  1. Right as it was me that started this, perhaps it is quite literally like this: heat 22 - Gollob is a Tactical substitute for Jagus. heat 24 - Gollob in his own heat is tactical joker. Is this correct.? Whilst I can see this is actually a 'grey' area, I can see how they got away with it I think.!! If taken literally this rule should have stopped this happening, as although one heat was his own, he actually was nominated for 2 tacticals.
  2. You are too kind Mr S. However if you go to page 21, where the Tacticals are to be found, I would be grateful of some help. The last paragraph states and I quote: "No rider will be permitted more than one nomination, either as a Tactical substitute or as a Tactical joker" Am I taking this too literally or should Tomasz have done either/or and not both.As I said your help would be appreciated. Thanks Badge.
  3. Sorry I wasn't trying to be controversial at all, merely asking why this is allowed that the same rider in effect has 2 tactical rides?
  4. I must admit, my first reaction was that Crumpie caused that particular crash, but my other half felt the Finn rode into the back of him. I too felt that the ref allowed quite a lot of 'rolling' at the starts. How was Gollob allowed to take Jagus' place and his own as a joker in the last 5 races. I did enjoy the meeting very much though, much much closer than anyone predicted I think. Poor Mark looked really nervous, but I do think Thursday will be much more difficult to qualify, I think Kolodziej will be in for the Poles in stead of Jagus.
  5. Unfortunately Chris didn't get the call up and has not been measured for a race suit, he is working for Sky instead.
  6. Team GB's race suits are being made and one person who hasn't been measured is Chris Louis so looks like he is not in the team. Obviously in form riders don't feature in Middlo's plans then
  7. He obviously filled the gap (very successfully as it turned out) last year, and now better Polish nationals are available it's thanks but no thanks.Does he want a GB passport?
  8. Am I putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but could this dip in Gollob's form have anything to do with his brother being dropped from their Polish team, as Gollob isn't riding very well there either.
  9. Great to see Kim Jansson had a good debut for Smederna last night scoring 7 + 1.
  10. That is somewhat misleading, as in the EL and the Polish league, Pepe is really flying, so think he would be a good bet. Think this is the year for the Danes.
  11. Probably the Championship team winners there.
  12. Nobody is mentioning Danny King He's 19 years old and will finish his doubling up learning curve this year, OK he hasn't blasted onto the scene like Lewis has but surely he will be in the reckoning.
  13. Chris Louis has just been on the local radio and confirmed that he has been picked for the squad along with Mark Loram. This is great news as Chris absolutely flew round Reading last meeting we had there.
  14. Just to let you know that Mark will be in the squad for SWC, but no mention of Chris Louis
  15. I do think it's about time that this competition was run on a neutral track, it's pathetic the home advantage given to Swindon ( oh I know that they didn't win this year, but it was a forgone conclusion that they would be in the final).
  16. It has been reported on our Ippo website, that Mark Loram is not riding today, but Kim Jansson will partner Pepe. Am really, really pleased for Kim, however, me thinks bureauracracy (sp!) rears its ugly head.
  17. Then if Scott qualifies by right, that's fine by me, and if I mislead you over Zagar I apologise, what I mean't but phrased it wrong was that he and Iversen will only get better due to this being their first season, I was only commenting on Pepe being off the pace.
  18. TBH apart from the final, that GP was nearly as boring as the Eurovision Song contest. Jason, Greg, Nicki and Tomas are so superior to the other riders, it's almost a foregone conclusion. The sooner they bring in the qualifying rounds and stop the wild card entries the better.(mind you isn't the Championship of GB a qualifyer?, so Scott or Lee can get in again through that route ) Freddie showed he can mix it with the big boys, I think because he is keen, don't know about Pepe he seems so off the pace, Zagaar, Iversen are new to it all and surely will get better, Jarek in fits and starts is on the pace, still feel he would do better if he rode in the EL to be able to keep up with the other 4.
  19. I agree with Mr Shovlar as well, this 'new wembley' is staging concerts this year (subject to it being finished ) and I have a ticket to see Bon Jovi, and let me tell you it ain't cheap! far more than we have to pay for a ticket to see the GP in Cardiff AND no roof so guaranteed racing. No -Cardiff has established itself as the best and biggest attended GP and it needs to keep it IMO. Also coming from Ipswich we have great fun, we leave on Friday stay in Weston super Mare and have a real good weekend's fun, wouldn't get that in London - no parking, fighting on the tubes, and no guarantee there will be trains running when it has finished.
  20. What do you know, you were just there I mean come on the other guys were watching it on TV so they obviously knew more about it than you I cannot believe some of you on here, how many of you ride speedway bikes? What qualifications have you got to determine whether the track was safe or not, I think someone was quite right when they said that the superior experience of Leigh and Todd, means that they are able to ride most tracks, whatever the conditions, but at the end of the day, they are the one's putting their lives on the line, remember Ashley, remember Toni? Rightly or wrongly, it is the riders decision collectively or as a majority, whether they ride or not, and yes we as supporters get very frustrated when a meeting is cancelled for whatever reason, but at least everyone lives to fight another day. It's sport and entertainment for god's sake.
