Madzzz Testimonial 16th March
tellboy replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Can't see Tom riding. He still has lots of good friends over here that is probably why he was over. -
I quite like the new format, but I too have my concerns for the averages of riders for the following season. Do the reserves get an average or do they simply stay at reserve the following season. If they gain an average for the following season this could go against the good reserves getting a team place for next season. If for instance L.Kerr has a decent season he rides against 2 reserves twice and a 2nd string and reserve twice in a meeting he could average 6 quite easy.Would he get a place the following season on a 6.

But if you read it properly, the promoters were only rumoured to be in talks with Tai on the 18th. Now on the SGP site on the 21st it said he was riding for the Stars

Well I'm allright with it,i will still pay my normal £16.Leave the £25 seats to the prawn sandwich brigade.

Pretty sure he had a lot of involvement with Mark Loram. -
Most I would say

Not still going on about Lambert's age are you.If the Bpsa don't approve it then as someone said we bring in Mallett and then re-declare a week or so later,by naming him now surely saves so much hassle.
-
Totally agree with you that all foreigners should come in on a 5.00,at least if that was the case some promoters may even look more towards putting some British riders in their team. When these foreign riders are on such low averages promoters will always look abroad.
-
I was just going to put the same team as you on here.Think Ljung would be a steal on 5.6

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
tellboy replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Why would it take out four wages? The NL boys could be in demand so could get a higher points money. And at the end of the day there will always be the same amount of points up for grabs in a match. At present teams have to be paid on 90pts in a match regardless of who rides for who.The only way to bring costs down is to pay less per point. -
If they find a new owner why can't they go back into the EL.
-
Sorry, was looking at the NL averages
-
I can't see it being as bad as that. For instance Adam Ellis has a higher average than Kerr and it looks like he will be one of Lakeeside's reserves.I'm sure they won't open the door to the youngsters one way and then instantly shut it in another.
-
Looking at what he said on the GP site it certainly looks like Poole or Lynn he has been talking to.I had a feeling last year when he signed for Plymouth that it will benefit Poole for the following season. So i'm going with Poole but who knows.
-
What time is the kick off,do you know.
-
Slightly off topic here, but is it correct that Mads,NKI and Schlein are playing in a charity football match at the Walks on the 17th Nov.If they are I think I will go along to watch.

Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
tellboy replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why?This is why so many fans despise many things about Poole, they just think they can do anything they want. Why should Peterborough have had to move their match to suit Poole. -
Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
tellboy replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Couldn't have taken place the following Monday as Belle Vue were due to ride at Peterborough. If it didn't take place on the day it was rode,Poole would have most likely missed out on the playoffs due to the cut-off date.So you can see why it was desperate for Poole to get the meeting on. -

[quote name='Steve Shovlar' timestamp='1380632272' post='2354082' And where's Gavan? His ban is surely over now. Or has he gone AWOL ,only to re-appear if we lose to Brum in the final? He has been slating Poole all season. Probably gone into a self imposed exile or topped himself after heat 14 last night. in front of two massive crowds. A fitting way to end what has been an enjoyable season. I remember someone else doing this earlier in the season when things wasn't going to well for their club.Just can't think of his name, maybe you might know Shovlar -
He obviously has had his comitments abroad sorted early on,so why should he ride here and let the others down.I like his ambition especially by going abroad so he could get competitive racing from a young age.

Poole V Swindon 30 September 2013 Second Leg
tellboy replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's a silly remark.I don't believe the voice of reason mentioned anything about a rider being injured.I would say most speedway fans if not all fans don't wish for any rider to be injured irrespective of who they ride for. -
Was looking forward to going to this meeting, but with all the absences it has a feel of a normal EL meeting.Bit disappointed but if my daughter still wants to I will go,if she don't I won't simples.
