Now I'm back in the UK I'm looking forward spending my Tuesday nights on the island again.... Aye?...Thursdays? Have I really been away that long? Good luck to the IOW promotion and I can't wait to see all my "caulkhead" friends again...on any night of the week...

Some really good, honest posts regarding this signing. I got to know Rik and his family really well in the past. We shared some great times. We shared some good times. And we shared some not so good times. Barry...I have to say that your post is very honest and very professional. There are many reasons why certain riders don't live up to their true potential and your post explains some of these in a caring, understanding and professional way. If you can get the best out of Rik, he really could be a steal on a 3 point average. I for one can't wait to see him back on the big IOW track that I know he can be so good on. It will be good to meet up with him and his dad in the pits again.....and remember Rik...get that velco on your seat and keep looking forward. You Mug! Cheers, Steve

I don't come onto the forum as much as I used to, so I've just seen this sad news. I used to chat with Byrn most nights on the ferry back from the island and as everyone has commented,he really was a very special person. His knowledge of speedway must surely have been second go none. And despite all the troubles that speedway faced, he remained so positive and had an enthusiasm that was almost infectious. Good night Byrn, sleep well. My thoughts go to his family at this difficult time. Steve

Agreed. Don't think anyone has signed him. I was trying to get a debate going...although I still think if...and its a big if...he gave it a proper go, he would be able to put vat least 2 points onto his average.

Well done to all those who have worked so hard to bring speedway back on the Island. I can't wait to get back over and hopefully meet up with many old friends again.
