  1. Possibly when Scott waded in with lawyers and a QC or two they stepped in Pity now this has been overturned, people can't all do the same for the young guys starting out in the sport who can't get a place due to overseas riders, needing visas to ply their trade here, like Nathan greaves, Joe Jacobs and Ellis perks. They too might be multi British champs, good servants to the sport, if only they were given the chance. Edited to add, sorry should probably put the second bit of this post on the other thread
  2. Taken from new Witches website, our wonderful sponsor Guy Nicholls https://ipswichwitches.co/tru-plant-to-sponsor-witches-in-2018/
  3. My first reaction was bright and busy, however it's easier to navigate than last year's.
  4. Sorry can't post a link but now Ipswich Truplant Witches, and new logo And new website http//ipswichwitches.co
  5. Surely this is the reason why, whether rule was right or wrong, it should never be overturned
  6. Not sure about that tbh, didn't think to ask
  7. Well that's sign on night done, next date 14th March to meet the riders (Or let's introduce the German)
  8. Track staff Signing on night Friday 16th feb 7pm ipswich sports club Henley road
  9. Taken from Witches website: https://ipswichwitches.co/story/bagley-passes-away and a longer piece from EADT: http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ron-bagley-ipswich-speedway-dies-1-5388053
  10. Forgive me for stating the bleedin obvious, if he has to take a "handout" to keep second tier speedway running, how the heck do you expect him to afford top tier
  11. New kid on the block Tbd https://ipswichwitches.co/story/haertel-everybody-told-me-ipswich-is-a-good-club
  12. Surely he would be deemed as having made himself unemployed, as he already has a job (well 2 actually)
  13. Probably because they are way over £55,000 annual wage threshold
  14. All this hoohaa about Scott, whereas Edward seems to be keeping a very low profile!!
  15. Do we actually know what reason the BSPA gave Edinburgh?? Is it our place to know all the details, or should the update on site just be enough? Visa applications for ALL non EU persons is a minefield and full of legalise, not just speedway riders good or bad.
  16. Exactly, and he's claiming being stopped earning a living, so riding for rye house and bt tv is not earning a living So he'd signed up before Christmas expecting the rule to be changed?? He and Edward are unfortunate but the line has to be drawn somewhere and it's included them. Bit like me with my old age pension, being born a month later means I have to miss out for 7 years, I feel hard done by but the line had to be somewhere first.
  17. So the fans say they want transparency, they want rules kept to, they want riders to stop taking the p. So buster sorted out Chris holder and got slated, they sorted out holder/rathbone and got slated, they uphold the over 6 rule and get slated, they uphold the visa rules and get slated. What do some of you want? You have to start somewhere, and painful as it is for some clubs, I am all for this making rules and sticking to them. Let's move forward with this
  18. Surely that's the visa process, working out correctly isn't it?? i) he doesn't qualify ii) there are several British riders who could fill his position so unlikely to be issued for that reason.
