  1. sad about the county ground, but good to see another owls fan on the forum, couldnt get much further apart than you and king jamie either. heres hoping for another victory tonight at west brom
  2. its either greg or mark dekok, both rode in the second halfs at sheffield in the 80s and could easily have ridden at scunthorpe in that period
  3. checked now im at home, either greg or mark dekok, not sure but think its greg
  4. and rode in the australian under 16 championship, has dual nationality, and will he ride in the australian championships this winter? yes seems to have choasen already
  5. well talking about the wild card this is the only PL event this season that the team / rider that has been picked as a wild card would have qualified under last seasons rules
  6. what have sheffield to be jelous of? wouldnt have gone to the ELRC anyway, at £20 was too expensive, (and we ended up with a great match against birmingham instesd anyway) however we would all like to know why it was moved from sheffield, as i think all speedway supporters would.
  7. yes it is to be announced on the 20th August, oops now the 2nd Sept and we dont know it yet.
  8. dont know why you dont understand this, ALL PROFITS went to garry as for the stadium owners you will have to write to dave allen on that one and i only said it would be nice, didnt sat garry or robbo expected it, read and understand before commenting
  9. sheffiel;d dont make profits from anything but the gate money, so ALL profits went to garry
  10. See there was a bumper 4000 crowd for the event, be nice if KL donated the profits from the food etc to garry stead and robbo, after all it is profit they didnt expect to make.
  11. Thanks, all the fans from both tracks that attended were really pleased as well
  12. well instead of the ELRC we had our best meeting of the season at sheffied
  13. thought he went to wimbledon then oxford, but could be other way round
  14. Yes bob was a very rare rider, one that only rode for one team. one of the best captains sheffield ever had, remember him standing down from a few rides to let an in form reserve have another ride. Captained us to only ever british league trophy in 1974. Joh dews only left us because of rider control, we were never allocated another rider in his place though, his place in the team being shared by reg wilson and doug wyer who were riding in division 2 at the time, a fortaste of doubling up?
  15. yes just shows how good a track sheffield is when riders want to ride it. a lot of effort from all the riders last night, no one just going through the motions. nothing to add about Lee than what already has been said, wasnt just the size of the crowd that took us back years, had another michael lee no show just for old times sake. good luck garry for the future
  16. Think they may be waiting on a few injured riders to see how they are. but then sheffield are never that fast at confirming line ups
  17. what bruce did at white city has been going on in individual meetings for ever, i cant belive any supporter has not seen this done at individual meetings elsewhere, what he did was to be too honest about what he was doing, he should have had an EF at the gate then all would be OK why did he quit, to become a well paid actor instead of risking his life every time he went on the track, who wouldnt have done the same if the offer had come along, not good timing i agree, but it was then or never
  18. so its not skillful to ride a bike on a big track?? its jsut as skillful to ride a big SPEED way track as a small speedway track, justv a different sort of skill,
  19. well of the 7 announced 5 used to ride for sheffield, and one used to ride in the interval before he was16, so we are well represented at the moment
  20. and averages dont form a true record either, it depends who you have riden against, how many home matches you have and how manyrides you take. eg james wright had an 8 point average to qualify for the fours, looks good excepty it was from 1 uncompleted ride, now if that had been a reserve who had had a win then pulled out would he have qualified for the final as he was on a 12 point average? the best way to decide finalists is as it has always been, provide qualifying meetings.
  21. finished 3rd or fourth in last years 4TT and second in the pairs, won 4TT in 99 & 2000 and were runners up in 2001 hardly dissapointing, up to this year that is when we werent disapointing either just embarrassing
  22. overheard two promoters yesterday who were saying that the BSPA didnt want the press release by JC putting out at all, so i wonder if he acted on his own to releaseit, might explain the very short clip on the BSPA web site
