The advantage of the top tier is once you have gone through your checkpoint, you can then go wherever you want. For example, enter on back straight then walk all around the top until you get to start/finish line, entrance to 1st bend, anywhere you fancy, just don't sit in someone elses seat. No problem thousands to choose from.
