  1. The Eric Linden of the interweb Good stuff, did you enjoy the meeting, mate? Couldn't make it maself - the reason why I refuse to comment - was at a 50th, still all was not lost, one has just timmed his stanes and she wisnae 50!! YHYH ....and here is me, fowk anonimity, fed up with speedway after 40 year. but haven't chucked it completely! So as you are obviously at most Scottish derbies, our paths are sure to cross.......tell you all aboot her, she's a bit of a boot, but like I say YHYH.....forget the speedway, be cool and pelt!!
  2. Thought Glasgow had first dibs on Lawson, after buying him outright? and it was only Sarjeant and Morris who they would lose through doubling up?
  3. The punters who are taking it to heart and having a pop are as bad as he is, George. It's exactly the kind of over-top-reaction he is after. A phrase you will read a few times before the big race next weekend..."no class - best ignored" Springs to mind
  4. Although Sheffield may have problems with their Aussies, that was my first thought, brewer.
  5. Just reading on the BSPA website that Jason Garrity has handed in a transfer request at Rye House and his name has been circulated to other clubs by Len Silver.....interesting
  6. Harsh, but fair, Gaz. A few more that spring to mind are.... 1. Dalle Andersson 2. Mick Newton 3. Terry Kelly 4. Kevin Armitage 5. Des Wilson 6. Tim Korneliussen 7. Mark Crang
  7. One of those incidents that could have gone either way......I would have been interested in Tatum's interpretation of it had it been Woffinden buried in the air fence though.
  8. As a wee aside to that, I remember Alun Rossiter recounting the time when he travelled up for the 1984 Open with Weymouth team-mate Martin Yeates. Roscoe won a place on the podium and Yeates finished down the field, although he went back home with much more money than Rossiter because he had already agreed on guaranteed appearance money. The young Rossiter said he learned a valuable lesson that night ...........the Scottish Open was one of the highlights of the season for me when I was a youngster, it's obviously lost it's shine over the years, but every other domestic individual meeting has too, just a sign of the times
  9. ......think he comes straight in at number one....or AM A WRANG!! .......cannae beat the classics!!
  10. Ooo, you are awful, but I like ya! ..go on then I'll take a nibble. In my opinion this Edinburgh side aren't even the equal of that 1991 Tigers team, never mind the Hammers, in fact they they aren't the equal of more than a few Moanarchs teams of the past. They are a great team in the current PL climate, but as we all know the second tier has progressively got weaker and you can only beat what's in front of you. Obviously the days of three genuine heat leaders, a couple of second string-come-heat leaders and solid reserves are long gone. You will always get the age old argument of how hard it is to compare teams from different eras, so lets just say this current Edinburgh line-up is a great team of it's day.
  11. We all know Pedersen is a wee rat who likes to dish it out but isn't too keen on taking it back. But like GB says speedway needs a controversial villain for the punters to boo and talk about on here and it will be that wee bit duller when he eventually chucks it. Tell you what though, he wouldn't have lasted two minutes back in the days of real hard men like Millen, Browning, Leadbitter, Grant, Gresham...et al. I would love to have seen him try something like that at Glasgow when auld Jimmy Beaton was in his pomp....just ask Nigel Flatman ...................Jeezo could you imagine what this forum would have been like if it was around in the 70s
  12. You talk some pish, George!! ................................a summer dress at Armadale!!!
  13. Been the same since time and memoriam, it's law of sod, Heather ....I lost count of the number of times when I was a kid back in the 70s/early 80s when the speedway was rained off on a Friday night and I would just go out and play with my pals and the sun would be splitting the trees.......I used to think my Dad was kidding me on that it was off, just so he could go to the pub!!! ....and speaking of which, am off!!
