  1. iris, looks like Costa Messa!! Sure no one would pick the outside gate for the final!! Seriously tho about Argentina they plan to have a GP in 10 years time but need to do a lot of work to get the stadium ready for such an event.
  2. I would say Baseev is a better bet as he is a saransk rider. If it wasnt for a bad day in the wm qualifier he would be in the gp but with the MFR having a spoilt choice I think the russians would still score 60 points. It was only a mistake by Bogdanov that dropped russia's only point in Berlin last year I think
  3. Saransk is 3 hours in front of us but I think Ufa could be further in front
  4. They always Check the blood pressure of the riders in practice for the ice racing in russia even before the practice, and if it is too high then they dont allow you to race. One of the swiss riders had the same problem in the EM last year before practice but they told him not to drink coffee or tea and too just relax then when the meeting come round he was ok so we will look to see if they let him ride tomorrow or not. Strangely enough I only saw this happen in Russia where they check the blood pressure Ive never seen this in sweden holland germany or any other country.
  5. Mark uzzell will not be competing in the european championships he had a lot of problems with the police in russia and so returned home to sweden. He also suffered from a blown up engine in saransk.
  6. Ive had a few offers from a few riders including 2 gp riders but ive had to turn them down due to other commitments that keep me occuppied(sp) until the end of february, but im back in time for Assen and maybe ill be in Berlin. By the way I believe most of the British riders minus Graham Halsall are training in Funesdalen in Sweden this weekend. Graham i think is still in New Zealand.
  7. I will be at Assen from friday to sunday. They will run a rudolf thiese trophy on the friday night apparently with 24 invited riders in the old gp knockout system. I just hope one or 2 english riders will be there, then I wont have to pay!!!!
  8. Chris Harris. even though im a big Loram fan i think he is too old and Bomber finished higher than Simon Stead in the gp qualifier. but to be honest i believe england will only have Scott Nicholls in the gp next year!
  9. and he was the first to congratulate nicki after he passed hans from behind in the danish finalon friday night.
  10. the problem is getting to the ukraine and paying for visas which cost around 90 euro per person so thats 1 rider and 2 mechanics 270 euros before you leave home. Ive been to Russia with ice racing and we once travelled through the ukraine and its not very safe like just russia. Put to that diesel, tires, wear and tear on the bikes and van. Hotels because its too dangerous to sleep in the van, food its not so exciting when you think about it this way. You can be sitting at the border for anything up to around 24 hours. Most federations dont help so much either riders have to pay there own licence around 100 euros just for one meeting. So you do all this to be paid around 500 euros its not worth travelling. And has for having an under 19 european quater final in russia i believe it is crazy but its only fair on the russian riders but you will never keep every one happy.
  11. they should have the championship of GB at reading then use the top 5 riders from that. simple.
  12. think if Andreas Messing was not injured at the start of the season he would have qualified
  13. im one hour west from the stadium and its raining a lot here and looks like to stay
  14. it does not say anything about ermolenko on there
  15. sorry. i dont no him personally just seen him ride in the rm 80cc swedish final last year and was very impressed. Think he is named in Rospiggarna and Gavle this year?
  16. If you are under 15 and riding in Sweden then you would be racing 80cc bikes. Unless your name is jonus messing you are not the best under 15 rider in sweden. I live in Sweden and im very much involved with 3 clubs here so i no who is the best under 15 rider
  17. there is also a junior meeting on the friday night in Berlin. one rider is Lukus Rosti from switzerland
  18. Conkers any idea how the meeting runs does everybody ride or just the top 2 in each team with the 3rd rider as reserve? see you in Assen malcolm.
  19. It works in both Sweden and Poland although they dont charge any money but they could even run prctices before the meetings and things and where permited at the weekends. Clubs can buy cheap bikes from riders at the end of the season without the engine or carbs and then rent them out. If enough people bring up the subject with clubs, promotors or the bspa then maybe something could be done. How about applying for a grant from sport england or from the lottery commision to get the scheme started then maybe if enough money is raised supply one bike to each team in all 3 leagues. What does the scb do with all the money it makes from permits every year, and its not as if its a tenner a season is it???? Gm do not make a 250 or 350 and will not make one.
  20. Quote LAZYRIDER proberly not let you use it in 250cc class as u would have a 350 head on it It doesnt matter matter about the size of the head its the overall size of the engine. size of the cylinder and length of conrod etc etc. My engines are legal and are used in poland and southern europe thats why i have 2 engines ready and can change from 500 to 350 and 250. The parts i use are made in slovenia and can be used in jawa or gm. Are they going to allow 2 strokes to be used in the series then or do they have to be 4 stroke jawa engines or converted gm engines? I personally think the clubs should each buy 3 or 4 bikes and let the under 15 riders use them for say 15GBP per rider per meeting then they get there money back and they are kept standard and it encourages more riders to try and parents dont get understandedly upset when some one decides 1 or 2 months before the season to change the rules when people are all setting up equipment ready to race.
  21. just a note i have heard that samarodov is racing at assen in the golden spike series. In penza he was very fast but had a big problem with 2 crashes and 2 stops because of losing his rear chain but other than that he was unbeaten every time he finished. The other wild card could go to polikarpov as he is supposed to be racing at motala and skovde. Motala is 2 days before assen starts. Does anybody know the start list for Skovde or Motala i know Heinz Goldi is riding as i am his mechanic and Mark Uzzell is a reserve. I would also guess Posa and Steffan Svensson are also riding but i heard there are 12 riders who want to race there but cant because both meetings are full. Conkers - i will try to introduce myself but im sure you will find me first some where between Heinz Goldi and Graham. Hiw many people are going to Assen this year please get behind Graham Halsall and Heinz Goldi. It is possible for Graham to finish in the top 5 of this series.
  22. if any of the european riders finish in the top 3 especially zorn or posa then they will have the best chances of being world champion because the russians arent as good at assen just a note i have heard that samarodov is racing at assen in the golden spike series. In penza he was very fast but had a big problem with 2 crashes and 2 stops because of losing his rear chain but other than that he was unbeaten every time he finished.
  23. Apparently the parts needed to convert a 500 to 250 are too expensive to make it worthwhile. However a 350 can be converted reasonably easily and there should be a few cheap 350 engines about from the grass track. It means relocating the crankpin - which has also to be stepped and re-sleeving the barrel. Not a 5 minute do it yourself job but I would have thought a whole lot cheaper than a new 250. Quote Vince As a tuner I can convert a 500cc speedway engine into a 250cc engine in the same way i convert 500s to 350s for the grass track. Ive got 2 250 gms for sale for ยข2500 + tax now and can convert existing gm and jawa motors for 600GBP but at the end of the season if you send me your motor back i can convert back to 500cc. But if its geared right it can be almost as quick as a 500 anyway. If you watch grass track you will see the 350s in the open class matching the 500s. contact me on +41774117882 Malc
