Is It Time For Redcar To Dispense Of Matej Kus.
RedcarRacer replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would love to see the abuse Kus would get if somebody claimed his poor form was down to bad engine tuner - Ulrich is a shadow of his former self and most of the time appears to be fighting the bike rather than riding - I think he will do a good job for someone, I just think time has come for the Bears to get rid of a few names this winter. -
Is It Time For Redcar To Dispense Of Matej Kus.
RedcarRacer replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Whilst I am no fan of Kus and would not have him back next year - he is by far and away not the only culprit in this Bears side, which is very lucky to have made the play-offs and in no small way thanks to Dyer - indeed we have been a virtual three man team in the shape of Miky, Aaron and Hugh - the only three I would take back, although at best we can only expect Aaron and Hugh back. Wilkinson and Ostergaard have been very poor - Wilko not hitting 6 and Ostergaard just above a 7 - I would say they both dont get any more plaudits than Kus - and also I dont remember putting into a collection for Kus (injuries aside) to pay for equipment. It seems an annual event almost to have a whip round for Wilkinson to pay for equipment and same with Ostergaard, if it was not for Motive - god knows what the pair of them would have been riding. I hope for the sake of Redcar Kus, Wilkinson and Ostergaard are kicked out - none are good enough and none will improve. -
Some have been hinting something is afoot at Sheffield - all is revealed, fingers crossed buyer is found, sounds like there is interest. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/speedway/neil-s-love-affair-with-up-for-sale-tigers-is-over-1-6060921

Whoever wins the final deserves it, teams have know since first day winning it means nothing - most sports go down this route now, being stuck in the dark ages wont help the sport.

Haha Taylor clueless as ever! See you in the play-offs Glyn...oh no wait...

Redcar confirmed this via their Facebook page, dates to follow.

He is hardly going to add 4 to his average again is he?

Fingers crossed we can make it, personally I don't think Edinburgh would pick Redcar - one of the few places we would have an outside chance of winning at. Obviously depends on who finishes, top but Edinburgh aside - I would expect the Bears to be first pick, subject to us avoiding heavy defeat.

Obviously he would be welcomed back with open arms, but he is not our rider and will not be short of offers, so dont think he will be a Bear in 2014. -

A potentially have decent meeting was ruined by Joe Screen injury, although to be fair that Glasgow side were as bad as anything we have seen this season. Dakoa North aside and Anders Thomsen - who looked good when he got going - they were pretty woeful. The Bears were good, and did what they had to - was good to see Dyer get his paid max on probably his farewell appearance in Bears colours - nobody can fault Micky for his efforts this season - he has been superb from start to finish. Of the rest, I would only want Summers and Skidmore back - the rest dont deserve a place, Kus, Ostergaard and Wilkinson are just not good enough - Steve Worrall to be fair may be worth a shot as he is young and looks committed, again unlike the three just mentioned. However, given Havvy snr and the Consortium's wage budget - suspect Kus, Ostergaard and Wilkinson could be first on the team sheet as they will be nice and cheap! And a note on the track, for the third week running was in excellent condition - lets hope we have that all 2014! -
A really decent meeting, with a cracking crowd as Scunny brought a number of fans a couple we had the please of standing with, and they were great craic. The meeting was almost a carbon copy of the cup match, we started strong but were pegged back as Scunny threatened late on an the exclusion of Ryan Douglas in 12 was crucial - he did lean and gave Ostergaard no room, but as he went off I think most presumed all four back - but it was not to be and that was a big decision. Douglas put in a great effort for Scunny and was the pick of the reserves with the other three all well below par, especially a terrible effort from Wilkinson. A lot of riders had off nights, Auty and Ostergaard were nothing special and Dyer had a couple of good rides especially his win in 14. Howe had a shocker but clearly wasnt right, but the Aaron Summers was brilliant and fully deserved his maximum. Thomas Jorgensen performed well and Klindt was like Dyer, a couple of good rides. But as said a very good crowd and the track was decent, yes they could have moved more dirt to inside, but it was good nick with a good dirt line on the outside which Summers, Dyer and Klindt all used.

Interesting to say the least, I quite like him as a rider and is much better than NL guests...still be strange cheering a Worrall given who public enemy number one is at the STMP! http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/brian-havelock-happy-steve-worrall-5117780

Berwick V Redcar (13 July - Pl)
RedcarRacer replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To a certain degree that is true, and the promotion were very lucky to get Mickey - and silverware has never really been at the forefront of their thinking - if it had been we would have moved heaven on earth to keep Dyer at reserve until August - as we could have done whilst we had Davey in the side and as virtually every other club in the league would have. But Dyer has put a smile on our faces, the rest of the team are very solid - you may say ordinary - but as a unit even without Dyer would be hard to beat at home. -

Since Glyn Taylor left, Redcar - have cut their cloth accordingly and the promotion, whilst penny pinching have not struggled, they have also not threatened to sell the club. Taylor bought Redcar because he thought he could make money, thought it was easy and quickly found out it wasnt and because of this he said he would close the club down. luckily for Redcar investment was found. -

Wish Redcar fans would stop banging on about Glyn Taylor, remember that bloke tried to shut our club down - great track, but if it was down to him we wouldnt be watching speedway right now. -

But there was a threat of rain right up to the start, there was a huge cloud over the track at 7 and although it didnt rain there was no way of telling - given the down pour during the day, I think it was decent. Yes during the dirt could have been dragged down, but the racing wasnt too bad at all. And bumps in the first bend? Come on, recent weeks the track has been a lot smoother - hence Ostergaard and Dilger, our normal bucking broncos, have been going fine and Wilkinson doesnt count as he can fall at point on any track. -

Wind ya neck in, the track wasnt a disgrace, it was slick - but they could hardly do much work on it given the weather during the day. However, the Redcar management is a disgrace if what you are saying is right about the tyres - however, it doesnt surprise me. It would also explain why the fastest man on the track Ostergaard struggled to pass despite his best efforts. -

Have to agree, really disappointing in the end - we should have hit 60 but I think we got complacent. Track was ok but dusty but given weather dont think they could have done much else with it. Ostergaard look great early on - whilst Summers and Dyer were good but not great out the gate. Wilkinson was terrible after good opening ride. Auty came good whilst Birks and Palm Toft improved - was really impressed with Blackbird, good speed and was unlucky - deserved more points. Sets up a cracker tomoz. -

He was hurt last night during Czech test match with Poland, leg and rib injuries - will be R/R for both meetings, at least a week out if not longer. -
Edinburgh V Redcar (pl) 7/6/13 @7.30pm
RedcarRacer replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great win for the boys and an unexpected one, a real bonus. Disappointed with Skiddy whilst Max should be scoring more than that at Edinburgh - but that aside some terrific displays - even Matty claiming a couple of wins and Wilkinson, well he did more than his job - but really chuffed for Ulrich, starting to actually score like a number one. -

Have to agree Heat 15 was great - all four producing good moves. Have to say was really disappointed with Somerset expected more, and thought they would push us harder - given Ostergaard and Summers aside, we were far from our best. Kus was awful but clear his bike was about as quick as a BMX. -

Will be a good match and with no speedway for two weeks, and good weather - could be a bumper crowd too. Somerset look very strong with a lot of riders who ride the STMP well. We might sneak a win, but will be very close. -
Decent meeeting, track a bit dusty but decent. Dyer his usual excellent self, Ostergaard better, and Skidmore looked better as night went on. Proctor was the best rider on show, Lemon also performed very well. Them two aside Plymouth were pretty poor.
