-
I'd be more worried about whether the shrinking fan base could be ar$ed to spend their hard earned on another season of the tripe they were subjected to in 2015
-
What happened to that Oliver Berntzen (sic) chappy?
-
Seeing as he's apparently said he's not, yes!
