Australian Gp Is Back
tellboy replied to Stats's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well I enjoyed that GP.Plenty of good racing and incidents. And the odd bit of controversy, especially with Masters.I may go against the grain here but I like a few incidents like the Masters one, shows a bit of passion and it certainly gets people talking. It didn't hurt in the 70s and 80s when teams had their villains and the crowds would turn up in their numbers then. Liked the commentary team of Tapp and Crump,at least we didn't have to turn the volume down on the tv.Really liked some of Tapp's phrases. Hope Doyle isn't to badly hurt, that was one big crash. Roll on 2016 -
I don't get these comments about Lambert owes the club another season at least. If his average didn't suit Lynn would they want him back.Clubs use riders more than riders use clubs I'm afraid as it's an averages game at the end of the day.
-
What makes me laugh is when people hear rumours and take them as gospel
-
That's 1 more point than the other new superstar Kurtz(according to some) got last week at Edinburgh
-
Ok as you have been trawling through the seasons matches, tell me how many double uppers were riding for their PL teams when Lynn were riding at home.I would say less than 2.You say when teams have come to Lynn missing riders the main problem was the D/U when it hasn't,just stating a fact. You got all defensive on that. And no I know everything isn't rosy in the garden far from it.Most fans know that.I can't believe you said that because I picked up on a something that wasn't correct
-
Don't get that excuse really.95% of the time Lynn ride at home on a Wednesday and no PL club ride on a Wednesday. So double uppers should be available to ride EL on a Wednesday. Yes teams came to the AFA with rider/s missing at times, but I cant think of any that turned up without a d/upper because he was riding PL.Most occasions the riders missing were actually injured at the time.
-
I would think Mondays and Wednesdays would suit better.Thursdays you have Sheffield,Ipswich and Redcar riding at home, plus the Swedish second division. Some of the riders currently riding over here ride in that league.
-
Looks a decent team.Under the current format though that team would nearly be a point over the points limit.

Rookie Question About Scoring

Not on official BSPA averages which is the most important.Averages without bonus points count towards team building.guest replacements etc. -

Bonus points don't count towards your average -
Southern Track Riders 2015 - With New Dates Added
tellboy replied to Official STR's topic in Training Tracks / Amateur
Didn't know whether to put it on here but I often attend these meetings at Lynn.Last weekend Dan Gilkes come off and went to hospital just wondered if anyone knew how he was. -
That's the reason I put Bjerre in my initial team.5.78 starting average for next surely can only go one way.If he starts the first month poorly get rid.Obviously you need to try and build your team with riders who will improve on their starting averages. He can also double down for your team aswell now

I like the look of that team of triers as long as Barker and Garrity weren't partnered blimey accidents galore there. But ultimately I think you need a balance of good riders whether their boring or not and riders like Harris,Lambert and Garrity that will give their all for the cause. At the end of the day its a sport and its all about winning just ask Matt Ford that.Thats why Poole seem to get the better crowds. They have not necessarily had the most exciting teams but they win which is what 95% of supporters want for their teams.

Give us your team then

That is a serious breach of the rules if he wasn't wearing the cut off lanyard.Even the mechanics, riders warming up their bikes in the pits have to put these on. -

Robert Lambert rode without a dirt deflector and got noticed after the race he was deducted his points.Surely if the ref was told before Newmans race the least he could have done was to look at the footage after the race and then exclude him,or is that too simple.Referee totally at fault in my book. Why do people also compare speedway to football totally different ball game . In a lot of motorsports if you infringe on the rules you actually receive penalty points, which puts you further back in the field or lose podium positions. -

He didn't achieve his average over the 2 legs in actual fact he was nearly a point lower.5.76 was his average over the 2 legs -

Why take Zagar's extra 3 points off, everybody and their dog knows that the TD is in the rule book .Whether you a for or against the TD a rule wasn't broken in that instance. -

Me too, that was when Smalling scored. Oops sorry wrong sport -
My initial thoughts are 1.Iversen 2.Bjerre 3.Lambert 4.Porsing 5.A.Jonsson 6.Kerr 7.???? Pretty much the same as this season but with the addition of AJ who should be another big hitter alongside NKI. I am worried with Bjerre at present, but with him on such a low appealing average i wouldn't want to see him at another club in England only to replicate his Polish form with them.

If a reason is given Newman could possibly have overtaken 1 rider then it would have been a 2-4 not 1-5 a difference of 2points .Anyway if it was re-run any outcome was possible not just a Poole 5-1 which most people seem to think would happen.
