  1. How are you Spider. I remember you swinging for me for a couple of meetings but I don't ever recall having a broken leg (speedway or otherwise). You must have me mixed up with someone else. The only broken bones I've had from speedway was a broken shoulder blade in the last meeting of the 90/91 season. Sorry to hear about Phil Kerr. Hope he makes a speedy recovery. Please pass on my regards if you are speaking to him Dave. Regards Phil
  2. 11 year old Arthur Sissis was tonight crowned the 2006/07 South Australian Under 16 Champion. In a hard fought title the points going into the final were as follows - Justin Sedgman 15 Arthur Sissis 13 Robert Branford 13 Robert Medson 12 Josh Munro 10 Jack Fallon 8 Brenton Barnfield 8 Michael Jones 8 Luke Mitchell 7 Cooper Reordan 6 Kale Scott 6 Brayden Munro 4 Tony Pellicone 4 Final placings were - Sissis (SA) Sedgman (VIC) Branford (SA) Medson (SA) In the final, Sedgman led from the tapes with enormous pressure applied from Sissis for 3 laps. At the end of lap 3 Sedgman drifted wide allowing Sissis to grab the inside line and lead the field unhindered to the chequered flag. Fastest times of the night went to Arthur Sissis with winning heat times of 42.56 and 42.72. The next quickest time of 43.1 went to Robert Branford. Congratulations Arthur and well done to all the other competitors. It was a night of good clean racing without any controversy.
  3. Results from last nights Golden Helmet meeting at Gillman Speedway in Adelaide Australia - Solo Pointscore Tom Hedley 12 Filip Sitera 10 Arlo Bugeja 8 Aaron Summers 8 Brendon Mackay 7 Adam Vanderik 6 Ryan Sedgmen 6 Robert Ksiezak 5 Sean Chapman 5 Andrew Aldridge 1 withdrew ef Stoneham 1 Ben Wilson 0 out after crash in heat 2 Matthew Wethers 0 out after crash in heat 2 Solo Final placings Sitera Hedley Ksiezak Summers Sedgmen Vanderik This was a great 6 rider, 6 lap final with Hedley leading Sitera for 4 laps until Sitera's experience wore Hedley down and he passed Hedley on the inside to go on to with the race. Spills of the night were - Heat 2 Matthew Wethers and Ben Wilson came together in turns 1 & 2 which saw Ben Wilson retire from the night unhurt but with bent bike however Matthew Wethers was taken to hospital after being knocked out for about 30 seconds. X-Rays revealed no broken bones but a badly bruised shoulder. He was released from hospital last night. Stoneham went down in heat 10 and collided with the fence. He too was taken to hospital and last account he seemed to have a bad case of concussion. Nothing else known at this stage 2nd semi final saw the race of the night between Arlo Bugeja and Robert Ksiezak with Bugeja pushing Ksiezak very had for the entire race. Unfortunately Bugeja picked up drive coming out of turn 4 whilst leading Ksiezak in a run to the line and collided with the fence. He had a headache at the end of the night and a couple of bruises but otherwise unhurt. Fastest time of the night went to Tom Hedley. 7 sidecars started the night however only 3 were able to contest the final. Sidecar placings for the night were - Treloar/Plaistead Parker/Rudloff Bichard/ The team of Pascoe & Pascoe crashed in heat 6 with the passenger taken to hospital with a broken finger All 3 competitors were apparently lined up side by side in hospital.
