KEV H - Do you by any chance, know anyone who has a programme from the 1981 British Junior Championship at Canterbury? I am friend of Rob Lightfoot who won this meeting, and he has never seen the programme for it, any help would be very welcome.

Steve , would you possibly have the programme for the 1981 British Junior Championships at Canterbury? Rob Lightfoot is looking for the programme as he was the winner of this meeting and has never seen the programme in question, many thanks for any help.

Well they did have Kelly Moran , Dennis Sigalos and John Cook so they didn't do too bad.
-
Think if you read through the KC 1982 thread, there is something about a book/video this June.

Biggest link must be Andy Lee, father of World Champ Michael Lee, don't know how good Michael could have been if he never raced speedway. They ran their own circuit somewhere in Cambridge area i think. Went to the Moto Cross Des Nations at Foxhills in Swindon a few years back, this is the Moto x version of speedways WTC but better. It rained solid for 3 days and it was knee deep in mud. Got so bad they had to cut out the big hill in the last race for safety reasons. Still one of the best days out i ever had at a motorsport event, brilliant stuff. Watched Dave Thorpe 3x WORLD Champ and Kurt Nicholl at Hawkstone Park and Farleigh Castle against all the top Belgiums great tracks and great racing.

Bit early to write off Jonsson as a future champ. However don't think he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Gollob, he is, or has been a different class to Jonsson.
-
Sad news indeed, one of the better of the 70-80,s eastern europeans. Seems like we are only just celebrating the sparing of ALES, when this news comes through.

Scott Nicholls
From PC to KC. replied to Hans Andersen No1 Fan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
EXACTLY, leave the bar to losers like Janniro. -
Scotty took what luck he was given for a change and converted it into rostrum position at last. You have to to use the rub of the green when you are given it to your best advantage. Crump awesome again played with Andersen in the heats to produce when it really matters. Some riders need to learn how to stay on their bikes rather than lay it down too easily in the hope of an exclusion.
-
Any updates on whether Crumpy is riding or not?

Is this the same double vision that Shovlar suffers from when quoting crowd figures for Poole meetings, double vision comes in handy when explaining how you thought that other woman was the wife. -
Scott Nicholls Says We Can Win This
From PC to KC. replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not much between Mark or Chris these days but on their day Loram has that something extra. Screeny has higher ave than both, but you wouldn't want Joe in either, too close to call. Unless we win, it will be wrong selection, oh the power of hindsight. -

Swings and roundabouts, between home track knowledge and the consistantly better rider, if they go with Travis he will have to have his best meeting ever at that level, no easy reserves to pick off in this meeting. -

Only the brits could pick a foreigner friendly track to have the race off and final on. We may have stood a chance at Sheffield but not at Slickmead stadium. We need a Racers track, no pun intended. Lets hope aussies pick Travis as its one thing winning races in EL, another in SWC. Still heres hoping for a GB win. -
Middlo Is Another Sven

Do you mean 9 pts in the conference league, because don't delude yourself that any of those players are World class, they only ever achieve at local level, ie premiership, occasionally at Euro level, but NEVER WORLD. Lets face it at the moment we can't hack it internationally. The decline in the Grass track scene due to BSC "mad cow" stunted the best talent we had coming through, no one to follow in the steps of, JEM DONCASTER, SIMON CROSS, KELVIN TATUM, SIMON WIGG, MARVYN COX, ANDY SMITH, JOE SCREEN, PC , CHRIS MORTON, MARK LORAM , HAVVY, ETC ETC. Sadly we have no one to compare with born to be stars, MICHAEL LEE AND KENNY CARTER. -

Bit like asking Kenny Dalglish to stand in for Wayne Rooney, no thanks. If we are not good enough tough, we just have to get on with it, lets at least keep it ENGLISH or BRITISH. -

True once in they never check again. Had ticket for 3rd bend but walked round to just above pits and sat near Lewis Bridger. -
