  1. Could not be happier, with Skidmore to join that is a very good start - fingers crossed we can finish off what is a good looking side.
  2. Lawson officially announced on Redcar's Twitter feed.
  3. Delighted to have Lawson on board, very good rider who could master the STMP after a few weeks and has only got his best years ahead of him! Hats off to Havvy and co so far, good work.
  4. Having watched Ostergaard regularly in recent years, there has been nothing 'great' about him. It is always his bikes fault or lack of confidence etc etc. Yes his average is tempting, but have seen barely anything from him in recent years that should see him gain a team place next year. He has had great backing in England and from local Redcar sponsors, but he has not delivered. One of the biggest let-downs in recent years.
  5. Think we were one of the last in the PL last season and bagged Mickey Dyer late on, sometimes waiting does work.
  6. You say that, but from that article doesnt it basically confirm Mole wants in - which surely is only a good thing - well lets hope so. Nobody wants to lose Sheffield.
  7. Yeah granted he isnt really young, but when your used to signing the likes of Havvy, Stoney, Lyons, Grieves etc - it is young for us lol.
  8. As soon as Worky confirmed he was leaving, there was talk of that and with more and more clubs revealing names, it is looking more and more possible - would be delighted with him - a young, exciting, top class number one and one who will be very good around STMP once he is really dialed in. Fingers crossed. So maybe something like... 1 - Lawson 8.28 (but does he get reduction?) 2 - Manzares 5 (according to EL thread could be more) 3 - Summers 7.14 4 - Skidmore 5.65 5 - Smith 7.15 6 - Gregoric 4.12 7 - And then someone like Max Dilger or Todd Kurtz although you could sign someone over 5 and Manzares could start at reserve,
  9. Matej Kus has had some good meetings around Berwick hasnt he? Think someone will take a gamble on him.
  10. Matej Kus confirming on Facebook, he will be back next season just not in Redcar colours - a shame because he clearly has talent, but has been showing less and less of that in recent seasons. A real enigma, who should be top ten in PL but instead was nearer bottom 10. Good luck Matej, but probs best for both parties.
  11. Stick to your own team's thread, nobody cares if you attend or not. A number of Bears fans have clashed with the promotion but still attend as they support the club. Stick to the Greyghounds
  12. Decent line-up indeed, clearly Rosen and Kerr are the two Diamonds in the Rough Park line-up. Both could easily emerge into top-ten riders this season. Dont think the side looks as good as last year, will depend on whether Robson, Henry and Lindgren can do as well, think all three could very well drop off and Schramm will be first out the door.
  13. You forgetting the new party line from the Gregyhound stadium Bellers, they didnt want either of them anyway!
  14. The Worralls both turn their backs on the Gregyhounds and maybe Lewis Kerr too? But how could anyone turn their back on the best run speedway club in the land with the best track?
  15. Oh no, you must be right then! No riders and especially not the god like Mr Lyons would dream of doing such a thing. And although all riders benefit from points scored, you may be surprised to learn that a number earn a set fee and that is the majority of their pay - which some promoters do to work out their finances in advance. I know a number of Redcar riders whose majority pay was set as a yearly amount. Some riders also perfer this method, rather than all or nothing on points related, which is a very old archaic system but is why you see so many guests riding so well as that is purely points for pay - like the aforementioned Mr Lyons in 2011.
  16. By the same token, just because you say it didnt happen doesnt mean it didnt. And if I was always against Redcar from the start, why would I attend every week? And who mentioned hate? Only you. I never hate any rider, but I can disagree with his signing - that doesnt mean hate. Deary me, do you want me to have a word with the nurse for you, think the medication really needs adding too...never mind soon be bedtime.
  17. Whilst all the Newcastle babies react to Lyons comments, which are not merely made up as they would dearly like to believe...just because he is a nice guy, which he is, doesnt mean it didnt happen. But when have I said he wasnt a nice guy? I havent, I know he helped out many Bears riders, the lower order he would often try to show them how best way to get around the first and second bends with full throttle rather than tip toeing into it. And for the record I only bemoan him doing what he did as it was Redcar, I dont begrudge any rider making the best of his situation - but I would rather it not when I am helping to pay his wages. And unlike with Lyons, Stonehewer et al Gray Havelock, was, is and forever will be a Teesside sporting legend, if he did drop to reserve most true Middlesbrough/Redcar fans would not argue against that - yes horrible to see, but he is OUR legend, not a has been from elsewhere - huge difference, to even compare the likes of Lyons to Gary Havelock is lunacy. But anyway - end of the matter, this is a Redcar thread, so all you golden oldies geordies and mackems slope off back to the Newcastle thread and talk about how Richie Worrall is not a huge miss for the new season, and you never really wanted him back anyway! And because of my opposition to Lyons and Stonehewer, I do hope that we dont look at Stuart Robson - past it now and wont improve. I hope Havvy snr stands by his word and brings in a genuine number one who will average well in excess of 9 next season.
  18. He wasnt the first rider to do it and certainly wont be the last and anyone one who thinks it doesnt is naive beyond belief.
  19. Cook signs for Edinburgh - http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/speedway/monarchs-ace-craig-cook-signs-a-new-deal-1-3208670 but then his Tweet - very strange - Craig Cook ‏@the_cookstar 8h I have not signed for either 2 clubs as stated by @edinburghsport I am very angry and disappointed with Mr Kinvig and his false article
  20. He almost threw the towel in but then the guest bookings mysteriously rolled in once his average fitted...anyhow that is in the past, we need to look forward and hopefully that will begin with a genuine number one very soon.
  21. Welll donethe Evil Twin for turning his back on the dark side!
  22. I just didnt like Lyons for lowering his average to gain guest bookings whichhe did. And winning Bear of the year hardly constitutes anything. This year a guy who lowered his average beat someone who added 3 points. We need a younger hungry number one. With Summers and someone like Smith as tird heatleader.
  23. I personally wouldnt want Howe - Stonehewer, Lyons - etc we are sick of signing past it riders who have had better days elsewhere. The only Goldie oldie to perform for us has been Havvy, as he wanted too - we were just retirement tools for Stonehewer and Lyons, and both in their own ways robbed a living off us - we dont want a another rider like that.
