  1. Just the same as Jerzy Szczakiel wasn't the best rider in the world when he was World Champion...
  2. As I have repeatedly said on here. I prefer plain league and round-robin formats (you score most points, you win), but that's not what most sports seem to want today. Funny thing is, in the days of the old World Finals, most speedway fans seemed happy with scraping through the qualifying rounds, and then everybody starts from scratch next time...
  3. Trouble is, he is all over the place - literally. It seems to me that he is over-riding.
  4. It's not just about his ability; his experience and work behind the scenes is irreplaceable. Replacing a three-timw World Champ with a youngster making his major debut?
  5. So, it's not just me wondering that, then? NOTHING annoys me more than constant misspelling of names - often simple ones (like "Nicky Pederson" or "Lee Richardsson")...
  6. That's it exactly. As I've said, people long for Wembley Finals, but generally the racing was mediocre at best; we enjoyed the occasion and the atmosphere...
  7. I'm always watching old videos, and I've asked the question on here before - did we REALLY think it was that good back then?
