  1. Despite the low rider numbers in Finland at the moment, a handfull of them seem to be promising youngsters. Finland seems to get overlooked for speedway talent as they rarely get the chance to showcase thier talent. How fantastic it would be to see a touring team hit the UK similar to the USA Dream Team, would certainly be a hell of a lot cheaper for the Finns than the Americans logistically, and i feel they would be more competitive.
  2. Has there been any further news on the future of Kaparna? I am due to see them race at Dackarna in May but have been reeding lately that they may not have a home track to race on unless Tommy Rander gives up his role as director and allows a new management to come in to negotiate with the Arendal Stadium owners. Hope they can get something sorted, was looking forward to my trip!
  3. Does anyone know whats happening with Kaparna? I heard rumours that they would not be allowed to return to Arendal after all after falling out with landlords but don't know whether this was true or not.
  4. Fantastic Steve!!!! You are indeed a 'Speedway Genius'!! Cheers Mate
  5. Was wondering if anyone could help me! In I think 1998 a young Dansih rider signed for Stoke. I'm not even sure he rode an official fixture for them. He was present at Press and Practise and then something happened which lead to him not riding for the Potters. Would anyone have a clue who im talking about ? Many Thanks P.S If my memory is correct he had a pont tail!!
  6. Does he race in the Bundesliga? If that is what it's still called
  7. Fantastic, thanks for that Iris. Looking at that link he races every form of Speedway imaginable!! Pretty impressive. Hopefully see him over on these shores again in the future.
  8. Was wondering if any fans from Germany could tell me a little bit more about this guy. Thought he rode really well at Telford at the weekend, and was very entertaining. he scored well in both the team and individual events. Had a quick word with him in the car park after the meeting and seemed a very sociable guy. Although I only managed to find out that he'd done some meetings for Broskstedt in the German Second divison and wish I would have have found out more about him! Does he race a lot on the ice or is he purely a Speedway rider ? Cheers
  9. Does anyone know what has happened to former Wolves rider Krzysztof Pecyna? He was riding for Gniezno last season but can't seem to find his name anywhere for 2007! Hope he gets fixed up, good rider!! Sadly missed at Monmore Green, well by me anyway!!
  10. Once again, i am hoping to get hold of some information about a meeting in Sweden!! Having just come back from the Grand Final at Vetlanda having had a great time, we have decided to head back over for Tony's final lap at Avesta. Now the question i was hoping to get answered was this: I was wondering if any of the swedish based forum users are aware of the ticket arrangements for the meeting if this has been anounced, wether tickets will be available at the gate or if they will have to pre-book? Many Thanks in advance once again!!
  11. Thats excellent Tarabanko!! The meeting in Gothenburg, would that be at Kaparna? Thats pretty handy for us as we will be leaving Vetlanda first thing and driving back to Gothenburg to fly out on the night !
  12. Was just wondering if there are any meetings of any sort happening in Sweden this Sunday. We will be over for the Grand Prix Challenge on Saturday and was wondering if anybody is riding on the Sunday anywhere? If not we'll just drive back into Gothenburg and spend the day at Liseberg! Thanks for any info!!
  13. Here Click on SM Live on top of the news items!!
  14. Is anyone else planning to make the rip over to Vetlanda for this one? We have now got everything booked, flying into Gothenburg then hiring a car for the weekend (very cheaply to) then driving down to Vetlanda. Although am still waiting to see what the line ups are for the the three qualifying rounds in early July.
  15. Im hearing lots of things about the showers at Lavernock, i think i'll go and swim in the sea instead!
  16. No we haven't, although we were planning on driving to Penarth, banging the tent up then driving back into Cardiff for the whole day save on the taxi fares a bit, it looks like it's out on the sticks a bit so i can see how it would cost you a fortune!!
  17. Is anyone camping over the Cardiff weekend ? We are planning on it but the weather had better pick up or else it aint gonna be to pleasnat. We'll be camping at Lavernock Point i think in Penarth. Where is everyone else stopping ?
  18. Great!! I'm fed up with the weather on my own doorstep never mind travelling to get wet!!! August should be ok..... shouldn't it!!!!!
  19. Was wondering if anyone was planning on going to this meeting, could be a real cracker!! Wouldn't mind a visit, so i was wondering if anyone has either * been to Vetlanda before * or perhaps oany Swedish fans could give me any tips on the best way to get to Vetlanda? I've been told the best way is to fly into Stockholm or Gothenburg and get a train to Vetlanda which apparantly takes about 3 hours. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!! Andy
  20. Does anybody know who Krzysztof Pecyna has signed for in Poland? Have been looking all over the internet trying to find it, must have missed it.
  21. We are mereley showing an interest in a foreign Speedway League. This does not mean that we are not interested in the development of youth in the UK. If the foreigners that we have racing in the UK at the moment were absent, we would have a pretty poor product on our hands. It is a fact that as a small country, and not a big Speedway nation, we have to rely heavily on foreign riders competing in the UK, and in my view, i dont ever see this changing. Shouldn't we as Speedway fans be supporting efforts around the World to try and make speedway better and stronger, wether that be in New Zealand, USA or any other Nation. I would expect any Speedway fan to be pleased that some sort of racing on a team level was being put together in the states, it does none of us any personal harm and people are working hard on trying to make the sport a success, and instead of decrying what they are trying to do perhaps offer them some words of encouragement. Surely it is in everyones interests that they succeed.
