  1. I'd like Tomasz Gollob to lift the trophy. He's come so near several times and it would be a fitting reward for all he has given to the sport, both domestically and on the international front. Sadly, I fear he is now past his best at that level. On the basis of his 2009 performance I feel that Emil Sayfutdinov could surprise many people - so much so that I've just added his name to my dictionary!
  2. I agree, Rob, but I fear we are flogging the proverbial dead horse. When and idea becomes entrenched even a squadron of JCBs cannot demolish it! Regards, Ron
  3. Has he been tried in a court of law yet? Has he appeared before judge and jury? Perhaps this is yet another case of guilty before being proven innocent. Anyone remember Lewis Bridger? I seem to recollect him appearing before certain members of this forum under similar circumstances.
  4. Definitely a very good looking lady, Parsloes. Sad though that they had a guy belting out a song whilst Rachelle was speaking. I would like to have heard whether her vocal talent was in line with her physical qualities!
  5. In what way is it disappointing, Rigsby? A detailed explantation would be appreciated.
  6. My congratulations to the Kings Lynn promoters and their staff. I hope you have a highly successful meeting.
  7. Indeed it is, Ian. Perhaps that's why our own legislators did not add it to the No Smoking bill. Strange that they preferred the here, there or anywhere else in the building approach. Though I speak as a non-smoker I do feel the total ban anywhere at any time is excessive. The Croation approach being better by far.
  8. Stop fighting and arguing, children! You're distressing Grandfather Ron
  9. Ah well, Ian, I suppose that with our two halves we could, possibly, make one reasonably good man. Anyone out there want two willing, if slightly jaded, halves?
  10. OK? I vaguely remember Alf. Sadly I remember most thing vaguely now.
  11. I've never been to an ice speedway meeting. I shall never go to an ice speedway meeting. Ice speedway is as dangerous for the spectators as it is for the riders. Ice speedway, as a spectator sport, is best left to brass monkeys
  12. It happened as a natural consequence, Andy, of the World Individual Championship becoming nothing more than the final curtain to the season's Grand Prix series. I fear it will never regain its former meaning or glory while the present format continues
  13. I read in the D***y M**l that she had been ploughed up and a housing estate built on her Bob!
  14. I'm glad to hear that, Ian. However, I advise you to undertake a in-depth demographic and geographic study of the construction of this website. This I urge you to do for the extension and preservation of life - yours. When Sandie's ire is raised 'igher it triggers her blue touch paper reaction and that can be a perilous experience for those who have ired her. I really enjoy your contributions to the forum and I would be very distressed if you were to to become late! Take care, my friend, take great care! Regards, Ron.
  15. Nice reply, Blaze. I guess Rob was incontinent on continent!
  16. Hi Bob Bath, I've just looked at your profile. You seem to be rather shy about disclosing your age According to my birth certificate I shall be 77 exactly four weeks today. Now what does that know, it's only a bit of paper. A bit of paper that's not worth the paper it's written on! I'm aiming to get to 80 and then I'll probaly give my two remaining little grey cells a break and give the youngters chance to become as intellectually superior as I like to think I was when I was a young man. Meantime I'll just sit at my keyboard and play the silly old codger card. Regards, Ron.
  17. Those were the days, my friend, sad they had to end - those days when you could guarantee at least two programmes worth watching most evenings. Those days when soaps were what you washed with. Ah yes, I remember them well!
  18. Stand by for a communication from the doyen of speedway statistics. From the Grand Vizier of all things New Cross Rangers. Here comes, hopefully, Norbold!
  19. Hi Sandie, I know Lettish quite well. You are quite correct Lettish is indeed Latvian and works on the greengrocery section of my local Morrisons. Stay well - stay sane, Ron.
  20. Hey Old-timer, You're getting us old-timers a bad name. Quaff a flagon of cider and then go and lie down in a darkened room!
  21. Thank you, Your Reverence. This old codger appreciates your thoughtful action.
  22. Please, reverend sir, I don't understand the question. How can there be results at this time from meetings held in the 2010 season? In Britain the 2010 season doesn't commence until roughly four months hence. Is New Zealand in a different time zone? This poor old codger is confused, can you please explain.
  23. I totally disagree with that comment, Marcel. Chewbacca has started a thread which has generated a number of replies both serious and jocular. Is this not the very basis of discussion - discussion being the foundation of each and every forum from those of ancient Rome to the ones most of us enjoy being part of in the 21st century. May I point out, with all due respect, that in expressing an opinion on the subject matter of a 'useless' thread you are surely destroying your own argument!
