Horton's obviously decided before the season started that Cov aren't going to go out in a blaze of glory. Playing the CVS game from a couple of years ago, get as much money in as possible for minimum outlay. The latter only woke up when the terraces started to empty and he realised he wouldn't have a viable fanbase left for the future. Unfortunately Horton doesn't appear to bothered about any possible future. In the back of your mind you've got to wonder if he'd really be fussed if you didn't get to the end of the season. -
So fans are heartily hissed off with double up/down clashes. The BSPA have finally realised this so are trying to stop a bad situation getting worse. So issue a press release that details the REAL reason.'Craig would miss 3 Peterborough home meetings plus 5 away meetings and that is a situation we couldn't allow to happen. He is welcome to ride in the Premier league but it's the BSPA's responsibility to deal with issues that have angered supporters'. Easy isn't it, full and transparent explanation, no BS, no hiding behind false reasons, job done. Some folks may not agree with them but there you go. What is their problem?
-
All the 'interests' rule is for is when someone spots an opportunity within the other rules but certain members of the BSPA believe it's against their self interest and use it, with the connivance of their peers on the management committee, to put the blocks on, It's either that or the rulebook shot full of holes through imcompetence and 'interests' is needed to put a stop to something that they hadn't thought about before the season started. Or maybe even both.
-
'.........The decision by the sport's bosses to reject the move was made in line with rule 16.3.5 of the 2016 Speedway Regulations, which states that the BSPA management committee monitors all proposed moves and has the sole responsibility to approve all (re-)declared team line-ups having been satisfied that they are in the best interests of the sport.' In that case why bother with team building rules at all. So now anyone can use this rule and say 'that's not in the best interests of the sport' and block moves that are perfectly ok and comply with the other rules. It's absolute lunacy.

Howarth holds the key IMO. Like others I'd be happy with a draw, anything else would be a bonus. -
