Some meeting and finish to the u-21s. It'll be Ward or Janowski who'll win it. -

I'm pretty sure that even if Fish scored a full max and was the best rider there, it would still be his fault Glasgow lost -

Wow a Monarch riding at number 1 for the Tiggers - that will be tough for the Glasgow faithful to cheer for I'm sure if he rides as well as he has been recently and also because he likes Brough - he'll more than equal what Joe would've scored. -
Leszno Gp - 24th April 2010
ylinenhare5-1 replied to GregM's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What a pleasure it was to watch the first GP last night in Leszno. And how good is it that Ole Olsen has gone! No more slick tracks and the way the track was last night, meant we had some tremendous racing. The track was pretty smooth and the riders had more than Ole's 1 line to race on! The biggest shocks of the night were the scores from Gollob (6 points and no heat win!), Hancock (4 points) and Jonsson (5 points). All 3 we have become accustomed to seeing always in the semis/finals - so it was a bad night for all 3. Bomber was a shock! After seeing him in the EL on Sky, I thought he'd struggle big time. But no, made it to the semis with 8 points (2 heat victories in that), but was left with the graveyard gate 4 - so out he went. But very positive for him, certainly unexpected! Tai done exactly what I thought he would. He shouldn't be in the SGP, IMO. He is a talented rider, but just because he has reverted back to being a Brit - shouldn't have made him a shoe in. Before Bomber's display, I actually thought it was poor to have 2 Brits in! Holder was a revelation and will do well. Suffered from a bike failure in his middle ride and this cost him a place in the semis. But he scored a good 8 points and was exciting to watch. Kolodziej was a surprise packet - the wild card was super quick and was defintiely worth his place in the round. All in all, the SGP looked exciting again! We were treated to fast, skillful racing on a well prepared track. If this was how the rest of the series is going to be, we are all in for a great season! -

That pretty much sums up my GP viewing too! Sick of the people that are in charge would have been more accurate! The sooner Kevin gets in the better though -

I'm sick of the GPs now - once used to get really excited about them, but now I'm just annoyed by them. Woffinden and Harris being included are a joke. Why people think Tai will do an Emil is beyond me - Harris won't do much better, but will score more than Tai IMO. Why on earth was Mataj Zagar overlooked? All they had to do was watch that magical race against Jason Crump at the SWC @ Peterborough and that alone should have made him a dead cert. -

What Do You Expect On Thursday
ylinenhare5-1 replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Indeed!!! I was screaming at the telly about that and all Kelvin could say was - "yes, Laguta came in too fast"................what??!!! Maybe Kelvin was confused as this is what riders do that actually give a damn. Richardson was so poor tonight and in that heat, he got a fright and laid it down - a little bit like when Harris done it against Andersen a couple of year back at Reading. Russia are on the up. For me, Team England are close to be the 6th best team in the world. Denmark and Australia are on another planet compared to Team England. Poland and Sweden are streets ahead too. And now the Russians with the Laguta brothers and Sajfutdinov coming through, Team England are struggling! Has to be the end of the line for Kennett and Richardson. For me only Tai and Chris done well tonight. Even Nicholls wasn't too great - considering how good HE thinks he is! -
Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
ylinenhare5-1 replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't get me started on the British Final - used to mean alot and there was plenty of competition and the odd surprise. But now its either Harris or Nicholls and just depends who is in the better form. Tai Woffinden, who has made massive strides in a short space of time, almost won the British Final this year. It was good to see, but shows how bad the competition is IMO. Nicholls seems more concerned with staying ahead of Chris, rather than concentrating on getting to the same level as his GP rivals - which he can't manage. Will be interesting to see if both Chris and Scott can score even half what they did in Cardiff in the next GP. -

Hopefully the youngest Laguta brother gets his visa sorted this time, as he will be an okay replacement. Don't count your chickens yet, team GB!! -

Was going to say that Paul, looked like an alright meeting watching it on Sky. With a few races offering some good racing - Rymel, Davidsson, Bjerre, Nermark, Bjarne off the top of my head. What I really worry for the sport is when you see a woeful EL meeting on Sky - does that mean it was even worse for the poor few who paid to go and watch it at the track -

Richardson may have been shocking, but I don't entirely agree that he is finished. Remember he won the semi-final of the GP qualifiers in Italy and is the only GB rider left in GP qualification final. I can understand people's frustrations towards the so-called - big 3 - but the youngsters would get slaughtered. They might try hard, but would get eaten alive by the Danes and Aussies! -

Give it a break! Hes just informing us that Emil won't be riding on Thursday, which I agree is a tremendous loss. What a talent that lad is - anyone that can boss Crump about the track and win, is some rider. -

ylinenhare5-1 replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Really annoyed that Emil won't be there. He would've made it an even more interesting contest. GB perhaps would've finished last in the race off, if Emil was there. Mind you, that is still a possibility after watching last night! -

You could see from the start that it wasn't going to be a good night. The riders looked nervous and uneasy when the national anthem was on. Perhaps the youngsters could do better, but I don't think so. Would just harm their development getting their butts kicked in Vojens! In saying that if Tai is ready, then surely Danny King and maybe Ben Barker are ready too?! I was actually laughing when Niels cut back to beat Nicholls in heat 16 - I was kind of hoping that Team England wouldn't win a heat all night, just to stop them making it look better than it was. Very impressed by Rymel and Dan 'The Man' last night. Done the PL proud and they can now add SWC heat wins to their CVs! -

Doesn't matter who the manager is when your riders ride like that! Motivation is one thing, but miracle working something completely different!!!!!! Well we've stolen Tai from Aus, maybe we should get more into geneology and see what British relations other young and upcoming Aussies have After tonight, maybe Tai might re-consider his decision! -

Congrats to team GB. A rather good, consistent score from William to score 10. Runners up is no disgrace considering the opposition.
