  1. Any other Peterborough/Speedway fans from around the late 80s early 90s think looking at this picture of Tate Zischke , see Mick Poole's hair coupled with the face of either Nigel Sadler or perhaps Rod Colqhoun , uncanny or what !!! https://britishspeedway.co.uk/rowe-motor-oil-premiership/aces-move-for-zischke/
  2. The licence for Peterborough will be sold to the consortium once the consortium has secured a track somewhere for the club to race on again and not until then.
  3. Ok my mistake , then its just a planned family holiday instead then
  4. Its a rearranged fixture so expect Rob Lyon just has a pre booked holiday ,
  5. If Holder had picked Gate 3 after his semi win from there he would of most likely won the final.
  6. Cannot see anyone else really wanting to run the speedway at Lynn with the history of who they would be dealing with and the previous experience in mind that it seems has ended badly with Alex Brady. Wouldn't be surprised if in 2025 the Trackstar Stock Car promotion are not given more dates including some in midweek as Buster would make more money from the stadium's use for his pocket this way and with little or no hassle to him.
  7. If the application went in as far back as December then AEPG should be made to restore the Grandstand to its previous state of condition asap as it shouldn't have been decommissioned until the nomination was heard, there was a comment also made on facebook not by the Cllr that July 20th maybe the date of the 2 applications being heard ,but this i expect is to be confirmed .
  8. As posted by Cllr Julie Stevenson on Facebook PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY News that the city council has accepted the parish council's NOMINATION for the grandstand to be listed as an Asset of Community Value. This is an important step in the process and we await the outcome of the assessment in the weeks to come. This is essentially to prevent the grandstand from being destroyed. Whether or not the application will be successful remains to be seen, but what's important is this very strong gesture on the part of the parish council in support of Peterborough speedway. I thank them for #savethepanthers
  9. Truckfest taking place over this coming BH weekend at the Lincolnshire showground in Lincoln , The East of England showground had hosted this show for 40yrs from 1983 until 2023 , The Lincolnshire showground will be packed with thousands of truckers this weekend whilst the EOES this weekend will just see the grass growing a bit higher and maybe the wind blowing through the holes caused by the removal of the rear panels in the Grandstand #ghosttownshowground
  10. It is surely the riders responsibility to get to a meeting from wherever he/she starts there journey from, Tungate i believe said he was stuck in traffic holdups on route to the airport , was it then his fault for the hold ups but he ended up with a ban and fine so why not Doyle, Assume an investigation is held by the SCB to find out what the rider actually did and to provide proof of there actions to resolve the travel issue in an attempt to still make the meeting If Tungate and Doyle were both therefore not in a position to make alternative arrangements given time scales etc then they should be treated in the same manner , But this is British Speedway and at times no 2 cases that seem the same have the same outcome sadly .
  11. If Chapman carries out his said intention that 2024 is his last season in Speedway. Maybe the consortium should buy the Panthers licence and use the AFA temporarily to run the Panthers team until a closer to home resolution is found for the Peterborough area,
  12. With the inclusion of BSN meetings in riders averages now theres every chance by the time Oxford return in the league there team could be stronger and the at present long tail shortened. this score could end up being a blessing in disguise for the Cheetahs.
  13. At least hes got some spare hinges for the pit gate now, courtesy of the fence demolition at Peterborough
  14. Until the outcome is finally resolved concerning the LP policies, it doesn't matter who is or isnt involved & the club will remain in its present state of limbo No fool would invest a vast amount of money from there own pocket whatever there wealth if theres a chance of funds having to be made available from elsewhere. If the club does have a future the consortium will then go though and buy out Chapman and who knows have a future plot of land ready to go or even an emotional return to the showground .
  15. Cannot see AEPG stumping up any money anytime soon even if they were told to adhere to the policy , They will just drag there heals no doubt stating they need to sell x amount of houses to fund the costs thus dragging it on and hoping the interest will go away from those wanting the speedway to return, It could be there cheapest option if there told to comply to the policy just to hand over the land the track and Grandstand are sat on in its present state, But cannot really see them even doing this , so as stated this could be a very long winded stand off that could stretch into many years of frustration.
  16. If the meeting goes ahead tonight someones going to have lots of fun cleaning the white Oxford team kevlars !!
  17. Did someone called Catherine send you that picture by any chance
  18. The last few words will give many a Panthers fans a chuckle , its taken from the Lynn Premiership preview on the British Speedway website "It is perhaps little surprise that there is a healthy former Peterborough contingent in the Lynn team of 2024, which was a logical move when it became clear that the site owners were giving the Panthers no prospect of continuing at the Showground despite the extensive efforts of Keith Chapman and his team."
  19. Now that the track lights have been completely removed ,did they end up going to Workington as rumoured or elsewhere or for scrap . Absolutely depressing to see the showground as it is now from the recent video,
  20. When ever i have attempted to sign in to account these past weeks either on tablet or phone it states the connection is not secure, only site that does this on my devices, haven't been able to use any of the like/funny buttons at all during this time, just really gives me another reason to continue to give the sport even more of a wide berth now
  21. As an unattached rider expect shes adapted to just changing in a van but now shes apart of an official league team within the Uk she has to be entitled to the same facilities as her team mates , its something completely new within british speedway and im sure her requirements will be met , would be a bummer if there made to provide something that costs the clubs then she got dropped from the team.
  22. Does this signing mean all championship clubs will now need to provide separate changing and shower facilities for her .
  23. Will team changes be on the agenda if Buster has to payout the 35k , Tarasenko and Wojdylo out , Jorgensen and Simon Lambert in ?
