  1. It most certainly is a tough sport. It is the toughest riding meeting in the world after all. It's a pity a certain colleague of yours won't see it this way. There would not have been a murmour if it had been the other Pedersen involved.
  2. Millard and Tatum are in a studio in England watching it on a TV monitor. They can only comment on what the local producer is showing at the time.
  3. As I have said many times before the original GP challenge meeting was the fairest method of selecting the qualifiers for each following year's GP series. If say the top 8 were reinvited, 7 could come from a meeting involving the rest plus 9 that had successfully come through the World Championship qualifiers. If the GP Challenge's top 6 then joined up this would leave a place for the Under 21 champion who I agree should be invited. Jason Crump started his GP career in such a manner I think. Personally I think places should be offered to each of the top speedway nations national champions first and then the remaining places offered to the others finishing in the top 8 and the remaining places going to the Under 21 Champ and to those doing best in the GP Challenge.
  4. I would like it if all the major speedway country's national champions were all invited to the GP World Championship by right. Such nations being say GB,Sweden,Poland,Denmark,Australia, USA. Would make the Britsh Final more meaningful.
  5. Don't think anyone who is not in the original 15 competitors count in the final standings
  6. We might have finished only a handful of points behind Denmark but we needed to use up all our sub options to do so.
  7. It's a laughing stock anyway (well British Speedway is)but I agree with you about these commentators
  8. "JOKE" R is a very apt speedway word. Just scrap it and simply allow teams that are 6 or more points behind to replace a rider with a tactical substitute up to a maximum of 3 times using 3 seperate riders. No more unfair "JOKE R" double points.
  9. But Crump was himself crowded out from his outside. He could either shut off or move over. Just one of those things.
  10. Yes it was a tremendous meeting. Only a Fin might think otherwise but seriously I do truly feel that all teams should be allowed the opportunity to use their joker. Poland could have won this by being the only one of those in contention to gain 3 extra points which I feel is unfair on the others. By all means let it be used to, as John P of BSI keeps telling me, to keep the racing interesting, but teams not having been allowed to use it should in the last race. Racing will still be interesting but the result will at least be fairer. I don't think it would have mattered last night but it might have done.
  11. Who said at least once every race 'If it stays like this the position will be.........!'
  12. Crump got moved over by yhe rider on his outside and he accidently crowded Reima. Nobody's fault. Should have been all 4 again but as it was entering the straight it wasn't considered to be first bend bunching. Unfortunate but an accident.
  13. Now it's my turn. As they say in Mastermind, Ive started so I'll finish (this thread) but I have not submitted my team yet. Well here goes. Scott Nicholls Mark Loram Simon Stead Chris Louis Dean Barker Good luck to whoever rides and congratulations to those who have in fact been chosen by NM Thanks also to everyone who participated in this thread.
  14. Assuming either Poland or Australia win the first one and Denmark win the second then Team GB will probably face Poland or Australia, Sweden and either USA or Czech in the race off. Can we finish in the top 2?
  15. Something on these lines was also talked about on Saturday also.
  16. Did you catch Keith Hewden and Sam Ermolenko calling for the losing semi finalists to get some bonus points for their efforts on Saturday. Somebody should tell them we thought about it first.
  17. Exactly. This is what I have been saying all along. It does not matter how good or how badly a rider performs if he gets there on merit in the first place. This year 2 of the 3 new free entries were not considered good enough by most people and to date they are in fact occupying the bottom 2 places and only one of the 4 regulars picked is currently in the top 10. Of the current top 8, 7 are the same as in 2005. Yes I agree the top 10 should requalify but would suggest that only 3 should come from the GP Qualifiers. 1 place should be left for the promotor's pick to allow for injury to a regular and the 16th place be reserved for the host country wild card choice. Why were 2 top internationals picked as the track reserves by Denmark, I thought it was practice to invite 2 up and coming youngsters to be blooded.
  18. He sure took retribution on Niki P once didn't he?
  19. Bo he didn't but he said "Disappointing" at least a hundred times. Well it seemed like it.
  20. But he finished ahead of Lee Richardson and he was invited back in. That's the point.
  21. I agree. Any standard of speedway at any new venue should be encouraged.
  22. I like your last comment. Everytime I go to America you only read or hear about anything in the news if it involves an American doing well.
  23. Noticed the Luxo Stars team printed at the bottom of a Captain marvel post.as Peter Karlsson(10.21) Michael Max(6.71) Hans Andersen(10.12) Charlie Gjedde(6.80) Andreas Jonsson(7.78) Ulrich Ostergaard(5.91) Ricky Ashworth(3.99) The averages are those currently being shown by Steve Turner in our Elite League. Do they have rider control in Sweden and if so what is the maximum team average? Can anyone help?
  24. Should the 5 riders selected be those that did best at BV yesterday?
