Perhaps they're running short of riders, so they need a couple of replacements?

Does anyone else get the feeling that this Cardiff 2022 thread will continue well into 2023? Thing is, we have been given an answer - and I believe it to be a very reasonable answer - as to why last week's track was so poor, and that steps will be taken to ensure that it doesn't happen again. If that is indeed the case, we should have nothing to worry about, and everything will be fine. Am I being too simplistic and optimistic?

What a sad person you are... Dan Bewley winning wasn't a "decent moment"? Chris Harris' win in the final wasn't a "decent moment"? Rickardsson's incredible ride in 2005 wasn't a "decent moment"? If speedway really was "all about the racing", then you have absolutely no reason to follow the sport, although it's obvious you don't know a decent moment when you see one...

That scares the hell out of me...

Not when there's a poxy strike on!

Beta blockers are, and so are most diuretics, as they can be used as a masking agent.

There was a time... -
Remember, there have been several factors at play recently which can be considered legitimate reasons for a reduced crowd.

Whoa! That um heap not PC statement!

After his second heat win, I asked if anyone had had their money on him? The last few weeks, his improvement has been amazing, and I really had a feeling. For me, it wasn't that he won; it was the WAY he won!

Thank you so much! That is the one thing I find really obvious from old vids, and didn't know if anyone else had noticed? It almost looks amateurish to me, and is a far cry from the style we see today. And the worst one for that coasting? Mauger! That is one of the main reasons for me why modern speedway is more exciting; riders power INTO the bends... -

Exactly what I said. They attacked the track, and it paid off. If you're going to act like you're scared of the track, stay home... -
I think that applies to almost everyone then, don't you? Like I said before, how many used to go to Wembley, just for the racing?
-
You think EFkins would manage as much as half a lap?

Don't lie! R87 said that speedway fans aren't interested in pubs, and judging by his tone to everyone, he knows what he's talking about!
-
Why? It never has been! World Finals were never chosen because of the quality of the racing, were they? Wembley was chosen because of the occasion, the capacity, and the location. Amsterdam, Munich, and L.A. were all temporary tracks. Norden certainly wasn't chosen because of occasion or location... There really is a lot more to take into account than the racing.

Are you suggesting that speedway fans are fickle? Seriously though, that is so true. When I look at videos from the "good old days" the racing was mostly crap. However, when our team got a 5-1, nobody gave a toss, did we?
-
Not quite; there were TWO races that people remember. 1976 actually had several good races.

The fact is that the bikes react the same to dirt, ruts, holes etc; they just take off... -
Again, I can't argue that. The thing that bugs me is why did we plan a "National" speedway stadium with such a limited capacity. No, it didn't have to hold 80,000, but still... It didn't even have to be permanent, but just be able to expand when necessary...

He certainly seems to be one-of-a-kind!
