  1. Lol, most of "in the know" say absolutely nothing!!!
  2. Well without proof, anyone could say anything they like now couldn't they?? All you are achieving is fanning the flames of the discontents by saying that various offers have been rejected. Orion I suspect at the time that Scott was sold, that was the intention to keep the money to invest in another rider, but things obviously changed and it had to be used in the day to day runnings instead, and what is wrong with that?? Starman, why were we over stretched in 1998? We had 3 promoters in those days. I find it upsetting to think that twice CL has gone to press(when they are notorious for not saying a lot), saying there will be an important announcement, and twice he has had to cancel the "good news". We have to wonder why the late withdrawal of agreement, I just hope that the prospective purchaser/s didn't come on line and then change their minds
  3. Lol and there it is again....the Scott Nicholls money i) what has it got to do with us where it went??? ii) we don't see KL fans asking Buster where the Darcy Ward money went do we??? even though he's had to put Doolan on the transfer list for being too expensive iii) did you not see the list of riders payments on another thread by wizzer??? how far do you think £36,000 would go when your riders are getting between £175 - £85 per point???? and 6/7 are guaranteed £250-£300 per meeting Your proof??? regarding take overs??, mind you perhaps the Louis'weren't ready to sell, or perhaps the people weren't right for the club As for sponsors....I've no idea
  4. Well said Dogstar. Shame some of the keyboard commando's don't put their money where their mouth is. If it was so easy, I'm sure we would have had a new co-promoter as we speak.
  5. Mike Bacon's twitter earlier today: Witches fans. Have just spoken to Chris Louis. The latest news from Foxhall in the Star tomorrow . . . . is it EL or PL?
  6. Obviously most fans apart from Poole ones that is, understand lol!!! Well obviously, that goes without saying!!! lol Sarcasm Jules!!!! you know
  7. , you mean Scott is not the cheapest No 1 rider in the EL....now come on CS you KNOW that the Louis' only have the cheapest!!!!!
  8. Well obviously that goes without saying, Scott and us fans too, but I was responding to your higher and lower statement!!
  9. Well my reasoning is that if its higher, then another team could possibly be able to fit him in along side their No 1 whereas if it's lower then all teams can only fit 1 No 1 rider in
  10. I would have thought lower, we get to keep him or higher we lose him
  11. Thank you, much appreciated hyderd.
  12. Lol so does that mean if he signs for Peterboro, it would be his 2nd choice
  13. TBF Prawn, most fans were expecting an announcement after the promoter's piss up in Bournemouth, that is the time line set by Chris Louis, quite unexpectedly we had an announcement saying that 12 o/c on Friday the Club would be announcing their plans. At the last minute that had to be withdrawn, presumably something changed at the last hour/minute which in turn has now set all us Foxhall fans quivering. How what where and whom. At best we just have to wait and hope that we have a club still in 2011 in whichever league.
  14. Oh no, now there's a thought , the Witches without the Louis'....not right at all. Mind you I suppose better that than fold if they want to drop down but can't Have to wait until next week I suppose.
  15. Well in the 45 point thread, apparently Peter Adams has said that the average losses for clubs in EL 2010 was £70,000 . That is a huge amount of money in anyone's book, millionaire or not, so if we do go down to PL perhaps this has some bearing.
  16. Just as a matter of interest.....did Poole ride under protest????
  17. Honestly Steve....ok my take on all of this. As a neutral I personally didn't want either team to be league champs, so went into the semi and play off meetings watching purely because they would be the last competitive meetings of the season. In between the play off meetings we had a re-arranged meeting v Poole which quite rightly the Pirates won massively against us, but the whole meeting was marred by your Captain who quite frankly showed himself up by not wishing to complete the meeting after heat 12 and when forced to ride in heat 13 trundled round at the back, so strike one for the Bees. Now the finals were upon us and Poole v Coventry...still not bothered who won, but thinking what a giggle if the Bees over turned the Pirates, still thinking nope not going to happen, Poole are just too strong from top to bottom. So the dodgy track and heat 1, the boy wonder gets it wrong and is excluded, and for 5 heats the Bees have it. As the meeting progresses though the Pirates come back into it, and although they lose the meeting, not by as much as I felt Coventry needed because Poole have been supreme at Wimbourne Road and have beaten most teams by at least 20 points all season long. A decent track and all the ride for, Coventry's main man excluded in his first heat and looking good for Poole, so everyone thought but they didn't bank on Bomber being Superman and for me that is when I cast my allegience to Coventry because of the fighting spirit of Bomber. Now in effect Coventry relied on 2 riders and their reserve against the strongest 1-7 AT HOME this season, and beat them. Why can you not accept that the bottom line is that your super team was found wanting at the end, whether Shamek rode at no 2,3,4 or 7 you would have been beaten. I have no feelings one way or the other regarding how many meetings he rode for Coventry TBH, it just comes over that Poole were beaten because in the fianl analysis they were not good enough home or away at the end, and all of this posturing by Matt Ford and yourself is rather pathetic, when it was YOUR riders that let all of you fans down. So no I would not have said that Poole were cheating, had it been reversed, I don't think, but my feelings have been made clear in the earlier posts regarding your promoter. That's below the belt and quite frankly uncalled for IMO. John Louis is speedway through and through and doesn't deserve that at all.
  18. But the point I am making Steve, is that as a promoter and member of the MC, this is not the sort of thing that he should be writing down for the public domain....surely it is libellous , as there is no way that he can prove any of what he has insinuated in that piece. Whilst I appreciate that yours and Poole's adage is any publicity is good publicity, I don't think you or the Poole promotion realise just how much damage they achieved last season, and what you and one or two other Poole fans feel is "jealousy" is in fact that many fans are fed up with promotions abusing the sport. I know that it sickened me last season and possibly still has a residual effect this yearI( and our position in the league has no bearing on this either), quite frankly there is no way that I would trust Matt Ford to agree to anything that would not benefit his club first and speedway second.....and that is a result of last year. So I stand by my firstposting that I feel Matt Ford has brought speedway into disrepute and should resign from the MC forthwith.
  19. My opinion, for what it is worth, is that on writing this, to me, Matt Ford is bringing Speedway into disrepute quite frankly. Had he been whiter than white himself maybe that is one thing, but after last season's shennanigans surely he should know better, ie beaten by a better master . At the very least he should resign from the MC for his written remarks. Mind you, did he realise that one of his most vociferous fans would post it on here....probably. All we neutrals know that the bottom line is......Poole could not sustain their winning ways until the very end. Although Davey Watt is not a favourite of mine, he and Middlo were excellent in defeat and should be commended. It all comes across as very very sour grapes.
  20. And I have heard that Kevin Long is donning the "White Jacket" again for this meeting
  21. Elvin wrote the article, is all I was trying to point out. Don't think Magda has any "friends" actually
  22. Well, not only is she Tomasz' friend, but also Elvin's and his wife
  23. Yep he did CS. here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00b5dhw/Stephen_Foster_28_09_2010/ go to 1.37.34
