  1. Thats always been Coventrys patter, but i totally disagree with that!. Look how successful the world cup at Poole was three years ago!. You will never find a better location with better racing!!.
  2. Do you know, we have the self same problem in Poole. Antonio's sponsors and manager in this country at the Inn on the chase used to screen it all. But sky in their wisdom decided to price the small pub out of the market, by asking £600, yes, £600 per month for sky!. We used to get quite a gathering up ther for the GP's and World Cups, and the food was fantastic. But Skys money grabbing policy put an end to all that , which is a great shame. We now have knowhere in the Poole area that screen the GP's or the World Cup!!.
  3. I personally feel that we have a good chance. If we can get the result on Monday that takes us straight to the final. But, if i did have reservations it would probably be our strength in depth when we get to the final!!. But, im sure that Neil would be picking the team on a Horses for courses basis. I feel Poland again have an outstanding chance, but just feel, that this year its slightly more open than on previous years!!.
  4. Bring it to Poole, Gurranteed good racing good weather good location good attendance!!.
  5. Im sure Bjarne didn't do it purposely, just one of those things. Ive seen a lot more blatent moves by other riders in the past!!.
  6. Scott has the abillity, but as others have said, there is something missing from his game. Now whether its bottle or lack of speed or some other mechanical function only Scott knows. From a rider perspective Scott has good balance on a bike, but there's something stopping him from jumping that ditch, from being a good EL heatleader to being a top GP rider??.
  7. If anybody deserves to be world champion its Leigh Adams. If only for his loyalty to Britiish Speedway and his consistantcy!.
  8. Then if you say someone can do a better job name them?. SCB why don't you get your clipboard out and stop watch and see if you can do a better job. Neil is only human, and know doubt others would also make miatakes, you have to make split second decisions and in the heat of the moment that is not easy, its ok us standing on the terraces screaming put so an so in but i defiy you to tell me that nobody else wouldn't make any mistakes!!. its not an easy job for any team manager, never mind being manager of the National side!!.
  9. I haven't got my head up his wotnot as you put it, im mearly making a point, Neil can only do with what riders he has at his disposal, just the same as you can't turn selling plate racehorses in to Derby winners!. We have a base of riders who are still capable of holding there own on the world stage, and eventually there will be a crossover, where the old guard will start to drop out, and the kids hopefully, will start to show enough to take their places, as Bomber Harris showed in last years world cup. As for Mark Loram taking over the team manager mantle, that is still all up in the air, as nobody knows if Mark will continue to ride or retire, and im sure that Mark doesn't know himself yet!. But maybe Neil could do with a righthand man, if i had to recomend somebody other than Mark, then Havvy would have to be high on the list!!. And yes, i can spell Because, that was a technical error!.
  10. Do yourself a favour, go and play with the traffic on the M4, or take a long jump of a short pier!. Neil does a very good job with the riders that he has at his disposal. And just in case you haven't noticed because you can't see the light of day, the future of British speedway is getting brighter and better with some of the young lads coming through!.
  11. I agree with Shazzybabe-er Bird here. My choice would have been Mark Loram. imo he rode very well last season, and deserved a swansong at least!!.
  12. You are spot on Gem, nobody HAS to spend a fortune for the weekend. ok, its up to the individual, but im sure im right in saying, a lot of people are now thinking twice about booking for the whole weekend. I buy my ticket from Poole when our promotion get our allacation of tickets. I get the same seat every year on the third fourth bend and i get a fantastic view of the stadium and the Racing. I get on a coach from Poole in the morning and the whole shooting match will probably cost me £100. This year i will be packing my own sandwiches, as the grub at the millenium stadium is dire, and extortionant outside the stadium. Call me cheapskate but im not prepared to buy shoddie food at extortionant prices!!. At least this year its not on Derby Day!
  13. Anything Leanne : : Come on Babe, your far better than anything
  14. Personally i feel its down to expence. Hotel cost rising every year, ticket prices, rising every year, travelling costs, rising every year.put food and drinks for the weekend on top. small wonder the attendances will drop!. The product has to be there, otherwise people will vote with there feet, sooner or later. Its the same in any sport!.
  15. Sue, get on one of the Poole coaches, and just make it a day trip like i do and Suzie Q did last year, much cheaper!.
  16. I get the same seat every year, and i get a fantastic view, like Rabbit says, u;'ll be totally immersed in the atmosphere!. My only gripe was last year. Im a/was a friend of Antons, and a staunch supporter of the lad, but becouse of that, several Budgie fans who were sat behind me took great exception to it, and one decided to deliberately blast his air horn towards me, i was not best pleased believe me
  17. Funny that Shazz, i kept banging on to her that she's got to go!!.
  18. Sounds like his recovery is going very well Rabbit, these leg stretches knee bends are vigarous exercises, tell me more!!.
  19. Yep, Mark also gets my vote for a GP wild card place, also a return to the Pirates next season would be very nice!. Come on Mark, you know it make sence!!.
  20. Well if the BSPA want to get shot of Neil then thats fine, but you then watch the fortunes of team GB go down hill faster than the roller coster at Blackpool pleasure beach. As for him packing up at Poole, imo thats not an issue. Neil does a very good job at Poole. As the saying goes. you can't turn moderate racehorses into group 1 superstars, same applys in Speedway. As far as Team GB is concerned, as i've said before. Neil can only work with what he has at his disposal. He gave this years World cup his best shot. Unfortunately as everyone saw, our gating let us down big time, and that very doggy Gate one didn't help either. if we had gated a bit better, and had a bit more luck in running, we would have definately been in the shake up. I also agree, Lee Richardson was the key to our success, and i don't think he rode badly at all. As for some of the kids in the background like Eddie Kennett etc, there time will come, but they are not ready yet!. I get sick and tired of people on here pulling him to pieces. Those who think that they can do better, get yourselves in the pits and have a go. Becouse i will tell you now, you will crumble after heat 1!!.
  21. Jeezs VV you change your mind like the weather. In your earlier post you say that Neil couldn't pick Apples, now your saying what a great bloke he is!. Neil can only do with what riders that he has at his disposal, we do not have a list of riders as long as your arm that are proven on the big stage. I'll tell you now, Mr Swales will do no better, as i said, you can only use what you have to work with. In your original post, you state that we won't win the world cup, ok, who will? If we do make the final, i gurrantee it won't be for the want of trying im sure. Only my opinion of course, but perhaps Chris Louis for Bomber Harris, no disrespect to Chris! But what are you going to say if we do win the world cup VV!!.
  22. And Brendon Johnson was fourth. Brendon had Engine failier just after the start of the final, But Lof 72 tells me he rode very well all evening to reach the final.
  23. Love to see Somerset hold a round, the lads will love that track!.Also its nice to see the Somerset Rebels fourth from top in the Premier league. Makes a real refreshing change from fourth from bottom. Long may it continue!.
  24. Im still can't believe that Poole have not been asked to host it again, after how it went two years ago. For me, its the perfect track, perfect venue, great racing, but wrong outcome, but im sure that would have been put right this year Mike.
