  1. It clearly states in a recent notification to all riders that Starting Marshalls must bring the riders up to the tapes in starting grid order from the inside. I would suggest that in addition to the riders, all Starting Marshalls and referees also need to be made aware of this then hopefully much cleaner starts can be looked forward to.
  2. This is interesting. Would be nice if they themselves could assure us that all is well.
  3. Totally agree Gemini. This has been a part of Coventry Speedway for as long as I can remember and it is also one of my favourite records.
  4. Last year DH was still building the new toilets block a week before the start so there is still plenty of time to lay a path.
  5. The new official BEL heats format for 2015 is now available and is as follows:- 12 v 12 67 v 67 35 v 35 47 v 47 26 v 26 34 v 15 15 v 34 47 v 26 26 v 47 35 v 12 12 v 35 67 v 67 15 v 15 34 v 34
  6. I agree. Major league countries only then. i.e Poland, Sweden, UK and perhaps Denmark. riders from other countries to be able to nominate a preferred home league and one other.
  7. Let's get rid of fixed gate positions then. Just let the losing team always have first choice of gates. A much fairer and more balanced races format can then be achieved.
  8. In last season's format the home number 6 never was never programed to ride against the away number 4. He rode twice against 2 & 6 and 4 times against 7 but never against 4. I think this should be addressed also. You are correct to call for the better reserve to be pitted more against the opposing 2 & 4.
  9. They could insist that one of the 2 leagues must be in the rider's own country. In the case of Australians, Americans etc the riders residencial country could apply.
  10. The easiest way to introduce the away team's number 4 before heat 5 is to let him change places with the number 2 in heat 4 with the number 2 riding in heat 5 instead.
  11. And Wozniak might be on 5.50 for Leicester.
  12. Is this government ruling no longer in force? I ask this because Jason Doyle is believed to be affected but he surely complies with the requirement to have finished in the top 4 in The Australian Championship having done so in the past 2.
  13. According to Jason Doyle on the BSI site he has a lot of good things to say about not only Leicester Lions but about David Hemsley.
  14. At last season's BenFund meeting the 2 ticket office ladies were congratulated on their efforts and expertise by the league's representatives and invited on to the centre green for a well deserved thank you. Every match they have to work out the prices for all the various catagories unlike most other tracks which have separate entrances for concessions , children etc. I think they do a fine job in such circumstances. I agree that some contingency method needs to be applied on certain special occasions but generally things work ok.
  15. Totally agree with you regarding raking the starting area etc. and regarding having to wait for a replacement rider perhaps there should not be one if a rider is disqualified for any starting procedure incident. Just remove the offending rider and get on with it. They'll realize then that they will have to do it right in future.
  16. I don't think I've ever seen anyone rake over the starting gate area at Leicester in between races.
  17. Yes indeed, very well done. Hope he keeps it up next season.
  18. I said he impressed me with the way he kept trying even when he was at the back unlike most others. Some of his efforts were very entertaining with one race against Jason Doyle standing out. With more track knowledge he could be a very good signing. Anyway 17 from 10 is almost an average of 7 which would get better with more track time.
