Elite League Pairs
tellboy replied to I HATE THE RAIN's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I thought the idea of having this event early was to avoid the drop-outs.Before the full swing of the GPs. -
It certainly looks that way Semion. What with the Stars and the BSPA making statements on the same day and the same time. I personally want us to stay PL basically because it is better value for money and you get to see different teams most weeks. But as a supporter of the Stars i would go along and watch them in the EL,because that is what supporters of teams do.
-
I am sure Lynn would never run under Peterboroughs name. And Peterborough don't have an issue with the rental of the Showground i don't think. They have a problem with some of the new rules to what i can gather.
-
I agree to that,we don't want to see the same teams 3 or 4 times a season. And we as supporters have to pay a higher price too
-
Could someone post on here what it says.I am not a member of facebook and i assume there are many others that are not either. I am disappointed if this is the case.We won't get the variety of teams as we did in the PL. There must have been one mighty big carrot dangled in front of Buster for him to do this.Or is he?
-
You can't blame Lasse if Peterborough have offered good money. If somebody offered me better money than what i'm on now i would be gone like a shot. And i disagree about the BSPA bit if it was the same rules for all teams this whole saga wouldn't even have been an issue. Peterborough have a few assets that haven't even rode for them yet.I am sure there are some sweeteners for there PL clubs they are loaned to somewhere down the line. With the Darcy situation did anybody actually give him an offer before his 12th match? With the way he was with the club at the end of season i am just glad he got past the 12th match,or else i am sure he would have done the same just to put one over the club.
-
I don't see why young Lasse seems to be coming in for all this stick.Surely any young rider with the class and ambition as he does will only use the Premier League as a stepping stone. Darcy Ward done this last year. The only problem i see is the BSPA not making him an asset of King's Lynn because he hasn't done 12 matches. It's the Bspa and their rules that need looking at not Lasse. And i may recall i thought Peterborough were interested in him at the start of the season(i may be wrong it was 8 months ago).I know they must have took a look at him when he rode in the first challenge meeting at the showground.

Kings Lynn 2011 World Cup
tellboy replied to horse17's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Excellent news that Kings Lynn has got this event again. It was an outstanding success this year. Just checked my work pattern for next year and it's my first day off -
If they are being re-assessed before 12 meetings i wouldn't think that team would fit.Unless the team average goes up. I think the reason being,Kerr done 11 matches and would average around 8.

Doing a bit of a road trip for this one, then getting back for Newport on Sunday. Is the any cashpoint machines near the stadium anyone know? -
Personally i thought the meeting was poor. The only thing that kept me interested was having a few pence placed on the winner of each race, and for Sweden to win the meeting with skybet.
-
Have you ever thought promoters don't want to come up to the so called elite just to lose money week after week. And it's not just some PL teams that don't want to race in the EL how about Hampel,Gollob,Crump,Holta,Pedersen,Jonsson,Zetterstrom,Hancock and Sayfutdinov these are all in the top 15 in the world right now.If the Elite league is the place to be surely these riders would be there.

Are you just saying speedway should cost the same in all countries or generally everthing.Because the cost of living is different in all countries. You can go to some countries and it will be cheaper to live, and you can go to others and it will work out dearer to live. -

Charges(roughly)i think are for the race-off cheapest adult £17 dearest adult £36.50 kids £8 Final cheapest adult £28 dearest adult £50.50 kids £8 I worked these from the prices given on the speedway gp website and at 8.9DKK to the Pound. -

Most of them are already here earning our wages. You only have to visit East Anglia and you will see. This is why they can afford the British GP and more. As i said earlier i have a Polish friend from work he went to the GP at the Millenium and his friends went with him.He also met up with some of his Polish friends there and they come from Glasgow. So i would say most of the Poles you would see at these events are actually living here and earning the wages we do. -

Can't really compare it on a like for like basis if they are held in two different countries.Salaries etc are completely different. As i said earlier as they earn alot less in Poland £5 works out alot to the Polish people. And as the majority of people would be from Poland they had to do the costs accordingly. -

Your point being? Their stadiums will be better as they have major crowds over there as it is their main sport. As i said there wages are alot lower to ours,so prices for events will be cheaper.I have a friend who i work with he is from Poland(and also a speedway fan).He seems to think Poland is as dear as Britain when you take the difference of wages into account. -

I thought it was reasonably priced tonight.Got my tickets at the end of June costing £15 for an adult and £5 for a child. Is this the same as Birmingham charge for a Premier League match. But tonight you get 10 extra races. As for the Poles charging alot less, they have to as the salaries over there are nowhere near as good as ours. This is why there are so many Poles over here earning a living. -

2010 Premier League Pairs
tellboy replied to Shadders's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Just got back from my first stay in Somerset and my first ever visit to the O.T.A. The racing was pretty good all night i thought and the best team won on the night.Josh Auty was awesome if that man could gate he would be in the SWC in a couple of weeks. But then again if he could gate he would probably be boring, can't have it both ways i suppose. The only problem i had was the viewing,i think i was looking through some kind of green mesh which obscured my view a bit and with so many people there i couldn't get up the banking. Another thing i would like to add is how i thought all the locals was very friendly and helpful, not just at the speedway but throughout our mini tour of Somerset as a whole. Hopefully the Pairs will again be on at Somerset the same weekend as the GP next year and we will make the visit again. -
