  1. The most important thing to learn is that English ain't what it used to be! I am old enough to remember when words like selfie and babymomma didn't exist...
  2. See, you are interpreting things to suit yourself! I deliberately worded it as to be ambiguous... Trust me, I am not the *rsehole you are convinced I am. I am an amateur speedway historian who provides valuable input not only on the BSF, but to the sport as a whole. I am an experienced and successful (and respected) professional sports figure. I have a wonderful (albeit somewhat warped, at times) sense of humour. I am just intolerant of bigotry, hatred, negativity, and general stupidity. When I provide input in reference to you comments or questions, you ignore them. When I ask you simple questions that require a simple answer, you refuse to answer. Despite what you may think, my sole purpose in life is not to mock you or argue with you. Having said that, many of your posts do seem to encourage people (not just me) to react in those ways. Life is too short to be a miserable git; I know, I used to be one! As I get older, I can't understand why so many people take everything - particularly themselves - too seriously. You really are one of those people. I honestly am not trying to entice you in to saying something for which I can belittle you. I am trying to get you to understand that just because YOU may find something offensive, it doesn't mean it is. One of the things I have learned about being in the US is that I am surrounded by snowflakes and the perpetually offended. Again, life is too short to find everything offensive. Are you American???
  3. How did I "belittle" religion? Was it the fact that I used the names Peter and Paul? Was it the fact that I suggested they ride for Southampton? Was it the fact that I uttered the name "Jesus"? Of course it wasn't Jesus; wrong sport... Would you be offended by me suggesting that Jesus is a valuable member of the Manchester City squad? Would you be offended by me suggesting that the Rochdale FC fans had a whip round to get Jesus to their final match of the season a couple of years ago? I am just looking for serious answers to each of those questions.
  4. You said, "Wasn't there a tie-break race to decide the winner?" So yes, you DID suggest there was a run-off...
  5. You really are quite an unpleasant piece of work, aren't you? Yes, I have made fun of you on occasion (nothing nasty, mind), and let's be honest, you have asked for it. However, I have also defended you (both on here and on FB), and given you friendly advice (often by PM) on improving you reputation on both. You have insulted me, and my profession, but that is obviously okay for you to do.
  6. Are you talking about THIS particular thread? I have not deviated the topic once. All I have done is merely respond to comments made by others - all of which were based on one particular comment.
  7. He was out injured. He wanted to make his comeback at Easter.
  8. I'm sure he didn't complain as he would have been crucified...
  9. Are you that dyslexic atheist who doesn't believe in a dog?
  10. If you wondered how the poster arrived at his figure, surely the best option would have been to ask the poster himself?
  11. I thought this thread was about Wimbledon's final meeting???
  12. No, Jesus was third. As gustix said, there was a runoff for first between Peter and Paul; they both rode for the Saints...
  13. They are told that here - just not always that politely!!!
  14. We also need to allow the younger voter. After all, they are the ones most affected...
  15. Leave him alone; he's on a "roll". You don't "knead" to ridicule him, he just wants a "slice" of the action.
  16. So, are we blaming Poole for killing Bullseye now???
  17. acesofww2.com/can/aces/pepper.htm Rode for Newcastle, and lost his life during a test flight... Edit: not sure about the problem with the URL, but you can Google him.
  18. There's another one. And he buried his speedway gear to protect it!
  19. It would be nice to put together a collection of the wartime exploits of speedway riders. George Pepper is still probably the best example.
  20. You are not getting too old. Yes, I am defending you... What it comes down to is that you need to read (properly) what is posted. Don't worry, there are a lot of people younger than you who don't do that either...
  21. Colin and Fred Caffrey Sid and Mick Sheldrick
  22. You still have a problem with people using a free and legal service that is specifically designed for them? You really do have issues, don't you? I am a "fine one to talk about loyalty", because I found a woman to love, and wanted to spend my life with? You have a problem with people marrying outside of their nationality? So, you're a racist and xenophobe too! The f*cking money I have spent on speedway over the years, attending meetings, buying merchandise, providing sponsorships, contributing to programmes, magazines, and websites (all for free), organising and participating in fundraisers for riders, and you have the balls to keep whining like a 6-year-old? Finally, on my visits back to the UK, whenever they have been during the speedway season, I have always tried to take in as many meetings as I can - and have been happy to pay for them! You can't (or won't) even cross the road to do that...
