  1. I'd like to see what is going to happen in darts; the Russians are totally dominating the Youth game. In the boys' world rankings, they fill 2nd through 6th, and have another five in the Top 20. In the girls', they have eight out of the Top 10 (including 1st through 4th), and a further seven in the Top 20.
  2. There is a reason why he hasn't, hint, hint...
  3. Before you come on here and ask a question, always Google it first. You may well get your answers there...

  5. Of course; they need their hydration breaks. And gloves when there's a slight chill in the air...

I noticed that too. It's unlikely that there would be two riders of that name at the same time. Edit: I haven't found anything concrete on Cec himself, but I found an article that states Cec's son Ty rode at Tijuana.
  7. Dammit! I kept thinking of him, but I forgot last year!
  8. But that was a "cool" name! Look at all the youngsters that it attracted to the sport!
  9. Yeah, but that's not why football was better back then. It's the quality of the footage and extra camera angles that makes watching modern sport (particularly speedway) so wonderful. The reason football was better back then is because it was played by men. No playing for penalties, diving, playing balls back to the keeper, reluctance to attack and take on defenders, and general niggly crap... I watch old matches on YouTube regularly.
  10. It certainly seems that Oxford are back this year! There are a lot of rumours - mostly negative - about what us happening at Swindon, but apparently, they are planning on 2023.
  11. Ah, another one just sprang to mind! Wiggy, 1983 (Cradley), 1985, 86, and 89 (Oxford).
  12. I liked the way that Steve was thinking, but the way you worded it, i figured it was as a rider. There are several names that immediately sprang to mind, but they all had 3!
  13. Not so much with the TV, but I watch a lot of stuff on YouTube; either with no sound, or music playing.
  14. I was going to say that (play with trains, actually!) but I thought better of it!
  15. Shocking thought, I know, but perhaps they wanted to PROMOTE the sport!
  16. Oxford are back... Not just speedway, though. Taking the First Division clubs in 1965-66, we have lost Filbert Street, White Hart Lane, Boleyn Ground, Highbury, Roker Park, and County Ground. In Division 2, we have lost Maine Rd, The Dell, Highfield Rd, Leeds Rd, Millmoor, Baseball Ground, Burnden Park, Gigg Lane, Ninian Park, and Ayresome Park. It's called "progress" (or so they claim).
  17. Worse than that, I don't understand why people REFUSE to watch it on TV or online. Yet they claim to be speedway "fans".
  18. Sad news - and still so young. He was only 64. R.I.P.
  19. I feel bad for you. You never got to try the pork and stuffing sarnies, and pork scratchings from Cradley!
  20. If I were you, I'd start a New, New, Original German Tracks thread...
