  1. Actually you've kind of ruined your own arguement there. I presume you mean the Lindgren crash (?) - If there hadn't have been an airfence and Fred had hit a chaiin fence, or worse a board fence, at that speed he may well be joining the list of serious injuries we've had this season! Yes he went through the fence but it acted like a huge cushion and made for a fairly soft landing! I think the Sheffield fans need to get medical attention for the huge planks they appear to have on their shoulders over this issue! Perhaps someone could explain WHY Sheffield can't have the airfence. I read on here that it's because they can't get the airfence up on a Thursday night or something. Is this a time thing? I only ask becasue the Wolverhampton Airfence can't be put up until after the dogs have finished at 6pm! Yet it's always up and ready for the start time at 7.30! once and for all its not just the time constraints its the fact that once the fence has been erected it HAS TO BE INSPECTED by someone from sheffield council, do you think this can be done between between the time the fence had been erected (and it would take a lot longer at sheffield than it would at wolves) and the start time of the meeting, and what would happen if the inspector was late or wanted alterations??? no meeting. so this is not a problem to do with an air fence, we regularly have EL riders practising at sheffield with no air fence, and they are not alone on the track EG richard hall on thursday, but other reasons which obviosly no one from the BSPA will talk about.
  2. after the hillsborough disaster sheffield council insist on inspecting any changes to the safety fence, so that would mean an inspector looking at the fence after it was erected after the afternoon dog meeting, which aparently is not possible to do
  3. sheffield didnt decide the couldnt have an air fence, there was never going to be an air fence, for a midweek meeting at sheffield it is IMPOSSIBLE so lets get rid of this red herring as a reason for it being moved once and for all so they told you all the crown figures for the last eight years at KL on wednesday did they, or was it just said by an interested party
  4. no i dont work for nothing but i dont understand why you ask that anyway????? if you dont have the crowd figures why state that this this years british final was the best attended for the last 8 years, i dont know if it was or not so i cant prove your wrong, but after your statement i assume
  5. no but it doesnt matter for this because its in support of a PL rider and they dont need air fences
  6. and of course the money from the bars and food outlets will be shared between the tracks as well, or will KL keep that for themselves also as stated elsewhere, the FACT that there was not going to be an air fence at sheffield was known when the meeting was allocated to us, so what has changed since that date, a lot of injuries at sheffield this year NO EL teams and riders have refused to ride at sheffield this year because there isnt an air fence NO elite league riders will refuse to ride in the Gary Stead meeting because there isnt an air fence NO maybe the (mis) management commitee had a bout of temp blindness and deafness when the fact that sheffield cant have an air fence on a thursday was mentioned POSSIBLE some other reason completely un related to any of the above MOST LIKELY PS can you give me the crowd figures for the british final for the last eight years to back up your statement
  7. and of course the money from the bars and food outlets will be shared between the tracks as well, or will KL keep that for themselves
  8. dont agree sheffield wont be losing out, they will have to pay rent for the stadium but wont have an attractive meeting to put on so have a chance of losing money. And yes there will be EL riders at the Gary Stead meeting with no air fence, makes a complete mokery of the reason to transfer the ELRC to chapmans own track.
  9. Must admit it i would think a rider would have a case if he hurt himself in the match following the ELRC if if could be shown that an air fence would have saved the injury. after all are we sayning that EL riders are more important than all other riders? and why do EL riders ride on PL tracks that dont have an air fence?
  10. Surprised that you even think an explanation should be given, up to now there has been no explanations for any of the decisions concerning the "super 7s" meetings.
  11. So today is 30days before the meeting takes place, are we going to find out the venue and the qualifiers today.
  12. Yes always been known that Sheffield cant erect an air fence on a Thursday, due to time and H & S problems with Sheffield Council. So as this fact has always been known, whats the REAL reason its been switched.
  13. Why does any speedway supporter think that the promoters will think of the fans, havnt seen any offer of a refund to people who have bought tickets for sheffield who cant / wont go to KL either.
  14. well yet another change with no real reason given, funny how its switched to Mr Chapmans own track as well, not bad being in charge of the super sevens and hosting two of the events. perhaps next year we can hold all 7 at KL and we could have a welsh GP at cardiff and an english one at KL to complete the set
  15. so using that logic now that hansons fit, and not riding for workington, workington should be out of the fours? As edinboro were the wild cards they are not subject to any qualifying criteria anyway
  16. any explanation for the change of mind? Just checked the site and no explanation, so does anyone have any idea, or it is it just a whim on somebodys part again?
  17. so comptons not in the top 16 british riders, and what facts do you base that on
  18. so what happened to this competition being for the best 16 british riders and i would ask tai woffendon whether he thinks sheffield is a gate and go track, if it was he would scored about 6 last night instead of what he did score
  19. any chance of the powers that be explaining this decision?
  20. sorry but my maths say that 30 days before the 29th june is the 31st may
  21. Cant even keep to their own deadline, i know its only a day but why say 30 days at all if they arnt going to stick with it?
  22. As we are now 30 days before the event shouldnt we know the teams that have qualified for the final?
